    Official GPM formula

    Hi,
    as the threadtitle already say I am looking for the correct formula for the GPM. I browsed this forum and ofcourse google. But I didnt find anything satisfying.

    I have one little problem when I am watching VODīs and replays. Here are my thoughts:

    Person A: Farms 30 minutes straight at a rate of 300 gpm. 30*300 = 9000 Gold earned.
    Person B: Farms 15 minutes at a rate of 150 and 15 minutes at a rate of 300 gpm = 6750 Gold earned.

    Shows the gpm (ingame or replays) now the actual rate you are farming in the last minute, or the last couple of minutes or really just your whole gold earned during the game?
    So if you catch up to your opponents GPM you got exactly the same amount of gold?
    Last question is: Do death counts toward GPM (direct decrease of gpm)? I have the feeling that it does but I am not quite sure from ine informations I read.

    GPM is an average across the entire game up to the moment you're viewing. You may have 1000+ GPM at the current minute due to farming stacks or getting several hero kills + tower, but your GPM for the game 300. AFAIK, any loss of gold (not from purchasing items) affects your GPM.

    I was under the impression GPM stood for Gold Divided by Minutes. When you die, you lose gold, so yea it has an affect on your GPM, if you buy items and die with exactly 0 gold on hand, it will not affect your GPM, only make you waste time waiting to respawn, ultimately lowering your gpm.

    its like your total gold earned (and lost) untill this very moment divided by time passed. would make the most sense

    Do buybacks lower your GMP? Just curious.

    If you hover your mouse over the amount of gold you have it shows all your total gains from killing creeps, buildings, heroes, ect. It also show the total amount of gold lost form death (which is the only type of gold loss that affects GPM). To find your GPM over a specific time period only, you sum up the gold gained and lost over that time period and divide by the number of minutes. Remember to add 69 after that because every player gets an extra 69 GPM in tick gold

    GPM = [Time*480/7 + Gold Gained - Gold Lost on Death] / [Time]

    Notes:
    -"Time" is game time in minutes, beginning at 0:00 at creep spawn
    -the 480/7 term is how much gold is naturally gained per minute ("gold tick"), approximately 68.57
    -"Gold Gained" includes all additional income from killing creeps, heroes, assists, towers, neutrals, kongor, using alch bones, etc.
    -spending gold on items or buybacks does not effect your GPM at all, but may help by reducing the amount of gold lost on death
    -selling items does not effect your GPM at all (money gained from sale of items is not added to "Gold Gained" nor to "Gold Lost")
    -your 603 starting gold is not factored into GPM

    so basicly you can calculate gpm of teamates or enemies if oyu can estimate the gold gained.

    Yes. Assuming no buy-backs or items in stash...

    GPM = [Value Of All Items In Inventory + Total Gold Unspent - 603] / Time

    Its possible, hero panels II has this feature.
