Happens to me every 2/10 games that I am champion of newerth or immortal and i still lose. For example my last game.
ID: 89059841
I was above 450 gpm whole game, got immortal at about 25 minutes, I participated in teamfights, I built correct items and I did more then 45% of our teams damage and still we werent even near winning. So can someone looks at the replay and tell me what went wrong and if there is any way to solo win a game even with a bad team or is picking sand wraith every game the only option?
Don't pub. This is the only accurate answer aside from the premise you will most likely get "Don't blame your team, instead, look at your own problems". Just love when I see that premise ****.
Eh, the common advice of "don't pub" isn't true to solo win games. I personally got this account to 1800 on a limited amount of games in 95% solo queue's. The best way to carry teams in pubs is to play the mid lane. If you look at this account, majority of the heroes played are mid viable heroes. You can't just mid though. I typically destroy mid lane and atleast one other lane for my team as well to ensure 2 lanes win. When you keep that many heroes down you secure your win during the mid game phase where you own the map and they cant even show themselves comfortably.
Of course, you can also just destroy mid and stay mid in hopes that your outter lanes dont lose terribly. I typically only do this with heroes that have strong late game.
In your particular game, there really is nothing you could have done. Armadon is a super strong hero but, he is actually quite meaningless if your team can't even survive for a few seconds. Armadon's only downfall is he relies on at least a second strong hero so that the enemy team will overextend themselves to kill that hero while you clean everyone up. Your particular team had 4 other squish heroes that just dropped in seconds.
Armadon isn't the best carry in noob games in my opinion. He becomes incredible when you have above average teammates. If you want to carry pub games yourself I'd say the best way is to become comfortable with semi-carry heroes that can lane mid. My personal favorites are Hag, Pebbles, Scout, FA, Tort, and Swiftblade.
I swear to god, this guy posts in practically every thread with useless information/insults. All the while acting like he and his 1450 MMR are some authority on HoN.
To solo win a game in HoN, you have to win mid and snowball in almost every case.
Basically, +1 to what Jo1717a said.
I actually watched the replay.
Some stuff to work on:
1) In your lane in the beginning you missed a lot of ck even after starting with a hatchet. Also judging by your movements, last hitting seems to be taking all of your attention. You should be able to focus on the enemy and the creeps at once.
2) There were times in your lane ( for example 1:17 game time) where you sat with full mana, they had 0 creeps, and the enemy was both auto attacking your creeps. You could have snotted them. During the lane it was like a 2 v 1 for your pr where you helped 0 even against a double melee lane.
3) (6:00 replay time) I know this isn't a mistake, and it's great you got a double tap, but I'm just pointing something out to clarify what I mean by 1. It's like to get a kill in your lane you had to explicitly think in advance that you had to run at them and attack them, not just integrate a surprise attack while getting ck. They had a reaction speed delay of like 2 seconds too, pretty bad play by them.
4) (7:24 replay time) Ok this is awful play. You're just standing there. Moraxus walks up to you and stuns. How the hell can you not see this coming? Your pr was pulling and then you even flame him. Mid was missing and you still played up right by the melee stunner. Holy ****, badbadbadbad. If I was playing with you here I would be incredibly annoyed.
5)13:38 game time - you just hit W while chasing kraken, no auto's. Could have prevented the death by neutrals.
6)I don't think you really ever carried a tp. 24:36 game time they got two towers, and kill a lot of your team just because you had no tp. Also you were being a big douchebag again.
7)39 game time you lead your team into a fight with all enemy creeps, and no friendly creeps. You have a mq and pr. They don't like to fight into that kind of situation.
8)43 game time - nice job running away and not contributing in any way to this fight
9) 46 game time - good job running into a kraken ulti ( i can't count on one hand how many times you did that ) when you have all the kills on your team you need to be useful in fights. you again are not helping and are leading to another team fight loss.
