The long awaited HoNiversary is here and it marks two fantastic years of Heroes of Newerth. The game wouldn't be where it is today without our awesome players and we're forever grateful for your support. As part of this milestone for HoN, we wanted to introduce a new way for community members to be recognized for their contributions and positive attitude.
An HoNored Poster is someone who has shown exceptional dedication to Heroes of Newerth and the forums. They help other players, promote good discussion, and contribute in a positive manner. S2 Games feels it is important to recognize these upstanding people and thank them in our own special way.
This select group can be easily identified by their special “HoNored” title, located right below their name on the forums. When you see this title, you should know that this person has given a lot to the HoN community and is known for being a good forum poster.
With this in mind, we wanted to select someone who's been around Newerth for a long time, is involved with the community on multiple levels and really cares about HoN.
We'd like to welcome FJ as the first HoNored Poster! Here's a little interview with him to get to know him better:
Who are you and where are you from?
Hi!
My name is Frederik Jacobsen, and I am from Denmark. I go by the nickname “FJ”, and most people will probably already have guessed why. I am 20 years old and I am currently working full time as an office assistant, until I start my studies next year at a university here in Denmark. I spend my spare time on my girl, my friends, my family – and obviously with the love we all share: Heroes of Newerth.
How long have you been playing HoN?
I have been playing Heroes of Newerth since – well my stats page tells me that my account was created the 17th of august 2009- so I guess that’s about right, more or less. I remember one of my friends told me about this new DotA-like game, which seemed to have amazing graphics, so we obviously had to try it out. It didn’t take me more than a single minute to be completely in love. I was playing madman, and I remember how the graphics, the sound, the voice of madman and his metallic attacks were combining a perfect symphony combined. I knew, that I had found my game.
What's your favorite hero?
My favourite hero is, without a doubt, Soulstealer. He’s mysterious, delicate, evil – and most importantly, very difficult to master. I am personally finding it very difficult to play him, yet he is the one I enjoy playing the most.
What's your favorite thing about HoN?
If you could, try to list everything that you do to contribute to the HoN community. The thing I like most about HoN, must be the competitive scene. We see new teams rising all the time, we see the metagame change from week to week. People are complaining about items and heroes being overpowered after losing to them just a few times. I love it.
There’s drama, there’s excitement, there’s competition – what more can you ask for?
How do you feel about becoming an HoNored Poster?I don’t believe contributions can be measured in quantity. If I do something, I do it because I believe in it, and I wish to invest time into it. When you believe in something, you will contribute naturally. The way I like to contribute, is by helping others, raise discussions and bring light to new subjects. I always try to stay positive and helpful, and I take my time to do so, so nothing I bring comes out as an easy way out.
Believe in what you do, and others will too.
In what sections of the forums will people see you post most frequently? When I was told that I was becoming the very first Honored Poster, I was filled with excitement and awe. There’s only one person who can tell my reaction, and that is XanderK – or XK, as I personally prefer.
Honestly, it is a great honor being an HoNored poster, and it is an amazing feeling when someone recognizes you for your hard work. I am very happy to receive this award. It encourages me not to change, to stay dedicated and motivated to helping the community in the best way I can.
Shoutouts?A hero does not choose his favorite place- he goes wherever he is needed. *mysterious laughter*

Very nice initiative by S2. FJ is the most worthy of the title with his epic guide.

My goal is for at least one of my heroes to be ported into HoN! Help my cause and get S2 to see these!
