This is just a guess, but I would imagine the reason they left FRAY is because their sponsorship offered pretty much nothing, and would get all the glory without actually doing anything for the players. Looking back in time, I'll use DWi as an example. They only signed with coL because they had agreed to send the team to events like Dreamhack and NASL finals. Same with SK signing team 5 back in the day. There is no reason to have a sponsor when 95% of all competition is held online, and now with S2 paying for the travel of the teams who were invited to DreamHoN that 5% is even less of a reason to have a sponsor.
Sponsorships are a two way conduit. The sponsor helps the team by providing gear, funds for bootcamping and travel, and other various necessities. In return the team attends events, wins tournaments, and markets the sponsor to eSports fans from across the globe. I remember hearing on one of the players streams that it was the players themselves who put up funds to send their team to Dreamhack Winter last year. I can understand a sponsor being a little hesitant to jump in for 10-13K, but after their 2nd place finish and their recent successes (placed top 3 in basically every event since Dreamhack Winter) the only reason I can see for the team to jump ship is because FRAY wasn't doing anything to support the team.
Also, this looks like a sponsorship directly from Tt eSPORTS, which is quite impressive considering its not something like MuFC or Infused where they are just a main sponsor of the named team. Looking forward to a SLiCKz mousepad and dabeliuteef mice :P
S2 has their hand in this pie, 100%. No sponsor will sponsor a HON team without incentives from S2.
Hey,
I am the community and eSports manager for Thermaltake Australia & New Zealand (I'm in the OP) and I manage the partnership between the Tt eSPORTS HoN team and my company.
I can assure you that S2 games are not part of this sponsorship and they don't provide any money to us or the team![]()
Well, if that's the case, then I apologize. I was wrong. I'm very surprised, though. It just doesn't strike me as a feasible investment, and the way sponsors have treated their teams in this game and across many games has always been profit-driven and utilitarian. Good luck though. Maybe you know something about what's coming that we don't.
I'll take this opportunity to ask about something I had actually completely forgotten about: HONTOUR. Where is it? I stopped playing HON 2.5-3 months ago and that was when a tiny bit of information was finally given out about format and prize pool. Now I'm reading the forums again and posting and there's still nothing, after an already interminable wait (actually, it's more like 1+ year and not literally interminable).
S2 Games: Dedicated employees serving dedicated gamers. Continuous development. Never-ending improvement.

I don't really understand why people are allowed to bad mouth HoN in these forums, if you bad mouth dota in the dota forums you get perma banned
Go Titty eSports (easy to pronounce)!
Edit: On second thought, Team Titty sounds cool too.

^ The former fray HoN team has been picked up by Tt eSPORTS of whom are personally sponsoring the side.
Stay tuned guys, in the coming week I will make another thread similar to what I did for DHW that will have all the coverage of the Team Tt eSPORTS team and where to find it.
I meant why exactly did they get dropped? Or did they quit? Bought out? Better offer?
