    Infiltrator

    http://dream.heroesofnewerth.com/her...17/Infiltrator

(Note: The version on the dream website is old.)

As the war rages on, and Legion forces were depleting, a lone priest of Sol decided to serve in the front lines of the war. While Jereziah was at first reluctant of using this priest on the field - for his service to others have done well in the past - seeing as how the war was getting worse, and lives were harder to replace, the choices were limited. The priests became known as the Infiltrator - a soldier who discovered and is outfitted with ancient armor who can topple Hellborne forces by bending holy light. His skill in the holy light even matches those of Martyrs, Valkyries, and even Jereziah himself.

The Infiltrator's gameplay is centered around burst ganking with high amounts of spike physical damage through the use of two damage abilities. He can initiate team fights with Nova and end one with Smite. Unfortunately, his burst damage tapers off later in the game, so amassing wealth through successful ganks is a must.

    Hero's Stats

    ..
    Strength: 14 + 2.2/lvl
    Agility (Primary): 21 + 2.7/lvl
    Intelligence: 20 + 2.0/lvl
    Movement Speed: 290
    Starting Armor: 1.80
    Magic Armor: 5.50
    Attack Range: 600
    Projectile Speed: 1000
    Base Attack Speed: 0.59
    Base Damage: 46 - 48
    Turn Rate: 500
    Attack Action Time: 500ms

    Health: 416
    Mana: 260

    Devotion

    Notes:
    Radius: 600

The Infiltrator's energy of light passively speeds up the movement of allies while also slowing down the movement of enemies.

Passively grants 2%/4%/6%/8% movement speed to nearby allies and -2%/-4%/-6%/-8% movement speed to nearby enemies.

    Go with the flow.

    Backlash

    Notes:
    Radius: 800

The Infiltrator proves he is the true master of controlling the energies of holy light and nature around it, damaging enemies whenever they attack.

Passively applies an aura to nearby enemies that deals physical damage equal to 10%/20%/30%/40% of the damage they deal when they land a successful attack.

    In the speed of light.

    Nova

    Notes:
    Type: Physical
    Mana Cost: 120
    Radius: 400
    Cast Time: 0.4
    Cooldown: 8 seconds

The Infiltrator charges up a blast of holy light around him, dealing damage and stunning enemies around himself.

Activate to instantly deal 75/150/225/300 physical damage to nearby enemies. Enemies are pushed 300 units away from you and are stunned and you gain vision of them for 1/1.3/1.6/2 seconds. Does not reveal invisible units or units that were in fog.

    Too close to the sun.

    Smite

    Notes:
    Type: Physical
    Mana Cost: 200/300/400
    Cast Range: 700
    Projectile Speed: 2000
    Cast Time: 0.25
    Cooldown: 120/100/80 seconds

The Infiltrator lets loose a ray of holy light that rips the target at a molecular level.

Target an enemy to fire a projectile at it, dealing 400/700/1000 physical damage to that unit. Cannot be disjointed.

Oh my God! They killed Kenny!

Special thanks to who ever gives back feedback. This is just a draft at the moment and their are a few skills that I wish to change and update. I hope the formatting is good.

I'd also like to know if this can fit in D2L-2 contest This is not a D2L-2 hero.

    Items:

    Starting

These items are the essential starting items for Infiltrator. It helps get his core items faster, and this is because he is revolved around burst ganking enemies.

    Laning

These items are good for the Infiltrator because he needs the mana to continue ganking and farming. When his ult is on cooldown, he should be able to use Nova to set up kills for his team. When his ult is ready, he should wipe out the enemy carry in one combo.

    Core

Portal Key is core on this hero. He can use it to get into good positions to initiate team fights using Nova. He can also gank more effectively as he can use Portal Key as a distance closer. Phase boots is also helpful for escaping tough situations or chasing down enemies when the enemy has a cosntant damage aura.

Sol's bulwark is very helpful, especially when put on negative. When put on negative, it boost the damage of his spells immensely by lowering the armor of nearby enemies, allowing the Infiltrator to keep his damage up on all stages of the game.

