Why is intentionallyy killing a rune not enough to warrant a guilty verdict?

As usual, RAP has failed to punish an obvious griefer. I was just told that my report was in a 'grey' zone and therefore the offender was merely warned. In the replay, you can clearly see the player in question DESTROY a rune. He didn't just pick it up for himself instead of letting me bottle it (which should also be considered griefing but I digress). He killed it right in front of me making sure to wait until after I had used all my bottle charges. Not only did the player I'm referring to intentionally kill a rune just to grief, but he also admitted in chat that he was disgruntled due to feeding his lane several kills minutes earlier. RAP banned me only weeks ago for killing a friendly item which I thought was an enemy bound eye, yet can't ban a player who intentionally attacks a rune multiple times. I can't say I'm surprised.

    Match ID is 92334113

Multiple times or one time ? At first you said he killed A rune and then you say he killed it MULTIPLE times.
You should make your post clear.

Also, why don't you just appeal this "grey" zone ticket ?

I also think that killing a SINGLE rune is in the grey zone.
He killed a rune by attacking it multiple times. What is hard to understand?

Just by saying he killed a rune is enough. You don't need to mention how many times he attacked it.

Also, I edited my post and right after that I saw your answer.

*EDIT* Please delete the Match ID Number. It is against the forum rules.

DO NOT POST SPECIFIC MATCH NUMBERS OR PLAYER NAMES IN THIS FORUM

Attacking it multiple times means it wasn't just a misclick or accident. He knew exactly what he was doing and chose to continue destroying the rune.

In 2 of my previous posts, I already gave you the link in order to appeal this grey zone ticket and told you that match IDs are not allowed.

If a GM answers to your thread he will just close the thread and say to you that you should appeal it if you think that it's wrong.

If you read the appeal page before you link it next time, you would realize that it says the forum is only for accounts with an active suspension. I linked match ID to make it easier for a GM to answer my question.

Per this thread under item destruction, destroying a tablet/powerup is never against the Rules of Conduct.

However I personally disagree with this one, as tablets can be as valuable as any other item. I'll bring this up with Feanux and we'll discuss a possible rule change. If we decide to enable it I will personally review your ticket and retroactively reverse it for inspiring the change.

That is an incredibly stupid rule (and yes I clicked the link and read the CoC). There are VERY few times when destroying a rune is warranted. In fact, I'd go as far to say that many HoN players have never seen one of those times. Furthermore, almost nobody (including myself) has seen one of those times and then gone on to make the correct play by destroying the rune. Besides, the player in question that destroyed this rune is not even skilled enough to identify those times, much less act on them. Given the context of his actions, it's incredibly obvious that this was pure griefing. It's also sad that it has taken this long to merely inspire discussion on this rule.

I do not make the rules. I only know the rules and canvas the forum to help answer the public's questions.

Like I said I will bring this up with those who can change the rules.

From what I'm understanding here, the player in question only killed 1 rune and was hence warned for it. Most likely the player had no previous bans and for such a... minor offense was only given a warning. Not sure why such a huge fuss has been made over this thread.

You drop your boots to buy an HP potion from the outpost. I destroy your boots while they are on the ground. But hey, it was only 1 time. I guess a warn is good enough, right?

    Nope.

    Nope.
A free rune is not 500g spent by the player, destroying a singluar rune on a single occasion was enough to get a warning-- most likely because the offender did not have a history of griefing.

There are times that destroying a rune is fine. If I see a rune, such as regen or invis, that will not help any myself teammate nearby or myself, I feel it's best to destroy it to not give the other team the opportunity to make use of it.
