So nullstone is nice on madman,sill,swift etc. not only because it absorbs that targeted spell,but also because it gives health regen to recover from forest creeps,and mana regen so they can use their spells on those creeps.My question is,is there an alternative to nullstone?Considering the enemy has absolutely no targeted spell(and they don't plan on making hf/sheep etc.),should I still make nullstone or is there an alternative?(runed axe might be for melee,but what about for ranged?)
hotbl+chalice is a nice combo,but it would be way too strange to see sillhouette with them
You can usually buy nullstone safely, because there will most likely be hellflowers and hexes in the late game. Sometimes I dont buy nullstone against ws, arma, bomb and tb. I think there is no such a game which you just described so just buy nullstone!
Before 15 is nice, but I usually finish my steams, cheap stats etc (locket/vestments/rott w/e) and nullstone around 15-25 minutes.
Power supply always.
After that Geo-bane, such an amazing item! It removed all debuffs, can push you out pharaohs walls on occasion.
I usually pick this item over Nullstone Since I'm pretty good at switching my boots to int when using spells.
yeah but i was asking about an alternative to an item that gives both hp and mana regen.Geo's doesn't give you neither(maybe a little).Helm+chalice seems a good thing,but definetly nullstone for what ackwell said.(late-game sheepstick will always be no matter what other single-target spells the enemy has)
quite honestly, you're stuck with either runed axe or null stone for melee heroes. on ranged, you only have null stone. it's a pretty sad state of affairs. i wish hon had more item diversity.
helm and chalice works well too, but that is mostly for strength heroes.
if you are mid or solo, then getting bottle + chalice works well, but certainly not as well as a null stone.

^ nah null stone is good on heroes like FA and valk because you can use your nuke on every single creep camp or wave without running out of mana, giving you insane gpm thereafter.

I still like the idea that Charged Hammer = runed cleaver for ranged.
Faster farming, splashy modifier...

Why not Charged Hammer on every ranged hero?
You can almost never go wrong with a nullstone. I don't often play ranged carries, though I have played a bit of Silh and Arachna lately. On Silh/FA/Valk, nullstone is always a great item. Like a poster said above, it can counter Sheep/HF lategame, so it's always viable and the mana/hp regen is amazing. On Arachna, though, I don't tend to have mana problems since she uses very little, so on her I get HotBL and go for Geo.
If you want an alternative to Null first, then I'd suggest a Geo. It won't give you as much regen, but the armor increase reduces the damage you take and the damage increase is usually enough that you won't need to spam mana to farm effectively.
no there is no alternative, even if they have absolutely no targeted spells a null ensures you wont get hellflowered,pushed or sheeped later...not that i'd get it on a melee for regen

Since when do you jungle with either of those heroes, if you mean kill neutrals, a runed axe would do perfectly fine.
For nomad and monkey king, well nomad is supposed to get an helm of the black legion so he should be fine too, for monkey king? Idk never seen him jungle once since he can easily kill creepwaves with his high dmg output if he has a farmed solsbulwark. (Nullstone on monkey king is very common though).
I don't understand why you would get nullstone on swiftblade at all, I play with a friend (shinta) and he has about 15% SB usage with 80% winning on swiftblade.
Never ever has gotten nullstone, I support him (glacius, 85% winning percentage and 3rd most played hero) we're doing fine with runed cleaver.
But I suppose everyone builds Sb differently, but ur arguement or counter post to papwnd is invalid.