    Luxury

Nullstone is a very good item on Infiltrator as it helps boost his survivability along with easing his mana problems, allowing him to pull off Novas effectively during team fights. Demonic Breastplate also adds dps for the team while also lowering the enemy armor more while also giving yourself and your team armor. Shieldbreaker is for the more daring players who are good at positioning themselves effectively; a high-risk, high-reward item which in return trades survivability for pure damage.

    Avoid These

Helm isn't very useful on Infiltrator. While giving him pure survivability, it doesn't solve his mana problems, and the money should have been invested in nullstone.

Frostburn is an awful item on Infiltrator. The infiltrator isn't a carry and shouldn't be played like one. It gives him little attack damage when you could have done much more by getting a Demonic Breastplate.

Shroud isn't very good either. While can be used to scout out for ganks or escaping, Portal Key is much better for initiating and ganking. Plus you already have Devotion to slow down enemies.

Nullfire Blade is highly situational and should only be used against high threats like Jereziah. Even then, you really have no use for the manaburn.

    Gameplay:

Solo mid, baby! As a burst ganker, you are responsible for getting early levels to gank high priority targets while also maintaining control of the runes. You have 600 attack range with a fast projectile speed, although your early game damage isn't very good. You're lethal against melee heroes although not as much against ranged ones. You have the lowest starting strength in the game, so don't get harassed early on!

Upon reaching level 6, start to gank. Make sure you come from the forest or from juke spots. If the enemy sees you coming, they will never let you get near them. Open up with Nova to stun and finish off with Smite. Do not use Smite to killsteal, as it has a long cooldown.

By 20 minutes you should have a portal key. You can initiate team fights using the blink > nova combo, then smite the squishiest target off the face of the game.

By late game, you should have enough farm to deal damage through your spells and autoattacks. Keep in mind that your spells taper off easily, so that's why you need farm from ganking.

Compare Devotion to Jeraziah's passive - Jeraziah has a 28% slow in about half the radius, 10 less base MS, and no 20% MS buff (which is a quite big limit to the ability due to the small AoE.

Your second skill simply seems like a weaker version of Corrupted Disciples third skill.

I also don't really see the need for the ultimate. I mean Deadwood already has the physical equivalent of a Pyromancer/Witch Slayer ultimate. Do we really need more heroes like that? (Especially considering your ability would appear to be the strongest on lvl6).

I like your formatting, it is very easy to read and follows a logical pattern.
However, I do not like the premise of "warriors dressed in ancient armor" - His skills just don't fit with the hero avatar/art.

I agree with Skyve about your 3rd skill. His ultimate is fine I think, but with an ultimate like that, why not make him a Physical Nuker? Though, being agility I don't see it fitting.

I kinda feel like he is just a weird incarnation of Jereziah though with more burst damage and less tanky.

    P.S How are Priest's Agility? o.o

The first skill isn't that powerful though. 600 radius isn't very much. The second skill, I don't really know what to do with that. I just put it in because he's gonna be in the middle of teamfights, so he might as well have extra "damage".

The reason why I placed that ult there is because a burst ganker needs should a way to be countered by nullstone. With the exception of Deadwood (and possibly Fayde), all burst gankers are can be limited by nullstone. I also wanted a physical damage nuker whose early game damage peaks at level 7.

Also, my hero's strength falls behind later on, and he'll have as much strength as Witch Slayer at level 25. He starts off as the tankiest ranged hero early on but later on...yeah.

I might change the backstory a little, make it ONE priest with ancient armor.

As for Backlash, I don't really know what to do with that. I already built him as a physical nuker in mind (Nova and Smite), and somewhat of an initiator. Also, the reason why he's agility because I'm tired of seeing all most agility heroes a carries. Plus my hero doesn't have much w/o his ult, so I feel like the extra attackspeed is useful, although he's not supposed to scale. (2.7 agi gain isn't that much if you think about it).

