Ryven, the Bubble Turtle's Legion Back Story
The bubble turtle is one of the rarest animals to ever be seen. Hunted by the hellbourne for their prized shell, they are a main ingredient for the Voodoo Jester potions. No one knows how long they can live for but shells have been found from dead bubble turtles that have been over one thousand years old. The name bubble turtle comes from the constant foaming of the mouth in which the bubble turtle uses to catch prey and protect itself in a manner very similar to mantis shrimp. Young bubble turtles have been seen playing with these bubbles hence the name ‘bubble bobble’ turtle. Ryven joins the fight for the Legion to avenge his endangered kin.

    __________________________________________________
Foreword: Before reading the skills remember that knockback in this specific case is not a Disable, and is not like the spell 'Greater Bash.' However knockback simply keeps enemy units at the distance stated by the spell, effectively creating a new form of defense and support.

    __________________________________________________
    Bubble Wrap [q]

Ryven foams at the mouth creating a bubble shield around his entire body. The shield pushes back enemies if they attack ryven or friendly units within range of the bubble and returns damage.
    Level 1 - 15 damage when struck / 140 knockback.
    Level 2 - 30 damage when struck / 180 knockback.
    Level 3 - 45 damage when struck / 220 knockback.
    Level 4 - 60 damage when struck / 260 knockback.
    Cooldown: 30 seconds
    Mana Cost: 75/100/125/150
Level 1: Area of effect 300. Lasts 4 seconds.
Level 2: Area of effect 350. Lasts 6 seconds.
Level 3: Area of effect 400. Lasts 8 seconds.
Level 4: Area of effect 450. Lasts 10 seconds.

(Clarification: Every time Ryven is struck the enemy unit is dealt damage depending on the level of the spell and is knocked back. Spell needs to be activated and only lasts 10 seconds at level 3. After spell wears off the effects no longer occur when Ryven is struck by a melee or ranged attack. This is a self buff and can not be placed on friendly units. It is a twist for countering carry heroes by avoiding the typical damage reduction and evasive passives instead Ryven gets the ability to knock units back when he is struck.
Edit: While the shield is on Ryven, friendly heroes can stand next to ryven or anywhere within the radius of the shield around ryven and be safe from melee attacks.)

    __________________________________________________
    Bubble Bath [w]

Ryven foams at the mouth with every attack creating a bubble around him until it eventually pops covering his prey in a bubble bath.
Level 1 - Bubble Bath deals 10 damage per attack saved and knockback for 200. Stacks 5 times for a total of 50 damage.
Level 2 - Bubble Bath deals 20 damage per attack saved and knockback for 200. Stacks 5 times for a total of 100 damage.
Level 3 - Bubble Bath deals 30 damage per attack saved and knockback for 240. Stacks 5 times for a total of 150 damage.
Level 4 - Bubble Bath deals 40 damage per attack saved and knockback for 240. Stacks 5 times for a total of 200 damage.
Level 1: Area of effect 300. Can trigger any time with a second sub spell
Level 2: Area of effect 325. Can trigger any time with a second sub spell
Level 3: Area of effect 350. Can trigger any time with a second sub spell
Level 4: Area of effect 400. Can trigger any time with a second sub spell
    [Passive]
(Clarification: Ryven builds up a bubble around him that deals damage depending on the amount of attacks Ryven saves up before he chooses to pop it with his sub skill ‘Burst Your Bubble.’ The bubbles reach its full potential at 5 attacks max. Level 1 can deal 10 damage with 1 attack or 50 damage with 5 attacks. When the bubble pops, enemies take full damage while getting knocked back for 200 depending on the level. This is very similar to the old Storm Spirit passive only in one way and that is you need to attack to build the charges up, however on the 5th attack it will not trigger because it is a spell that gets released all around your body. The only way to trigger it is to leave ‘Burst Your Bubble’ on autocast or manually click ‘Burst Your Bubble.’ The AoE will be a complete 360 degrees around Ryven’s body.)

