While I agree with the rest of your post, this part is wrong. Fnatic has won 1 game against Na`Vi, and it was game 2 of a Bo3 series where Na`Vi picked obvious troll heroes. Just wanted to clear that up But I agree that the HoN scene is looking strong and there is nothing un-sportsmanlike in trying to play under horrible conditions and then decide not to continue.

    I see both sides.

I imagine the decision to play both events was made on a schedule they agreed with. If the event had gone according to schedule, would they have dropped out? That it didn't go according to the posted schedule means they could do whatever they want. It was a broken premise.

I'll put up a grand on any team that is willing to get out of their timezobe, play 15 matches in a row over 48 hours, then win 8 straight matches against the best 4 teams in the world. Because that's what you are suggesting tig should have done.

This thread is mostly people who have limited or no experience of sleep deprivation talking big.
Perhaps they shouldn't have signed up for the BYOC, eSport SM and potentially the main event then?

I apologize, I may have made that sound a bit embellished than it actually was. No, Fntc has not won a series against NaVi. Thank you for clarifying.

Haven't you read Chessies "new" post at all?! They were told by several admins that they could participate in both tournaments without problems. + Like someone else mentioned Phil said on the Mobacast (?) stream several times that all teams would get 6+ hours of sleep. Even the BYOC.

Wow some people are really ignorant and just want to make others look bad.

I really don't get why so many turns against us on this calling us out for playing two tournaments at once. What you don't seem to understand was that we had contacted several admins before the tournament and came to the understanding that it would be OK playing both simultaneously. However, our sleep wasn't even affected by playing the swedish tournament, as the groupstage (3 matches) was played from 16-20 before the BYOC even begun. So then we were qualified for the semi-finals, and BYOC went on far longer then S2 expected. We were told before the BYOC finals that the DreamHon games that were supposed to be played afterwards was going to be postponed to the next day due to the extreme delay. Nobody was even happy when we won the BYOC, as we should have been, we were simply too tired there already. After we were done though they announced that they had changed their minds and we were still forced to play, so what could we do really? We played our best and it didn't work out, came back to the hotel at around 07:00, we also allowed some guys from MoNo to sleep at our hotel, it was so crowded (imagine 6 people in a hotel with 3 beds, fukken pallet haxxeren and our manager fuush got a room of their own) which made it even harder to sleep. I think we slept for 2h tops, and I already brought up conceding the tournament at this point because we were literally going to play like retards. Haxxeren really wanted to play though so we decided to give it a shot with the little sleep we had, and on top of this Haxxeren was also sick. When we woke up even he didn't want to play, but we had come this far so we said that we'd give it our best in the first few games, if it didn't work out we would go for the swedish tournament instead.

So basicly we had to go up against the best teams in the world, in LAN-enviroment, with two ours of sleep. We didn't even have time to get breakfast or anything, and the games we played was just so horrible for us. Nothing worked out at all, we just played on auto-pilot and did barely bother about what we picked. So here we were, with 1-3 in stats in our games, and everyone was so tired and you can imagine the team-spirit when NOTHING works and you have to play against such good teams. You have to be on top, else you won't win games. Either we could go home empty-handed and play two more pointless games, or we could get to play at DreamArena Extreme (http://www.techsweden.org/bilder/kG0Z/dhw10-46.jpeg) against MoNo in the finals and be sure to bring home some cash that would make the trip worth.

Sure call us pussies that don't belong to play HoN or whatever, if you would have been there you would have done the same. Its easy to sit home and talk ****, but this is not how tournaments should be run. I have been playing several tournaments before, both in HoN and World of Warcraft, and none of them were ever like this.

Also you talk about that our sponsors should be mad etc, why should they really? We did the best out of a bad situation, we could have gone home empty-handed instead we brought in some money.

And a last addition, if we knew that we would have to play to 06:00 after the BYOC was done, at least I would gladly have passed on our spot to MoNo to just aim on the swedish cup. It was simply too hard to win games when you are that tired, make a few mistakes like running up a pushed lane that's being baited like Fnatic do so well, and then ur entire game is lost.