Finally, he doesn't really have as much supporting ability as Jereziah.

    __________________________________________

Also testing out this skill that may replace the second skill: Ballistic Blades.

    Mana Cost: 80
    Cooldown: 20/18/16/14

Activate to arm 9 blades that spin around you, lasting for 3 seconds.

The next attack or spell that affects you will cause the blades to shoot outward up to 600 units. Each blade deals 50/100/150/200 physical damage to each enemy it touches.

This is what I suggest - Rework and change your second skill, make your first a Passive/activate - Activate to give allies a 20% ms boost (because a 40% ms "swing" is ALOT). As for wanting your hero(and other burst gankers) to be countered by nullstone I disagree, however, with such a massive nuke, it should be single target (and therefore, contered by nullstone).

I honestly like Nova, but I feel that with his ultimate it doesn't really "fit". Fit as in it WORKS but just is a bit weird. I would look into make his skills just naturally work together, it will probably be hard but if you want it in DL2-2, that's what you gotta do.

The ult is already single target, single outcome.

I did take your suggestion for your first skill, and I replaced the second skill. The synergy between skills E and R are so that you run in (or Portal Key), use E to stun, then use R to finish off. It's kinda like Pyromancer's combo where you stun > nuke > ult.

I'd also like info on base stats too

As for D2L-2, I probably won't apply. I don't really like heroes that require interskill interactions (where one ability gets stronger with another). That's why I'm not fond of Pebbles.

The first skill isn't that powerful though. 600 radius isn't very much.
I don't think you understand what I said. Jeraziah's Aura has an AoE of 300. Your aura's AoE is TWICE as high. AND it does a lot more than just the 28% MS reduction by giving you the highest passive bonus MS there is (and also to your allies).

If you compare your skill to Jeraziah's, the uptime is much higher due to it having double the AoE, which means you will also be getting a much higher uptime out of it. On top of that your hero has 600 attack range, which basically means that as long as you are able to attack someone they are slowed, which is problematic too, because you basically will be able to attack someone most of the time.
Compare to Corrupted Disciple: He has a 12% MS boost with only 300 base MS with only 475 attack range. Your hero does all those three things better. AND has the MS aura, that still has another part added onto it that is also stronger than any compareable ability (Cthulhuphant gets the same amount of slow only if he kills a hero, and then still has 100 less range, and no MS boost, and is still melee).

The reason why I placed that ult there is because a burst ganker needs should a way to be countered by nullstone.
Fayde, Deadwood, Thunderbringer, Pebbles, Bombardier, Artesia, Tundra, Midas, Kinesis, Witch Slayer, Hag all are fine with Nullstones.

    - Too much speed for a ranged hero (600 range)
    - High initial damage for a ranged hero.
    - ult have a high damage and low cast time, but because the cooldown i think its ok.

    He need a nerf.

-Decrease the movement speed or the atk range.
-Decrease the initial atack to 40-42 or 41-43(this because the projectile speed is very fast! I think its same of the flint.)
-Decrease the Damage of ult to 400/600/800, OR , Increase the cast time to 1 second , OR , Decrease the cast range to 400-500.

Barbed Armor... No, I mean Backlash is very OP. A passive Barbed armor with - attspd aura. Either nerf it or rework this skill into an activate target

So will only do damage to those who damaged you within the radius (which is still really big -.-)?

600 radius isn't that big. Considering that a non-carry usually maxes damage at around 140-160. Plus the damage is physical, so it is easily mitigated. 40% and it's around 60 physical each time they attack. An agi carry may have it worse, but considering that their fed, that may not be a problem considering how high their armor is.

Let's compare it to Magebane's aura. It's 800 units and it's 80% of manacost as damage, and more importantly, its MAGIC damage.

Also, the damage is when they attack anything.

And, once again, he doesn't really scale, and he's nothing without his ult. Which has an 80 second cooldown.

That's what I'm debating. 600 is too little, but 1000 is way too huge.