    __________________________________________________
    Burst Your Bubble [s]

Ryven eats the foam around his mouth popping the bubble around him.
Level 1 – Instantly pops the bubble around Ryven.
    [Autocast]
    Cooldown: 12/8/6/4
    Mana Cost: 0
(Clarification: A sub skill for ‘Bubble Bath’ it allows the player to trigger the spell whenever they choose. The spell can also be placed on autocast when ‘Bubble Bath’ reaches its maximum of 5 charges. The reasoning for this skill is in case you are being ganked and you only have 4 charges of ‘Bubble Bath’ one can press ‘Burst Your Bubble’ knocking back their opponents to avoid the gank. All charges contain a knockback charge.)
    __________________________________________________
    Bubble Blow [e]

The foam around Ryven's mouth blows forward as he exhales covering the ground in bubbles.
Level 1 - Blow 4 bubbles in a cone, 240 Knockback if enemy unit walks into them. Deals 35 damage for each bubble in an AoE. 140 Damage for all 4 bubbles popping.
Level 2 - Blow 5 bubbles in a cone, 240 Knockback if enemy unit walks into them. Deals 35 damage for each bubble in an AoE. 175 Damage for all 5 bubbles popping.
Level 3 - Blow 6 bubbles in a cone, 280 Knockback if enemy unit walks into them. Deals 35 damage for each bubble in an AoE. 210 Damage for all 6 bubbles popping.
Level 4 - Blow 8 bubbles in a cone, 280 Knockback if enemy unit walks into them. Deals 35 damage for each bubble in an AoE. 280 Damage for all 8 bubbles popping.
    Cooldown: 18 seconds
    Mana Cost: 90/105/120/135
Level 1: Area of effect 225. Casting range 900
Level 2: Area of effect 225. Casting range 1000
Level 3: Area of effect 250. Casting range 1100
Level 4: Area of effect 250. Casting range 1200
(Clarification: Ryven blows X amount of bubbles depending on the level of the spell on the ground at a max distance of 1200 range at level 4 in a cone. The bubbles create a wall that if an enemy unit touches it they get knocked back and take damage, if you can imagine Clockwerk’s cogs but instead they are bubbles and instead of being around Ryven’s body they are blown to wherever you desire within the range limit; also very similar to Dark Seer’s ultimate, Wall of Replica. The bubbles go away until they are all popped or until they pop on their own after 7 seconds. When they pop on their own they still deal damage if an enemy unit is near and they also knockback.
    __________________________________________________
    Bust-a-Move [r]

The foam around Ryven's body reaches its breaking point, propelling Ryven forward at extreme speeds sending all foes in his way flying and jumping for cover.
Level 1 - 100 damage when in contact with the bubble / 280 knockback/ gives maximum movement speed.
Level 2 - 140 damage when in contact with the bubble / 280 knockback/ gives maximum movement speed.
Level 3 - 180 damage when in contact with the bubble / 280 knockback/ gives maximum movement speed.
Level 1: Area of effect 400 lasts 2 seconds. Bubble explodes after the 2 seconds for 100 damage and 300 knockback.
Level 2: Area of effect 400 lasts 3 seconds. Bubble explodes after the 3 seconds for 150 damage and 300 knockback.
Level 3: Area of effect 400 lasts 4 seconds. Bubble explodes after the 4 seconds for 200 damage and 300 knockback.
    Cooldown: 200/180/160
    Mana Cost: 125/175/250
(Clarification: Different from Bubble Wrap, Ryven becomes invulnerable to melee/range attacks, giving him 9999 armor; however spells still damage and effect him. Ryven then proceeds to charge into all enemies around him knocking them back continuously until the effect wears off. This is not like Omnislash only because you have control of what direction you go in the only thing that changes is that there is a big bubble around you, If you could imagine it is a big bubble like effect kind of like faceless voids chronosphere around Ryven and any enemy unit that touches the bubble take damage and gets knocked back. Enemies can only be affected every second to avoid abuse. It is essentially a turtle bubble bulldozer. After the effect wears off the bubble pop’s releasing one last wave of damage and a
    knockback. )

    __________________________________________________
    Strategies and Synergies

+ + = Save up ‘Bubble Bath’ charges then cast ‘Bubble Blow’ behind the enemy hero, then cast ‘Burst your Bubble’ to send the enemy flying into the bubbles behind him knocking him back into you.

+ = Blow a wall of bubbles behind your enemy forcing them to either take the knockback and damage or find a new path. Activate your ‘Bubble Wrap’ and leave your opponent defenseless and unable to fight back while you attack him.

