In short: (assuming you have windows)
1) Go to the directory where you installed HoN and open the folder called "Game". Default location is: C:\program files\heroes of newerth\game\
2) There should be two .s2z files there resources0.s2z and textures.s2z. DONT touch those files! Rename any other .s2z file to .s2z.bak
3) Done.
