    Leaver System Adustments

Since FTP I have noticed and abnormal amount of leaves within Hon. It really is too bad. I've given it a fair amount of thought and I have a few different things I think could be added to the game to help curb this otherwise infuriating behavior.

    Require FTP Account Email Verification
This I think could have a huge impact. Since there is no activation / verification email required on FTP account creation, leavers are able to make and abuse the accounts with impunity. Hon, because of it's model doesn't really allow for a Steam-like master account that is ban-able. Also, IP / MAC address banning has major implications to Lan centers and semi-public computers.

So many times in games I hear "go ahead, report me, it will take me less time to make another account", and they are exactly right. Very few people will make an email account every time they want to play hon because they left games. It is less work to simply not ruin games.

    Stepwise Leaver Threshold
The leaver setting for matchmaking is, I believe, 5%. Unfortunately, this affects people in the short term only. I personally, have ~1100 games played and I think 8 leaves (all of which due to crash bugs from days of old). Now this means that, if I so choose, I can co and leave about 50 games in a row before I am punished in any way shape or form. This feels completely unreasonable.

I propose moving this from a fixed % to more of a stepwise function. Where the threshold % is reduced based on your games played: 5% < 200 games. 4% < 500. 3% < 1000, 2% < 2000+. The numbers would of course need to be tweaked as necessary but I believe the point stands.

I hope these spark some discussion among the team and end up being helpful. Thanks