+ = Blow a wall of bubbles behind your enemy then turn on your ultimate ‘Bust-a-Move’ and knock him into the bubbles.

+ + = A great escape tactic, save up a ‘Bubble Bath’ charge and use it if you are about to be ganked, then turn on your ‘Bubble Wrap’ and make a run for it you will be safe from melee and ranged attacks within 550 AoE for up to 10 seconds at level 4.

    Synergies With Other Heroes

Behemoth - Your teammate lays down a fissure blocking one route and you lay down your bubbles with the'Bubble Blow' spell to block the other.

Pebbles - Have Pebbles chuck you into battle and turn your ultimate 'Bust-a-Move' on and watch everyone fly back.

Blood Hunter - When Blood Hunter uses Hemorrhage on someone and that person stays still you can lend him a hand to make that person move.

Nymphora - You can knock the enemy back into her Volitile Pod or prevent your opponent from being able to avoid the heal.
    __________________________________________________
    Item Synergies

Steamboots - Increased attack speed for 'Bubble Bath' and some extra strength or intelligence early on.

Brutalizer - Since the knockbacks are not stun the new cranium bashers will be able to work with your hero making a stun knockback combo possible.

Runed Axe - With your passive ’Bubble Bath’ attack a plus 35% cleave added on to a possible 200 damage AoE attack would synergize quite nicely.

Eldar Parasite - A 75% increases attack speed buff would synergize with your passive ’Bubble Bath’ and also help aid with increased movement speed if you are about to be ganked it would synergize with your other skill ’Bubble Wrap’ protecting you from taking any extra damage from the mask of madness debuff.

Assasin Shroud - Turn on your ultimate then quickly press loathers and you have an invisible hero knocking back enemy units. (Sounds like a nice laugh.)

Null Stone - A good way to avoid being stunned while your ’Bubble Wrap’ is on or your Ultimate ’Bust-a-Move’.

Shrunken Head - Become immune to magic when you turn on either your ’Bubble Wrap’ or your Ultimate which will effectively protect you from both physical and now magical attacks.

Savage Mace - Increase your damage and attack speed for faster ’Bubble Bath’ procs and become a more offensive Bubble Turtle.

Daemonic Breastplate - Increase your attack speed dramatically and enjoy your AoE ’Bubble Bath’ procs.

Frostfield Plate - Are your opponents getting away from you? Frostfield Plate is a good idea to catch up and knock them around.

Insanitarius - One of my favorite strength items, increase your attack speed, damage, strength, and armor. A great way to compliment your hero’s attributes and abilities.

Behemoth's Heart - Well your hero is a support TANK and there is no better tanking item then Behemoth's Heart.

Portal Key - I saved the best for last. The enemy team is pushing or the enemy team is defending their last base tower. So you blink with your trusty Portal Key, turn your ultimate on, and you are in business.

The WC3 engine couldn't handle the bubble turtle, let's make him real.

What is the reasoning behind the knockback of ranged heroes? Also, would Bubble Wrap© affect spells?

The reasoning for knockback effecting all forms of attack is because the hero is supposed to be a new take on the support tank role, now the only form of a support tank is to either have a heal, stun or slow, what this hero does it create a barrier between your team and the opposing team, which effectively creates a new form of support. He is essentially a wall for your team to hide behind, and when things get dicey he can turn on his ult or use his spells to put even more distance between the opposing team and your team.

No, bubble wrap will not affect spells, his role is to counter melee/range carries not spell casters.

This was one of my favorite submissions in the Hero Suggestions. I'm bumping for more feedback.

very interesting, very good, but im unable to tell how good he would actually be with such unique powers.

I like it but i think it could be a pain to program.

That is the beauty of having an entirely new engine, things that weren't possible in WC3 can now be possible in HoN. Thanks for the T-UP.

Good news, I happen to have inside source from the art team that someone is making some concept art for your turtle. He leaked this to me...

Nothing to say, just awesome. I love it. I wanna marry it and teach my half-human half-turtle children how to play HoN so they can own with Ryven.

Thanks, I spent a lot of time with him, but I still feel there might be some issues with balance and also I do not think people fully understand exactly what the spells do, so anything concerning that would be great.
