Player terminated in loading phase when actively attempting to reconnect. + no gold advantage(?

Me and a friend was playing some team matchmaking (5v5) when he lost connection in the picking phase. He started to reconnect right before the loading phase but he got dropped from the game anyways at said phase. Getting kicked out of the game however didn't stop him from connecting to the game. With a black screen except for the UI he was still inside the game server and able to chat in all-chat as ''?????''.

One of my teammates thought that we didnt get any gold advantage even though we were one man short allthough im not 100% positive about that.

After the game we also got the full MMR penalty from loosing the game and not the cut penalty from having a D/C player when loosing.
