    Need a mentor

    Hi there!
so...i'll make this straight : i'm a bad player , and that's the reason i need some consulence.
I don't think i'm completely incompetent because i got very positive win streak times to times but for the majority of game i get killed 2 to 5 times and i know there's something wrong in the way i play, problem is that i don't seem to understand what it is.
last but not least i can't absolutely play matches that are larger than 3 vs 3.
well i hope some good soul will help.(i do rage of course, though not very much, but of course i will not rage at you)

    p.s.
i apologize if my english doesn't sounds so well

try watching your own replays and see what contributed to your death.most of the times it will be your positioning.

Adding to what Clytemnestra has said; if you are going over a replay you should also look at decision making and map awareness. Should you run in to kill a low hp support when he has 2-3 players that can turn on you? Were you farming in a pushed up lane with no enemy heroes on your map, or an enemy is missing from another lane?

When you can see where you are going wrong, you should be able to think about it during the game and improve by quite a bit.

i watch my replay regulary and also map awarness is one of few things i've learned to do quite well,i have some positioning problem, that's true, but it doesn't explain why i get kill five time in a row(i think at least),i mean :staying behind creeps, watch out for forest gank and possibly get wards on key-spot...those thing i got them...but still,i suck

forgot.also, look why your teammates or enemies die,try to understand that.for example,i have a friend that always farms into a pushed lane up to close their tower, with no wards.i tell him that he will die since all are missing and he has no wards or tp.it is obvious.i may be a little too overprotective, but it is better than playing 4v5 because people are greedy for creeps.also, learn to static farm and buy your own wards if nobody does.i was playing casual, where nobody buys wards(in normal they usually ward the runespot all match and maybe the high cliffs from the jungles) and i had to buy my own laneward to not get hooked by devourer,my own runeward,my own forestwards to farm etc.

Watch support warding guides and learn to play support.I don't tell you to play support,i tell you just to learn to ward. You will understand where and why to put wards to help you farm.having tp also works since you can get all the creeps until you see they gank you and tp to the other lane while they waste time trying to kill you.Learn where to ward.Example:i am hellbourne and want to farm legion bot.Put wards behind the tower to see teleports,in the jungle, and that runepassage(there is a ward that covers the rune, runepassage and legion forest).the only way they can gank you is to go behind tower so maybe a ward on your ancients might be a good idea.or fayde, but she needs a rune of which you have vision(she will rarely gank bot if she gets dd/haste top).if you want to push a tower with your team, ward behind the tower, and anywhere you think the enemy might come towards you.

    sorry for wall of text.

A mentor or specific advice is only going to help you slightly until you are able to grasp the basics of the game and understand how to apply sound advice to your mechanics. What would help you more, at this point, is to stop playing 3v3s and start playing the real game in Normal Mode Matchmaking (or Normal Public/No Stats). The dynamics behind 3v3 and 5v5 are completely different and you learn nothing about the real game from 3v3s. Admittedly, it's going to suck for a while as you learn the nuances that don't exist in 3v3 (namely, Succubus is no longer God tier in 5v5).

Next, set yourself realistic and attainable goals. I used to float between 1420-1520 MMR for a long time and I couldn't figure out why. I set myself one goal and forced myself to stick to it. I promised myself that I would hold over 250 GPM every game. At first it was hard to force myself to farm that well without missing out on teamfights, ganks, pushes, etc., but then it started to come natural to me. 250 GPM to some may not seem like much, but my biggest problem was that I always wanted to help everywhere all the time. I was roaming too much to ever be of use to anyone, but I felt like I was being selfish in not participating in everything, even if it was clearly to late for me to participate. Therefore, for me, 250 GPM was a realistic goal (I used to average around 180-250).

The key to a GPM goal is that it forces you to play smarter to protect your GPM. You subconsciously start questioning every TP, push, gank, defense, teamfight positioning, etc., just to protect that number. It forces you to work on your basics, especially last-hitting and static-farming.

Perhaps my goal that helped me won't help you, but, regardless, you need to set yourself your own goals bsed on what you'd like to improve and stick to them.

In addition to all the other post, If you really want to gain a learning mindset, try not to rely on MIA to much, and never blame for miss calls. It's hon's greatest illusion for bad players being bad when it's really an option to call MIA for your time. Just try to remain aware of the map and don't look for a lame reason like MIA for your deaths.

I don't have problems in understanding spoken english...of course that's only if you have a reasonable quality mic and i can actually understand what you are saying, tried already some time ago and the dude got some s**t output quality,no need to say that it was pretty frustrating for both of us

Hover your mouse over your gold. A little window will pop up with several gold stats. The bottom number is Gold Per Minute (GPM).
