then we have loads of people having to sleep 3-4 hours daily for any reason but poor ladies couldn't play any game after only resting 3,5 hours cause their gamers bodies couldnt handle it.
Seriously though it's no big deal at all having to do any kind of effort for a couple of days even with little rest, either you play to the end or dont play at all.

Then you started competing in 2 tournaments at once and were unpleasantly surprised, that it took twice as long and required twice the effort to do it. After 24 hours you realised that you bit off more than you could chew and that you're not really willing to go through with it, so you spit out the rest and decided to chew on a smaller bite instead, screwing other normally competing teams in the process.

And of course this isn't your fault at all, but the organisers fault for letting you compete in 2 tournaments at once. Is that about right?
    Aw man, so this..

I don't mind them forfeiting, but why ***** about stuff, when you knew exactly what was expecting you. If I want to have 2 jobs and work from 7 AM to 2 AM, that's my decision. Can't blame my 2 bosses.

You must have known that you wouldn't get much sleep and have a hard schedule before going in with this, you did go through the BYOC after all, if you wanted to sleep much you should've won the qualifier. There should be benefits on winning those.

  4. #44
pathetic how you want to blame it on the organizers. ure disgusting chessie, i hope one of the other BYOC guys spits in your face. plays 2 tourney at once and says its the organizers fault that you have to play a lot. hope you disband

I don't get why everyones so mad. They had no chance to finnish in the top 4 so they chose to play in another tournament instead, big ****ing deal.

And to those who QQ that they "stole" the spot from a team who were willing to give it their all, but thats not TiG's fault for being better than the other BYOC teams. The best team got the spot but they weren't good enough to beat the teams who won the qualifier.

I'm more curious what the owner of It's gosu has to say about this. I myself would've been really ****ing pissed if I paid a trip to DH and **** and the team just dropped out of the tourney.

If your schedule is "you will play at midnight" and you end up playing at 5/6am it is organizers' fault.
Then, if the first match of the next day is still yours according to the schedule, that's even more retarded.

TiG kinda pussied out, but the organization was trash, for real.

Do you guys really think it's normal that you only get 3 hours of sleep on a lan?

If you really think so - sorry, that's wrong. That's bad organisation. If I would have only slept for 3-4 hours I would have puked and went to bed again. Some people just can't go with that amount of sleep and it also shouldn't be required. It's dumb.

I will make this easy for you.

The last matches they played were -NOT- the BYOC ones and neither the swedish one. It was the official dreamhon matches. They went on for that long.

http://dreamhon.com/?schedule MUFC vs TIG - last match on there.

You are disgusting and human trash, cheers for the talk.

If you really think you only get 3 hours of sleep on normal LAN events you have NEVER played in a competitive
environment before. Yes, you get less than 10 hours of beauty sleep, but normally you will ALWAYS have 6+ hours of sleep or time between the games. No matter which event or game. Just because normal people should know that you can't play your best when you are tired as ****.

People just hatin' cuz its hon or is everyone just that smallminded?
We had no rest for the whole day. We were constantly playing games, while teams in the dreamhon had breaks between games etc.
We played the DreamHon tournament til we had no chance of advantage. Do you think a team like mono (who had the same schedule) wouldv'e conceded SM for DreamHon if they had no chance of advancing in DreamHon?
    THERE'S NO CHANCE IN HELL!
fyi we are good friends with mono and even let them sleep with us in our hotell after their loss in byoc which gave them about 8-10 hours of sleep before SM.
I'm not happy we lost but it gives me joy that a team like that got to win if we didn't!
Shoutout to Fittske, reelo, pablomcdad, fajn, getviolator, swindlem elonzz and solen greatplayers and great guys

Really bad scheduling on dreamhack part - being forced to play that much in a row with no rest is kinda ludicrous, and since HoN had the day2 spot for finals they realized they couldn't push the schedule back and forced you guys to play out your games onto 6am.

Its remarkable that you guys won every game in the BYOC, props for that -- hopefully you'll qualify next time and wont have to do the BYOC to get in the tourny.

They won the BYOC and chose to play tournament A instead of B because they would most likely gain more from that one....? What is there to be pissed about?

I find it funny how you all turn on TIG because they forfeited for their own wellbeing.

While it is unfortunate to see, i still support you guys

No real excuse, yes shitty organizing but really really pussied out. If I was your sponsor I would be dropping you straight away. Hey heres some gear and your tickets and hotel money and food, oh your tired, dw about it then stay in bed and get your 8 hours.... This is possibly a once in a lifetime (maybe not for some) opportunity and you guys complain about only having 4 hour sleep? I promise you, everyone on that team will regret that decision one day in the future.

Well apparently they were 1-3 up until forfeiting... I would have dropped out too if I had another tournament I could play in when I couldn't win the other one (DreamHon).

Even if they weren't involved in the Swedish tournament, the BYOC team was set up to be shafted pretty hard either way. Having to both play the same 7 games as everyone else and the entire BYOC tournament.

Actually....I've been to DOZENS of counter-strike tournaments from beta 4 to 1.6 that had very similar schedules and ended up running over time and resulted in little or even no sleep before the next days matches. Including CXG, IPX, Rival, and many other tourneys. So yes, it does happen and I'm sure its happened for other games too. Especially in HoN where games can run anywhere from 15min to 80min. There is no way you can schedule a match for a certain amount of time and expect it to happen every time. This clearly shows that YOU have no competitive experience in any game...

On one hand I'm sympathetic with TiG, I would probably go for the easy money too. On the other hand I am a bit disappointed because really, this was only a 24 hr event...drop a few rockstar\redbulls and get back in there. This is not an every month tourney, this is something that happens only TWICE a year and like previously stated maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity for some players. Learn to man up, really. If you can't live on 3hrs of sleep for a chance at $60k, then it only shows what kind of effort you're willing to put forth in life, in relationships and your job...kinda sad.

they had already lost hte tournament. pretty much 1% chance to stay in it and they'd be wearing out more and more - better to sleep and go for second tourny.
they only forfeited when they were 1/3 at which point it was next to impossible getting into the semis

I don't get the hate from people. They forfeit after there was no chance for them to move on. Fntc and BxF was 5/2, tdm and TTeS were 5/1 before they played each other.

    See what I'm getting at?
With 3 losses you would never be able to advance in the tournament, so they admitted defeat and tried to go as far in the other tournament, that they'd have had to forfeit if they wanted to play the rest of the Dreamhack games.

So they could either play in a tournament were they'd not win anything, or play in the finals of another tournament.

That choice should be pretty simple, even for the manager or owner of TiG.

Did no one watch tig vs fntc where chessie bought a bkb but was too tired to remember he had it?

I'll put up a grand on any team that is willing to get out of their timezobe, play 15 matches in a row over 48 hours, then win 8 straight matches against the best 4 teams in the world. Because that's what you are suggesting tig should have done.

This thread is mostly people who have limited or no experience of sleep deprivation talking big.
