To all you "smurfing is allowed" guys, why not just make it so everyone can adjust their own MMR to whatever they want. You could set it to 1800, pick NH troll a game and fk it over, or set it to 1200 and stomp a bunch of plants whenever you wished.
Sounds like a great system right? No there's something wrong -- some 1800 games would be ruined. <3 the hypocrisy.

Why not implement it so that if the difference is so and so much between those who queue together, the MMR of the lowbies get temporally buffed (just for finding match)?
So if a 1730 guy queues with a 1500, the 1500 will inside the system (shorter queues) be emulated as 1630 and match will be found based on that. So the highest player will receive MMR in this system, and it's not fun to "troll" 1700 if that is where you belong, you'll only end up losing.
It's not set in stone that "this is the solution!", but rather a suggestion of a tweak to avoid the obviously exploited MMR-system.
It shouldn't be high players not getting MMR in lowbie games, but rather lowbies not getting MMR in high tier games.

Change your slider over to fair games instead of quick matches, they added a max 100 or 200 MMR difference for a group a few patches back. You'll never see this group again.

And then I changed my mind... this could use being looked at.
These guys are friendly, they remaked for me since I noticed they were smurfs and didn't really wish for 5 instantly lost mmr's. So I told them it was my birthday, (which it was and is today) and I had no intention of playing against smurfs and they understood that and approved my remake vote.

I'm rated 1690 and have been in steady mid 16xx for like a year, so no these guys do not affect me. Smurfs don't either because they get to 1750+ by the time they've played enough to match against me, which means even if it's a 1850 smurf on a 1750 or 1800 account, it's not that big of a deal.who cares about the 1400s bracket? These things bother me as a matter of principle, not because I'm affected personally. I play pubs as my "for fun" games. There's no need to pollute the MM system with accounts that have rigged rating like that.
Basically, your attitude is like identity politics, "it doesn't affect ME so why should I care". It's still fked up, why is it legitimate to mess up the 14xx and 15xx brackets like that but not the 18xx brackets?
If you queued into a game as a 1850 MMR player, would you appreciate it if 1 of the players was really a 1300'er that's been given fake stats that make him appear like a legit 1800?
