This is why pk on swiftblade is good
I playedonly for a few days now, 20 games or so thus far, and I think the pk is my biggest "discovery". It's ammong the top guides, but I have never seen it before and it's incredibly strong. It's a freaking pebbles 2.0 in my opinion.
On a lot of heroes you can find the Shroud>Pk syndrome. The first one that comes to your head is, but this is applicable for other heroes too. I have seen shroud on
a few times with decent result, but the things you can do with pk blows my mind. Did you know that you can pk in mid-ult, for example?
has an amazing early game given the right lane. Mid works, but as we all know the
+
/
combo is sometimes too deadly to pass up on. His skills allows him to rush a runed cleaver, which he can easily get at 15 minutes in with bloodlust and one or two more kills. Once this is done, you can push at an amazing rate; solo-pushing in this bracket also tends to be really effective. Frostburn is also great on
but after this, I have found myself to go pk over any other item.
It might be because I am in this bracket (1650 rating now), and because I think shrunken head is for cowards, but at least here it works wonders AND is really fun. If you are in this bracket or are looking for fun smurf heroes, I definately suggest=) Blocking spells with a last second spin like it's a freaking take cover to turn on them is so nice to do.
I get genjuro to sb, but the whole hero is just for the troll games.
E: And dont please buy runed axe to sb... he has spin to farm.

^ eh there is nothing too wrong with runed axe. it's largely picked up because he needs a way to farm decently while keeping his hp up (since no one gets lifesteal early on him and no one ever gets helm on him). i do get genjuro as well on swiftblade, and i think people who don't see that it's pretty core on him now are idiots. he completely lacks any way to get consistent auto attacks on the enemy and his attack speed is complete garbage (you i've seen people get steamboots, which is fine in theory, but not having ghost marchers makes your spin so easy to mess with as you are slower + you can hit things). genjuro fixes both of those problems + adds nice dmg/survival.

Hotbl is actually good on sb, it lets you dive early kills and rambo alot. I still prefer early nullstone and I always can farm with spin almost as good ppl would with runed. Also remember that sb is pretty soft carry lategame and will be destroyed by real carries like tdl, puppet and mm. I checked my hero stats for sb, I have almost 400gpm in avarage sb game. Also I always buy steamboots, cause I will go for genjuro and it will give you easily the mobility you need and with right setup theres no need for phase boots.
yea, i would never get helm on him, but steamboots, null, and genjuro is a nice build
Ghost marchers are the boots to go, you need the extra movement speed early on.
A PK definitely works well, but you seem to play swiftblade more as a semicarry/ganker then a true carry.
Swiftblade is a very good carry thanks to his build in critical strike. His ultimate is very strong too if you get enough attackspeed to hit extra while you ult.
I have seen PK + Staff builds that completely dominated the entire game.
The more traditional build is better if you are going into late game, which I don't see happen that often anymore (The only times it goes into late game I am playing support.. D: )
Ruined Cleaver is a great pickup for the extra manaregen, healthregen and damage early on. It makes him a beast at farming. If you think you that the game will not go in late game a shroud/genjuro pickup is great as well. A Nullstone, Frostburn, Savage Mace, Geometer's/Frostwolf's skull is VERY effective. A Frostwolf's Skull gives you a LOT of hp on a melee agility carry, along with a 30% slow.
But back on topic: A PK is fun, rather good for a semicarry/ganker. IMHO it is not that effective if you want to hardcarry (A blessed orb is more useful => FWS)
Swift is most fun when you play him as a ganker. Get pk or shroud (personal choise, but since you can invis during spin shroud has loads of benefits), ghost marchers or even post haste, codex, hellflower, frostfield plate / staff / resto stone / sheepstick. Try it, feel it, love it!
Back OT: Pk is pretty badass on swift, however any item can be used during his ultimate, and since you get loads of agi from building genjuro instead of pk, I'd rather do that instead when playing him as your standard carry. Reason: Genjuro gives loads of mobility aswell, a very good slow + backstab, and also the wxtra AS which means you potentially get an extra hit during your ultimate.
PK is badass on Swift, but not nearly as much as a Shroud. Shroud can stack with crit allowing you to one or two shot a lot of heroes. Personally, I build Ghost Marchers, then Shroud, then Runed Axe. Yea, it makes you a glass cannon, but your damage is disgusting and your MS/Spin/Ult give you a ton of survivability. The Runed Axe allows you to regen easily and farm like a boss and easily transition into lategame if needed. SB's built-in survivability is so damn good that I have, on many occasions, gone well into lategame without a single +HP item and was still unkillable. His abilities give him stupid good DPS at every point of the game. The last game I played with him, I finished with something like 17-2 in a 45+ min game and have Genjuro, Demonic, Shieldbreaker, Ghost Marchers, Runed Axe. SB is one of those rare instances where the best defense is a good offense.
Long story, short - If you want to play a ganker-Swift, then Shroud to Genjuro gives you SOOO much more than PK. I still see the merit on PK, but you lose so much by taking it over a Shroud that I just can't fathom why you'd do it. The only reason to not get a shroud on Swift is if you're going for the endgame carry role and farming that Ghost>Runed>Abyssal>Frostburn (which I hate).

genjuro was made for swift. he needs a slow + attack speed, and it gives him huge crits coming from invis.
PK is just the best item in the game for every hero. PK MB? PK hag? PK armadon? PK zephyr? PK empath? All amazing

FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY~!
Don't worry guys, Lodestone won't be getting picked up in competitive, your balance forum regulars have assured it in this Lodestone balance thread ;)

Treads, Cleaver, Scepter, Lightning, Harkon's, Spellshards/Crit
Sup.
Whilst there are benefits to using PK on every-hero (ganking, survivability). The question becomes past low-tier mmr; is it the most gold effective item for your hero. When you get PK, and you then have nothing after you have used your ulti; you suddenly become a lot less viable. If however you have shroud you still do damage/attack speed and can still fight. If you are carrying for real, BKB is a big item; and if you got PK/bkb you aren't going to be doing a whole lot, there isn't a synergy there. Shroud + bkb means you can still fight and deal damage; whilst having a lower CD than pk (15s after being used; or if you've been hit 3s). Whereas SBlade being in the middle of the fight will be attacked after his ulti/skill 1 and won't be able to go invis. Oh and lastly skill 1+shroud is just funny.
Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience
Steam Boots, Runed Axe, Genjuro, Shieldbreaker <- awesome build for swift and will be good in almost every single game you play.
Portal Key on swift is nothing new. It isn't core, it is a situational pick-up that is pretty decent.

Will take you opinion on the matter seriosly, so here's a follow up question for you mate:
Why does most ppl tend to go Breaker over Frostburn on swift nowadays? I know the dmg for a rather cheap price with a decent build up is rly cool, but the added survival, mobility and the slow from burn is in my opinion just so much stronger. I mainly play him as a ganker / semi, rather than actually spending the entire game ricing, so for me at least those stats help a lot more. The extra AS u get from burn, little as it may be, also helps your ultimate.
Orb from breaker is just as good as it's always been, I know, but is it really THAT good? Why did breaker knock down frostburn from the top?
Last notice aswell: I'd rather go symbol for hard-carrying, but I'm assuming most good swift's do aswell
^Dunno if you want shamsz answer, but imo genjuro gives everything you mentioned sny do and much more. It has the slow, as, move speed, dmg and ability to gank alot better.
Sb has been picked up a lot since the build up changed to make it more viable and fws got nerfed.

Agree with Ackwell1; Frostburn just isn't as efficient as many of the other items are now.
