I was one of the blessed 2% who got to experience inferno mode an all it glory. Cough Cough. Couldn't they of just remade D2 with diablo 3's graphics. That would of been better in my opinion.
Blizzard just decreased the number of brain cells required to play the game. The game is essentially the same to me.

Meh the character progression doesn't feel right for me at all. Buy out some of the best gear on the auction house an I still have problem with elite monsters. Atleast belial was a worthy boss compared to elite mobs.
Maby torchlight 2 will give me a similar feel to diablo 2. Although I heard some complaints about the beta.
Subjective opinion is subjective. Inferno is still good fun for me.

Viole on why I am in spotlight videos.
Aye D3 is an abomination. I played both beta's (and d3 as a game mind you) but I enjoyed TL2 a hell lot more than D3.
Spent about 40 hours onto TL2 beta, can't wait. (That and Borderlands 2)
Hear hear!Couldn't they of just remade D2 with diablo 3's graphics.
*rolls eyes*
You must be one of the people who played D2 after it had been patched for years.
D3 isn't perfect, even though I think it has a lot of really polished gameplay. There's definite tweaks needed to be made to the endgame. Give it a while and it will be fixed. Blizzard had very little, if any testing of the absolute late game. None of them even beat Inferno.

The game is trash. Inferno is ****ing trash. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a blind Blizzard fanboy. I've posted the reasons too many times to count already on the D3 forums, but I'll repeat some of them here.
-Terrible story. For a game rated Mature the best they could come up with is Belial disguised as a kid. Good one. Story would make a perfect Saturday morning kid's cartoon.
-Itemization. There's so many things wrong with the items. They're boring, especially compared to D2. At least D2 had fun and interesting modifiers. In D3 it's just main stat/vit/res/armor/movespeed/attackspeed/mf/gf.
-And then there's how worthless the drops are. D2 was about item hunting, D3 is about gold farming. And that's because you can't progress through act 2 with the drops in act 1, because they're ****ing garbage. Only items farmed in act 3 and 4 can get you through act 2. So you end up farming act 1 just for gold so you can then go to the AH and buy items farmed by people who cheesed through the game and exploited every possible treasure pigmy spawn and purple mini boss.
-Now the gold grind itself wouldn't be bad, if it weren't for how terrible the gameplay is. The game is just a boring, tedious kitefest. At least farming in D2 consisted of quick and easy boss runs. D3 makes you spend 20 minutes per run looking for elite packs that you can then kite and pick away at only to get one shotted if you get hit. The shitty gameplay combined with the shitty loot makes it completely unrewarding to play. It's a shitty version of Super Meat Boy, because at lleast SMB didn't have respawn timers and was actually satisfying when you beat a level.
-Cookie cutter builds. For a game that claimed to have 2.8 trillion builds and a lot more customization, it's a joke. Inferno is so stupidly cheap and artificially difficult that people end up having to go pure glass canon as ranged just to make any progress. And when I say artificially difficult, I don't mean Inferno is hard. It takes no skill to beat, just the time and dedication required to farm and grind for gold while playing a tedious and extremely boring game with cheap mechanics. Korean MMO's have more fun and rewarding grinds than this game.
-Enrage timers. Does nothing but serve as a gear check in a poorly designed and tested mode. What is this, WoW?
-Class imbalance. Playing a melee character? Good luck, because you're screwed.
And Blizzard did beat Inferno. They had it to the point where they thought it was challenging. Then Jay Wilson in his infinite wisdom decided to just double the numbers. The game should definitely still be in beta with how bad it is.
The game reeks of greed. You can tell that every game design decision was made purely with money in mind. Real Money Auction House. They watered down the game and made it for casuals so they could sell as many copies as possible. They didn't give any ****s about their actual fanbase and what a Diablo game should be about. A completely one dimensional game about loot can't even do loot right? Blizzard is terrible now.

Except for the enrage timer bit, I'd say you're also describing D2 Flutter.
BTW don't say anything about cookie cutter builds. That crap was in D2- Sorcs? Frozen orb or meteor. Paladins? Hammerdin and MAYBE Zealers. List goes on, but as Leyst said, opinions are opinions. I for one love the game.
Fluttershy you were defending it in the other thread. When did you change your mind?
Beat inferno a while back, kinda boring.
They should have swapped boss and champion/rare difficulty. So silly to have the final boss easier than champions in act 2.
get them restored!
why the authenticator isn't free kinda boggles my mind.
Just don't play in public games. Thats how most people get hacked.
Clearly you didn't read my post, because I'm directly contrasting D3 and D2 in almost every point. I'll reiterate.
-Itemization. There's so many things wrong with the items. They're boring, especially compared to D2.
D2 had runewords, jewels, skulls, horadric cube recipes, all those things made their item system better than D3. You could also farm Mephisto on NIGHTMARE and get useful drops for Hell. How is that the same as D3 where you need Act 3/4 Inferno drops to progress through Act 2? It's not the same at all and it's much worse in D3.
Gold was basically useless in D2 except for gambling. In D3 it's all about gold and you farm for it rather than items. That was not the case in D2.
D2 had cookie cutter builds, but it also had a lot more builds that were viable in Hell. D3 claimed to have more customization than D2, but it does not.
Oh, and just because D2 was flaws, doesn't mean D3 should have the same flaws. A decade in development and no improvements and just doing the things that were good before worse?
Playing the game past normal and getting to inferno changed my mind.
Why they don't just implement a PIN system (or something like SteamGuard if they actually gave a **** about security) boggles my mind. Considering most account compromises are because of phishing and compromised forum databases, making users create a PIN to go with their account would eliminate those two attacks. The only thing it wouldn't protect against is keyloggers.
Well hey, you ended up on the right team anyway.Playing the game past normal and getting to inferno changed my mind.
Hopefully we can get a forum group together to play Torchlight 2.
