and im laning iwth a melee with a hatchet who also wants CK's, what do i do? Because its insanely hard to get CK's when laning iwth a melee with hatchet
So how do you get farm on lane like that? thank you!
Ps: for clarity's sake, i have no problems ck'ing vs the enemy , its the CK battle with your own teammate that is the problem
Whenever I am in this situation i'm heavily underfarmed after laning phase
It's simple, you don't get farm on lane like that. You spend most of the midgame farming someplace to catch up.
if you have farm priority over the melee hero you ask him to stop ck.
if he doesn't stop taking ck then let him have it and focus on winning the lane instead. Speaking of which, winning the lane is more important than which hero gets farm the first 5 min. It's your job as the ranged hero to establish lane control.
Conceptually, Ranged+Melee lanes where the ranged hero is the farmer are completely retarded. What's the melee hero even supposed to be doing there?

I dont see the problem with magmus FA lane , or pharao valk lane, etc
But yeah you're right about the not having ck and just farm midgame , too bad in 1500-1600 games, when i go farm solo midgame i get flamed![]()
well mag, pharaoh, behe, maybe blacksmith are unusual for melees in that they are dangerous in the lane even at relatively low level and without farm. Most other melees dont have some amazing level 1/2 skills they can kill with, and rely on farming up at least a lifetube or something, and just then winning the lane by attrition.
For a jera+ranged carry setup for example, I'd rather have the jera farm an early RoS and win lane than to have him sitting at xp range at 50% hp and no mana after having run out of regen items, while the ranged carry is being denied by enemy melee. All because carry tries to take farm in any situation without thinking.

Cant see why 2 carries like that would lane together anyways. If he really is getting all the CKs u just might want to harras alot and try set up a hero kill instead which also gives u cash even if he KS.
you guys must be playing a different hon than me for sure, ... people actually picking usefull picks? No way
So many times kids have fought over whether Chronos or Silho gets the shortlane, then they both go there and fail hard because neither can break 150gpm, meanwhile I'm manning up soloing the suicide with pharaoh and would have been perfectly happy to let the Silho have all of the farm in that lane.
Let them die and cs while they're gone. Rinse and repeat. If they're taking farm over a ranged carry they're usually bad enough to be out of position often.

Throw attacks at creeps just as he's going in to lasthit it - any time he swings too early you'll get the kill instead, plus this makes it more difficult for the other guys to deny it. You can also safely take lasthits that the melee guy can't go for without putting himself dangerously out of position (often the ranged creep, which is also the one worth the most gold). Other than that, there's literally nothing you can do in this situation - the melee guy with the hatchet is going to get most of the CS whether you like it or not, so apart from avoiding this situation in the first place you should just be patient, avoid death, and concentrate on winning the lane. You can always pick your farm up later provided you don't get crushed in the first ten minutes.
also, make sure you get 2 duck boots and 2 minor totems if you are srs about killing creeps.
Nice advice, stay 1400Let them die and cs while they're gone. Rinse and repeat. If they're taking farm over a ranged carry they're usually bad enough to be out of position often.

Harass and kill the enemy. Pull and take last hits on the neutrals. Take last hits your laning partner can't get to. Basically play like you'd play a support hero letting your carry get all the last hits in lane.
+1 for sarcasm, but -1 for missing the point. Valk/Mag would be an awful lane composition if Magmus bought a hatchet and was taking farm from a Valk. If Mag is doing what he's supposed to do in a Ranged Semi-Carry focused lane, then, yes, it is an awesome lane composition. Similar to a Valk/Hammer or FA/Behe, etc.
That being said, if Pharoah is in a sidelane, he should generally be the one getting the farm since he will (on equally skilled players) have a greater impact at earlier stages of the game than most ranged semis, therefore, it's probably a really bad idea to lane him with a Valk/FA/Silh who ALSO needs farm.
Hammer, while Pyro concentrates on lane control. Even without farm, Pyro can do that, since it's level based and you get the same experience simply by being there. Hammer is also far better at last hitting.
In a lane like that, both heroes are going to get farm anyway because you should be making kills. Even without hero kills though, Hammer should farm.

The problem here is the retarded meele picking up a hatchet when laning with a carry.
Let's imagine for example+
, I don't mid Magmus going for the last hits while Valk harasses the enemies. Just don't buy a freaking hatchet on magmus pls, buy some regen and stats so you can stay in the lane longer and use your stun more often.
The same principle applies to every meele laning with a ranged carry (![]()

etc...), their job in the lane is not to afk farm, is to win the lane.
