I know some of these words! I just play Ra because he's one of the few strength heroes consistently available to pick in public games. Also, ignite sets him on fire (neat!) but unfortunately he often dies twice. I like Keeper of the Forest better but he's rare.
being a none tank hero and build tank items on him doesnt make sence cuz these days everyone buys with stre heroes helm/shamans/demonic/mock/behe/barberd if u tell me these are not items for tanks then tell me whats a tank in ur eyes
ra is a carry? semi carry? tank? suport? ganker? just tell me where RA fits best
u can build ANY hero as a carry
building a frostburn or shieldbreaker doesnt mean u wil carry
i just love people who build RA as carry means so easy to kill 1 stun 1 focus on him and hes down his stun is easy to avoid
i mean RA having tons of HP and having a barberd means u cannot focus him a RA can just start teamfights jump in and die if he wants and stand back up to finish the fight or stay alive
RA with tank items and having alot of HP means he can stun and chase people for a long duration and it helps ur team alot instead of buying carry items and die like an instant
hammerstorm is a hardcarry but people play him suport/iniator why? cuz its hard to get endgame items on a hammerstorm as hes always needed in teamfights
easy games u can make him the hardcarry he supose to be.
Ra is a tank..what are you saying.
He doesn't need farm. He needs items, but he snowballs easily. Gank, push lanes ec
Also, stuns count as scale ability. His stun skill is invaluable and make him super useful. If you want to go deep, even his ultimate scales as its 2x ra for one life.
Puppet master's ability does not make the enemy force to attack you unless you are standing in his face.
This ability makes the enemy attack enemy or friend. And if the enemy is attacking a friend its not really taunting.
Don't reply to my posts again.
Tanking requires you to have aggro which you can only get by taunting.. And who is the only hero with taunt in the game? Oh right, thats !
Btw, no one focuses a tank in MOBA games unless they are taunted like
I don't think you know what tanking is.

Tank is a name given to heroes that can have a tanky precense, either it depends on their build or their stat gain and skills.
By example, Chtuluphant and Kraken are very tanky from their own, therefor they can be considered a "tank", to increase the effectiveness of these heroes you build one or more items to protect urself.
Heroes like Electrician and armadon have skills that allow them to be tanky, in combination with items they will be most effective.
Another thing is, heroes that deal more damage by building HP or armor aren't always considered "tanky" heroes since they aren't tanky by themselves or have skills that allow them too.
A good example for this is, Berserker or Amun-ra, these are not "TANKS" as example Amun-ra has such low base armor and can't withstand much attacks anyway.
These heroes will need items like helm of the black legion or shamans headress, that doesn't mean they're supposed to be a "tank".
NOTE: People think "tank" is a word for initiator since most strenght heroes are initiators, Behemoth,Magmus,Maliken etc etc.
Ra is a tank, but also a semi carry

Ra deals damage in an AoE when attacked and can resurrect when slain. His mechanics encourages him to draw enemy fire opposed to the enemy firing his squishier team members.
I do find as RA it's silly spamming his abilities in Team Fights as he'll die quicker and he'll do decent damage existing and being focused.
Tank isn't a role, it's a description.

Reminds me of when I played Pyro and our 0 - 3 Blitz wouldn't ward because he's agility and I'm intelligence.
To stop all this tank flamewars we need real Tank hero in hero pool like or
And chipper can't gank unless you are hit your target with skillshots. He is not ganker now? Obliviously, Puppet Master is a tank with high skill cap.Puppet master's ability does not make the enemy force to attack you unless you are standing in his face.

My tactics never fail.
But seriously, a TANK in HoN is nothing but a hero that can take a massive amount of damage and still walk around in the front lines lolling (Aramdon, cthullu and legio are best examples).
A tank in HoN/dota genre doesn't need a taunt but the ability to do sustained damage over time by being attacked and generally just absorbing damage for allies:
1. Armadon -> Spine bursts can rpoc extra if you get hit alot in the back
2. Legio -> Will spin more if attacked more
3. Ra -> passive that deals magic aoe based on damage you are taking.
Playing a "tank" in HoN requires that you can annoy the living crap out of your enemy and prevent them from doing damage to your team.
Dat sig you can't see
While it's not necessarily Ra's job to be a tank, he IS a tank. You don't build damage items on him like Wingbow - you make him hard to kill. He has to be hard to kill in order to do damage because the entire idea of Ra is to get in your opponents faces and wreck them with AoE.
He's a carry, but he happens to be a tanky carry because of his passives and the way people typically build him so in a sense he fulfills both roles simultaneously.
Ra is a tank.. you only have to read his description..
Now.. tank is not a role.. that seems to be the problem.
Being tanky and being a tank is what describes that type of character.. But his role isn't to be tank.
You have initiators who aren't tanky and you have tanky heroes who aren't initiators...
I don't really understand all that talk about the taunt.. Taunt isn't what makes Legionnaire tanky. Taunt is just what makes Legio a good initiator.
But just like legionnaire, Ra can initiate with his stun, Keeper can initiate with his ulti, kraken can initiate with his ulti... etc... I don't even find taunt to be the amoung best initiation skills..
You don't need the enemy to focus you to be tanky or to be an initiator... There's other skills better than taunt to initiate.

But Ra is a tank role with his other roles.... So why is that your example.
