Ok blocking spawns and stacking them up to kill people are totally different.
I was referring to the video that was posted. The vast majority of engineer players that level mines early play him that way rather than the way you are discussing, but that certainly doesn't make mines a bad skill anymore than the huge amount of misuse it gets makes elder parasite a bad item.
How much better of a support can you be than blocking various neutral creep camps and the free chance of instakilling a mid going for a rune (which will give your mid and advantage) or a jungler. Its not just the fact that you can insta kill someone. You can mind fu ck people into baiting. (having minds stacked somewhere and pretending that your running to a spot with no mines. You can also bully the neutral shop with mines.
I will have some use of you![]()
Perhaps you can put a bit more depth into your post then and tell people why dropping 9 mines in a corner somewhere is less beneficial then doing x, y, and z with them instead of making it sound like mines are a bad ability that isn't worth leveling.
After all, this is Training Grounds. You don't know what new player will read this and assume you're giving sound advice to never level mines.
Mines do massive damage and synergize well with his ult. It becomes a matter of "run through the electric field and have all the nastiness associated with that, or eat 300 damage to the face from a mine".
I prefer to think of them as a point blank nuke. They can also be used tactically to cut off gank approaches. It's hard to bait good players into them, but they can cut off key positions and punish people when they get sloppy.
They also give him superior pushing and counterpush power. I think they are situationally a better choice, depending on how much lockdown your team has already.
I go mines ulti and stats only until the game forces me (lvl 14) to take Keg / Turret.
Engineer is great against junglers. I totally wrecked Warbeast by blocking 4 camps, and leaving him a 5 mine surprise at level 6 somewhere in his jungle. All you need is mines at level 2.
I like mines, because of mind games <3 The enemies are always afraid to chase you.
Thanks Lhune!

Sorry for my bad English!
Lol, I play Carry Engi and dominate. I guess I can go Q E Q + Q instead of Q + Q + Q to see how it works.
Hmph, I'm up against all of you guys? Hahah, well then, sounds like I have nothing to worry about. This war's already been won.

Why stop :/ ?
It's so good when you have an engi to block the enemy jungle camps or use them in chokepoints/most used paths where you need them, unlimited time wards ftw !
What? That's even better for you. If their carry wastes SH cooldown to chase an Engi without getting mined....
Man, I'm just getting all giddy right now thinking about how awesome that'd be for my team. That's about as brilliant of a move on a carry as a Magebane blinking onto a Devourer.
Are the big, bright, flashing "Free Kill" neon lights not blinking for anyone else?
They can actually be very useful... If you're in a tough lane, you can place them defensively so when you're being agroed, you have mines to fall back on and possibly turn the fight around. And they're also great for sight![]()