    Thanks for hearing me out!
I had a hard time figuring out why I was mad at TiG since it seems perfectly reasonable to forfeit a tournament that they had no chance of winning. Then I realized... they're a bunch of little whiny *****es.

You know what? It was unfair that the tournament organizers told them that they could play in both tournaments with no issue. It was unfair that bad scheduling led to the team only getting three hours to sleep. It was unfair that they then had to go play without even time to get breakfast (boohoo, btw). Yeah, the tournament was unfair for them. But when life is unfair, people with even a modicum of self worth don't sit in a corner and whine (e.g. TiG), they MAN THE **** UP AND WIN ANYWAYS.

Complaining that two-three hours of sleep is a big deal? ****, people do harder things successfully on two-three hours of sleep every ****ing day. If I were TiG's sponsor, I'd drop the team, not because they did anything unethical, but because having a group of *****es representing my organization isn't a good look.

YEA! Sponsors should drop TiG and pick up real men like you! Real men like you never type anything on game forums! Real men like you would never take something that doesn't apply to you or affect you in the slightest completely personal!

In fact, you're such a real man, this'll probably piss you off too and you can tell me to go **** myself, right?

    Man the **** up, right?

You know what, YOU should apply for TiG! They could probably use a real man like you!

    Exclamation points!!!!!

Can't be bothered to look at the schedule, but Orange was one game off of a tie breaker with the other three teams @ 5/2.

I can see both sides to this.. I don't agree with a team that just drop out after being qualified so that other teams that have the possibility to achieve higher results after BYOC are now having no chance to qualify especially players that flew to DHS12 to play in BYOC like swindlemelonzz, Franzzii, and others.

But then again, I do understand why they did this, winning only 1 game out of 4 matches with 3 games that were a lost, they simply cannot get to Semi Finals or even just slim chance to get there considering the strong teams like FnaticRC, Trademark eSports, Tt eSports, and Blackfade are the tough opponents and would need more energy to win them but with few hours sleep, they probably don't have any more energy to. So might as well just drop out to play in Swedish Championship to try their luck there and get some money out of it, sadly they lost again in the finals. Oh well - 2nd place is better than nothing though so good job!

Next time, I would advice to just stick with one tournament if you can't handle few hours sleep to play. Playing two tournaments simply will require alot of gametimes and not enough sleep because we all know schedule won't work, there's ALWAYS delays and clashes with games being started at the same times

All the best to the TiG though! <3

Tbh in all prior DH events. The HoN tournament have been severly delayed every time. Thats a fact! You just know its gonna happen. Ddid you look at the schedule beforehand? They "planned" one hour per game in total. Incl. bans, picks etc. Already here you know its going to take longer then planned. Its Bo1 and an very important groupstage, teams are going to play their hearts out and try to pull off the win. Not cc 15.

You know your last game should start 01.00 AM and perhaps finish around 02.00 AM. This being HoN and DH, delay is certain. Calculate atleast 2-3 hours delay, always!
Most people were aware of the insane schedueling that would never work but TiG seemed to be in an dreamworld where all the times would be kept.

Imo I understand your decision and it was probably the right one. But I cant help but feel bad for a team like ORGE that would have been able to qualify via the tiebreaker, had you beaten tDM in your last groupstage match.
Next time plan better and man the **** up when the situation becomes difficult. Only advice I can give you!

Just wrote a long ass post explaining stuff to the ignorant people on here but since hon forums are garbage atm it deleted it. Anyway, moral of the story - ditch the byoc spot for next dreamhack, the concept of it is completely garbage.

terrible attitude and sportsmanship. any other team wouldve played it and probably have made the semi finals simply because the excitement of being at dreamhack and drive from winning the BYOC wouldve kept them going. TiG on the otherhand just gave up because they thought the schedue was unfair and felt tired. how do u expect to win "against the best teams in the world" if u "didn't even want to play"??? thats just a huge slap in the face of the other BYOC competitors (aY, MoNo, FiT). pretty big b1tch out. if you guys didnt have the sh1tty attitude and actually manned up you guys would've been in the grand finals.

What delayed the tournament so much exactly? was it the byoc?
