    Leaver System

    First I'd like to state that I'm a "legacy player" who bought this game when it first came out. It used to be very common for the client to crash mid-game and the reconnect attempt to time-out. I have played 107 public matches on my legacy account with 12 disconnects (11%); I would need to play 129 public games to get my leaver status at a reasonable level. It's an insane dream for me to ever play that many public matches, compared to matchmaking these games take 20 minutes to start up. I had to start up a free account to play any games and have 73 games under my belt with 0 disconnects. I have never "rage quit" a match and have been lucky enough that I haven't the need to bow out of a match early. I have experienced many crashes and disconnects on this free account, the only difference is that I learned to reconnect via console to all of my games. This tip never appears anywhere for a player to pick-up by themselves and it's ludicrous that disconnects are counted for failed reconnect attempts. I've still failed to reconnect a few times using the user interface. It's a joke that I'm expected to pay $20 on top of the $30 I originally paid; just to play the game I already own.

    And you..want us to discuss leaver system mechanics? Like help you calculate the % or something? Because I see no other point in this thread being here instead of GD where rubbish like this is found.

    Good, if you see no point then don't post on the topic. I think it's heavily obvious the mechanics of the leaver system are broken. You shouldn't no longer be able to join matchmaking for disconnects in public games that happened over a year ago. Any slight change to the mechanics would be a suitable fix; for instance slapping leavers with a temporary ban instead of making them try to play catch-up. Another improvement would be a grace period where disconnects are forgiven after so many months or even better that failed reconnects don't count toward leaver status. An even more suitable policy would be that leaves from public games do not count toward matchmaking leaver status. The mechanics of the leaver system could use a slight tweaking and it's just pure laziness and greed to ignore that and slap a $20 price tag on it.
