Paid logo and background for gameblog

I have a gameblog that seriously needs a good logo and a background. I'll pay $30 dollars for the logo.

Submit a logo with the name "GameBerserker" used as part of the logo.

The Logo should be roughly sized around: 280 X 140

The site is mostly moba games (dota2, hon, lol)

Well I made some. I can change anything on it. So if something seems wrong. I can fix it. It's not exactly the size you listed. But it's resizable.
If you'll chose mine, I'll PM you the bigger versions if you wish. Don't get me wrong. I just don't want bunch of scrubs napping them and ripping off the people I make this stuff for.

I'm using GIMP since my pc cannot handle Adobe PS... So i my options are limited...

Don't say that! GIMP is very powerful software!
If anything it has same things as Photoshop has. Just in different places. It's capable of many things Photoshop isn't.
Just look up some tutorials. There are really good ones.

I like the creativity but since words are going to have to be apparent, the inside colors of the letters create too much chaos for the eye therefore distracting from the word itself.

Suggestion: Create gb as mostly solid colors, The G part should be higher then the B, so the word "game will be higher/front" while the top portion of the B "berserker" is lower. As of right now, its berserker gaming is how it would read which contradicts the GB part.

The background is lacking something as well or you could add something to the image itself such as the axes in how devious did it. However its pretty creative

You captured the simplicity I want and the readability of my site name "game berserker". The axes and shield were a nice touch. I really like it.

The parts that I feel need work on: thicker borders around the shield and letters. The color scheme itself could use a little work as well.

A good example of the borders on the letters or the whole image borders would be from redeyes earlier work: The use of shadow/border on the letters.




You guys are like the opposite of each other lol One is too creative but goes away from the "business point/marketing point" of a design, while the other went for simple and effective but didnt elaborate on it to give it that solid touch.

I do like both designs but feel they are both lacking something as it stands right now. I understand thier quick and dirty illustrations to give me a idea of what you are going with, but unfortunetly I do need a final draft, so i can see how it will look when you actually put some more time into it.

I will let you guys know this comming friday night who won. I am also posting on deviant art later tonight, however both of you will have had a headstart.

I like the new one design-wise, but I think you should focus a lot of your typography. Typography usually needs to be crisp. It is even more important when you need high-scale versions. Also watermark big versions like devious does, to avoid ripping

By "typography" you mean the text? It is that style because it "glows" through the top of the GB letters (like they are empty and light comes out)
You are so right with the watermark, especially since this thread has some money on it

Indeed, typography is the text. On the high-res version the text looks a bit blurred. I dont mind glows, but maybe you could try several strokes around the base latter in a similar colour.

Actually I spent some time on it. Althoughit was more of a design problem than the technical one. I wasn't completely sure what you wanted. And your request was more or less vague.
Anywho. I made attempts to improve the logo. I'm still not sure about the color scheme though.

Like Sye said, the TEXT portion of the any logo is very important. It needs to be "crisp", also should have a contrasting border or complimentary border to make the text stand out.

What he said. Anything is changable. So if you decide that you want different colours and such. Just let us know.
The older logos I tried making were to fit the colours on the blog. But I kind of went a bit on the "side" with that I guess.

Either way. Whichever you pick, I hope you'll be satisfied with the results.

The reason why its friday is because I need time to get replies back from my staff. Normally I would make the decision on my own but both of your logos are great! So hard time choosing so thats why Im asking my staff for input.
