The Mid Wars Face-Off between DivA and DOGKaiser is over. The dust has settled and all the hubris and pride in the S2 Games offices has once again reached equilibrium. While DivA may have won the first ever public Mid Wars battle with DOGKaiser, rest assured that the war is far from over. Even with DivA and DOGKaiser assuming the roles of Try-hard in the first ever Mid Wars Face-Off, we couldn't have been happier with the turnout and would like to thank everyone that joined us and gave us the pre-release feedback we needed. Over 784,200 silver coins have been distributed to 3921 people who voted for DivA's Mid Wars supremacy and we thank everyone for voting. With the 2nd Annual HoN-iversary kicking off this week, you can imagine just how electric the air is here at S2 Games.
Seeing over 8500 concurrent viewers on Honcast and giving the community such an inside look at Mid Wars one week before release, we knew that the reception of the map was going to be positive. Make no mistake, this game mode belongs to the HoN community and we are very excited to open the floodgates this Friday come patch time. For those of you who missed the Mid Wars Face-Off last Saturday, May 5th, we have confirmation from Honcast that we now have VODs of each match Mid Wars Face-Off Match up on YouTube for all to see. Check those videos if you haven't already and get your first look at the new mode in action or check the Mid Wars launch page at www.heroesofnewerth.com tomorrow we also have another dev blog lined up for release that is going to give you an inside look at how our design team approached designing MOBA's first Mid Wars mode.

*Update: After assessing this weekend's event, it was decided that 50 silver coins be given to each of the 4,700 people who voted for DOGKaiser in the forum poll. We love how enthusiastic everyone was leading up to this event and we want to make sure that everyone who participated feels our appreciation. That, and frankly even us S2 Staff members couldn't believe that DivA could take DOGKaiser with 3 Emerald Warden picks in a row. EW seems a bit too strong...Thanks again everyone!

I fully enjoyed the idea behind the Blind Ban picking mode, and am glad that a 15 second respawn was implemented at level 25. However, I will admit that I'm a bit upset at the lack of duplicate heroes. I understand why we can't have fully duplicate heroes, but what about making it so that you simply can't have duplicate heroes on the same team? Say, perhaps, you had a Dev on each team, but couldn't have two Devs on one team. That could allow teams to pick to counter, and give even more variety without having to deal with people who would stack 4 Emerald Wardens and spam wolves.
