Had posted this previously, had only 1 no vote, but never left here and eventually was archived. With the advent of lock-pick, this mode still holds its validity and also leads to reverse lock-pick mode.
Reverse pick is much as it sounds. Each team picks the heroes for the other team, regardless of mode. This could be a reverse AP, reverse draft or reverse lock-pick.
After the heroes have been selected they get switched with the opposing team. There is then time to swap within the team.
I think this mode would be a heck of a lot of fun to play, people would get encouraged to think outside the box, find new synergies, buy appropriate items to make up for shortcomings etc.
The criticism was:Although the obvious flaws of this mode is that the opposing team would just pick the team that makes literally no sense (5 squishy int supports, 5 hard carries, just a bunch of heroes that don't go well together, etc.
I think this is the point, instead of picking a team that is going to be better than the other team in the pick phase, you now need to pick a team that will perform worse than the opposing team. This means a lot of strategy about how heroes interact just as much if not more than how well they work together, and will provide greater advantages for the teams that are able to pull together working strategies out of a hodgepodge of allegedly bad heroes.
In addition to it being a fun new game mode, it would give S2 valuable information on the perceived ineffectiveness of many heroes.
