Demon hunters are designed to be a glass cannon an even at 400 resistances will still be getting one shotted by elites in act 3. Every monster requires micro managing an dodging 100% of the skills. Bad situations are when you spawn with an elite monsters without any room to kite it through the level. Its better to have about half the level to kite it through.
You have to get used to the fact that the hitboxes on D3 are off as well. Things that you thought you moved out of the way of still end up hitting you anyway. Every mistake is a reset on the healthbar an another round at kiting it through small spaces. I don't want to listen to a wizard talk about getting through content. Wizards aren't even designed to be a dodging hit an run class.
Molten, vortex an extra health are tedious for DHs an Reflect Damage is impossilbru for us.
Get back to me after you clear inferno on a DH.

Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic. My Demon Hunter is currently in Act 3 of Inferno. I like Demon Hunter a lot for the reasons you describe; I feel pretty pro killing Belial when literally the only way to kill him is to perfectly dodge every attack he does on me.
I'll point out though that pretty much everyone everywhere has agreed that Demon Hunter is the "easiest" class for this reason. She's the best at kiting, she does insane damage, and she can get through most of Inferno undergeared just by avoiding taking hits, something a Monk or a Barb simply cannot do, period. DH is not the hardest class to play whatsoever. I'd say Witch Doctor and Monk are the most underpowered, but it's mainly just that they are more gear-dependent. In hardcore every class is pretty balanced in terms of how much gear they need to effectively progress. My friend plays a hardcore Demon Hunter and he's just beaten the Butcher. He's got 40k health and 65k dps.

The difference is. Barbarian, Monk, an wizard. Gear your character correctly an you will be able to get through inferno taking a couple of hits. Barbarian an monk played correctly an geared better than something a half assed monkey would do our absolutely ridiculous an can do things that a DH would never dream of. Or take the DH alternative an be a glass cannon an get one hit koed by every mob insight. Pass through content by skipping some of it with invisibility or kiting it for so long that your eyes begin to burn because you haven't got a chance to blink. DH might be able to pass through content undergeared but that doesn't change the fact that other classes geared correctly will see some form of progression. DH's progression is going from getting 1 hit koed to getting 2 hit koed with 2 million armor pieces.
The fact that you have played a demon hunter an support their current state is beyond anything I could begin to interpret.
When I purchased this game I didn't purchase a bullet hell game. I purchased Diablo. I don't feel special because I can hit my A button to dodge a flying spear coming off screen or get out of jailer with it.
Don't put out the public opinion of class balance. I mean for gods sakes you have played WoW an HoN an your still doing that?

...Demon Hunter isn't harder to play than any of the other classes.
The "public opinion" I am releasing is taken from public surveys from Reddit, which is a fairly intelligent Diablo community. There is a definite agreement that Demon Hunter is the easiest class to progress on, simply because you can skip content easier and as long as you can avoid things you don't need to invest in HP gear.
My friend who is in Inferno Act 2 on Hardcore doesn't get two-shot, he as a much more tanky build that is reliant on Shadow Power. He doesn't use the glass cannon build because it only works in softcore. I think the glass cannon route is really cheap and feels unrewarding, which I think you would agree with. My advice to you is to try to make a build you like better, go back to an earlier act, and try to get better gear.
I don't really like the way Demon Hunter is right now either, or at least how she is usually being played (heavy reliance on SS and Nether Tentacles). I would rather play using the character's more fun skills, like Strafe, Grenades, etc. You need really good gear to use any of that, and still it doesn't feel good enough to be worth not going the easy route of pure glass cannon and just accept that you die a lot.
Anyway, you seem really biased towards your class.

Barbarian an monk can skip content pretty well. My group can run through ( skipping monsters) the heart of sin with half ass tanking gear on barb an monk. My wizard friends have greatly reduced damage an seem to be better off building defense than a demon hunter is.
Lets see how he fairs in act 3 / 4. Damage is scaled up quite a bit.
This is what a GOOD demon hunter build is. Enough damage to pass through content combined in with enough resitances to tank a couple hits. Did I mention you get all of this for 100 dollars or 30 million gold.

This is no different from any other class. I don't see your point at all. Your example with your friend is pretty insignificant.

Or barb or monk where you are basically a walking god with medium damage output.
Basically I am implying that melee an other classes will scale into almost unkillable machines with gear. DHs don't do this an will be kiting all day ereday. Being able to skip past content doesn't mean ****. Its not about getting to act 4 it is about being able to farm some good gear.

OR you could just stack damage on demon hunter and kill Diablo in under 2 minutes with gear for less than 100$?
There's no point in getting surviviability.
“You promised me Scout,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
Scout replied,
“The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
I can confirm that DH is the easiest class.
Finished inferno with 40k dps and 10k hp.
Do you have 1 mil? If so, you can beat inferno, bro.
You are extremely biased and you refuse to admit it.
You can't farm the best content if you can't even get to it, and demon hunter can get to it very easily.
And don't kid yourself, smoke screening isn't hard. Reflect damage mobs are tedious but most mobs are easy to kill, and you never need health potions, life on hit, or anything. It seems obvious now that you just aren't that great at the game and have become convinced it sucks to justify it.
