Item Summary
Old:
5050 gold
450 hp + 25 hp per charge
6 hp/sec + .25 hp/sec per charge
New:
1938 gold
114 hp + 57 hp if charged
8.84 armor + 0.42 armor if charged
0.27 hp/sec + 0.09 hp/sec if charged
Assumptions
-Health regen over 10 seconds, so 6 hp/sec regen considered as 60 pure hp for calculation purposes
-(K+A)/D = 3.0, which gives an average sustained level of three sac stone charges
-New Sac stone will be charged 75% of the time (3 kills or assists per death)
EHP Formula
Additional EHP = H +.06*H*a + 0.06*h*A + 0.06*H*A
where,
H = health of item
A = armor of item
h = health prior to purchase
a = armor prior to puchase
Parameters
(Based On Assumptions Above)
Old = 592.5 hp, 0 armor, 5050 gold
New = 160.1 hp, 9.2 armor, 1938 gold
Graphs
Pure EHP (not factoring in gold cost):
EHP per 100 gold:
Results
-Sac Stone provides more EHP now for most situations than it did prior to the rework
-For most situations, new Sac Stone is over three times as efficient for EHP per gold
Honorable Mentions
-New Sac stone also provides armor for nearby allies
-Old Sac stone had far superior mana regeneration
Fun Math Fact
-Assume a modest 1500 health and 10 armor prior to purchase
-Old Sac Stone would need 11 charges to equal the EHP as new Sac Stone
-Old Sac Stone would need 58 charges to equal the EHP per Gold as new Sac Stone

Nicely done, really shows that the rework is a lot better than people think.
Casual HoN
Yea, people who yell at me for picking it up deserve this link. Its really powerful despite its shared cooldown activateable.
Can you do a comparison with Icon versus the major HP items such as Helm? I'm curious to see if its viable without the max HP increase that it no longer has.
The sign of lost Carcosa appeared in the air, paralyzing us with dread older than the very idea of time.
As we looked on in horror, the unholy sign dissolved into a lone figure, shrouded in yellow.
I think it was pretty clear that old sac stone was bad, so I'd rather see a comparison of the new sac stone to other survivability items.
Assume:
1500 HP, 10 Armor
Enemy heroes hit you for 150 damage on average
5 second fight duration
75% upkeep on Sac charge
Sac Stone + Iron Buckler = 2188 gold = 1270 EHP
HotBL = 2225 gold = 828 EHP
I'll have more on Sac Stone vs HotBL early next week, but Sac Stone + Buckler destroys HotBL when it comes to survival against heroes. Only downside is extra slot.
(HotBL wins against creeps, since each attack only takes 1 charge from HotBL)

2 of my fav heroes are Doc and SR and it was a great item on both those guys and was very good on other heroes. Trying to force it to work on heroes it isn't meant for might have been your problem?
Personally I am gutted they remade it because of how OP it was on Doc in mid wars.
This just in: armour is better than HP after a certain point for providing EHP.
I'm judged by my wild image a lot
And everybody seems to think I have a sinister plot
I do! Be offended by every sentence I jot
I got some militant thoughts, and you ain't killin' 'em off!
So listen...
Old Sac Stone did not just provide EHP though, it had several other benefits going for it.
