    TiG's DH Story

    Hello guys!

I just wanted to write this post to clarify some things about our Dreamhack journey. When we started playing we had been told that we could play both the Swedish Championships (3.5k EUR #1 prize) and the DreamHon event as well, so we went on to try playing both. We started to play 16:00 yesterday (saturday) and then we were stuck in games for 13 hours straight until 06:00 in the morning. This gave us 3 hours of sleep and then onto playing again 10:00 in the morning. Nobody even wanted to play at this point, so we just gave it our best in the matches against TTeS and Fnatic. We made so many mistakes and nobody even wanted to play, it was just a complete disaster. So we decided to forfeit the rest of our games and go for the easier competition and make some easy bucks in the other event instead as we were already in the semifinals, and now we're heading up to the big stage to finish the last game vs MoNo and then straight home!

Really horrible event from our POV, it was like the BYOC team didn't even get a fair chance versus the other teams who got way more sleep, but hey what can you do?

Thanks everyone who cheered for us, I'm literally about to faint when I write this, it was fun meeting you all at Dreamhack!

I wrote a really long explaining post but got ****ed and prompted to login again when I posted, but this will have to do =)

Not trying to be an ahole here but really as i see it there were teams who got allmost got the same amount of sleep as you did and still did fine(pretty sure last year it was fnatic who were in your shoes having to play super late and beating teams who sleept for a good while the next and still won the thing). and for the record this happens every year and this is first time somebody quits beacuse of it.

Though still i can understand why anyone would quit at such a point.

Last year, no team had to play until 4am+.
Props to the teams, even TiG. It's simply not proper conditions to play.

Pretty sure I recall same problems in both dh's last year...

Yes it's a bad schedule in the first place in addition to all the delay but you only got 1 hour less sleep than Fnatic and BxF (at least according to the schedule) so it's not like you didn't have a fair chance.

i respect their desision. however its ashame they ruined the chanses of another byoc team like ay man, fit or swindlez team

    1. Nobody had to play this late at previous DH, they had to play to like 3 am at latest..
    2. The team coming in from BYOC had to play sooo many hours STRAIGHT, the others team are playing 2 matches then have pause while other teams play 2 matches and so on.
    3. The people behind these tournies (eSport SM and DreamHoN) ****ed up, TiG shouldn't get the blame

Excuses like fnatic/Xteam did it last year by no means justify the screw up the dreamhack guys in charge did.
They had the right to play under normal circumstances, didn't they?

Hope TiG at least wins the Sweedish thing, it would be a nice compensation. Also always copy your post before clicking "submit".

Badluck TiG, best of luck in your other event <3

Im pretty offended by the forfeit, as its a huge sign of disrespect to the other teams that participated in the BYOC for a chance to reach the main event. Cant believe that a team which still had theoretical chances to advance had the mindset of "nobody wanted to play", especially when they "decided to forfeit the rest of the games and go for the easier competition and make some easy bucks in the other event". Choose one or the other, instead of putting on a half-arsed effort. Sucks for MoNo.

Schedule was inconvenient, not an impossible feat. Even if the blame for delays lies elsewhere, TiG made a douche move. Should have atleast played until they were 100% out, or pulled the miraculous qualification.

(Regards: 1,5 hours of sleep on the front seat of a car and going strong till the finals)

The guys in charge are S2, we admins from dreamhack are supposed to act as help and make sure that everything works. This situation could've been avoided but prioritizes were made and help won't do any good if it's not accepted. I must add thou that the issue with E-sports SM and Dreamhon's schedule colliding is a ****ed up story that can be blamed mostly at dreamhack thou.

I beleive going for the EZ money were the way to go, Fntc, TteS, BxF and tdM is too tough of a challenge ina bo3 for you anyways =]

Im pretty sure that multiple other teams had roughly the same amount of sleep if not very similiar atleast.

This is so unfair to the other competition you had to face in the BYOC. Yes, you did beat all them teams, but then just to forfeit? Pathetic.

Many people were talking about TiG to be favorites but many had in mind that their lan experience isnt that big and it seems like they havent been used to this kind of lan events like Fnatic+ TteS is. So i think the teams remaining in the tournament has deserved it.

Pathetic. You automatically took an entire team out of the group stage that would have been willing to play. Don't enter events you can't compete in, especially two in one setting.

And really, how much energy does it take to run armadon and zephyr? You only need to worry about two buttons, no problem.