I understand this is harsh and your team was indeed bad. But after seeing that your play is also pretty bad, and that you are also a cocky bad player (the kind of player I hate) I figure you needed to be talked to like this. You aren't the best. You only got so farmed because you were against a double melee lane. And then you performed poorly and were a douchebag to your team.
EDIT: My intent upon reading this thread was to be helpful but I came off pretty mean. I was once a 1200 easy mode player back in beta. Every game I would analyze my own mistakes. I only wanted to win. However, people like you would always come and rage and flame at me. Through every game they found others to blame, while I would try to improve myself. It's just frustrating to see and to be a part of. Now I can say with confidence that I am better than them, and they're still stuck in the lower brackets. You need to change your mindset if you want to win and improve.

I honestly don't think pointing out every little thing is all that helpful. I can open up a tralfamadore replay and tell you where he made mistakes because hindsight is always 20/20. It's not very useful to say you ran in to a kraken ult that was bad. A 1400 player knows that walking in to an enemies ult is not a good thing.
Speaking about the replay specifically, it doesn't matter if he lost a kill here or lost a CK there or died here and there. The fact at the end of the day was that armadon was at 470 GPM. Looking at the context of this replay, armadon as a hero could not do much. When his team explodes in a few seconds no matter how much farm you have, you probably arent going to win a pure 1v5.
That last fight in the replay, not even I would have been able to pull of a win. His team had no clue how to handle 2 pk initiators nor did they have the farm to deal with it as well. I was aiming to answer the question of "how to win at solo queue." Winning in lower bracket solo queue's require general/broad game play improvement not specific. Once you are higher level, I believe the little things start to matter a lot. Going mid and snowballing is probably the most effective and dominant way to win at solo queue. Maybe not the optimal way to learn team-play but, teamwork is something you learn at higher mmr when it actually matters.
In the OP he asks to watch the replay. I did that and saw how mean he was being to his teammates. How can you say teamwork only matters at low mmr? You're playing the same game at all brackets of mmr. And in all of them, teamwork matters. Armadon should be doing all he can as a hero, you shouldn't be making excuses like that for him. With that amount of farm spending even a second being useless in a team fight matters a lot. It's not 1 v 5. It's 5 v 5, a team game.
Going mid and snowballing can work sometimes, but you should be able to win in every lane and have an impact. Just going mid because you think you're the best and should be a higher mmr won't work. And even if it does by some luck, you won't just be like "hey i'm 1700+ now, I have aquired knowledge of this thing called teamwork, yes!" At all brackets you should be learning it.
I was merely answering the title of this thread. Watching the replay (which i did watch) and critiquing it won't answer his question of "how to win solo queue." I know teamwork is important at all levels of MMR but, I don't think it's the most important thing to learn to solo win a game. Solo winning a game requires that you play the role that impacts the game the most.
I suppose we are both trying to be helpful here. The most important thing to winning a game solo is subjective, but teamwork is definitely in the top 3 at least. Sometimes attitude can impact a game more than skill. From personal experience, I have been 1900 MMR solo queue pre compression and 1850 post compression. There are tons of games where I do pretty damn bad, but I still try to remain positive and be nice to my team. That alone allows me to win, not my individual skill.
(bored studying for finals, forums are a pretty good diversion xD)
@Jo1717a thank you very much, things you wrote are very helpful
@scoutTier I don't appreciate you calling me a bad player, which i obviously am because if i was any good i wouldn't be 1500 but you have no right to call me bad just because ive spent 1/10th of the time you did, playing and studying this game. Also for a 1500 match i played that one superbly and judging me from a 1900 POV is just plain stupid and unhelpful. Also I've told PR not to pull unstacked creep camp nicely, then i said it in CAPS and then i told him that he is a moron. Totally deserved it.
I'm glad you realise that you're bad at least, that's good. First step to improvement right there! I don't think you should take such offense to it though... Also, you flamed pr instantly after your death out of rage, even though he had been trying his best. I suppose right there is where I got pretty annoyed and was too harsh in my reply. Just remember teamwork is important and carry a homecoming stone.![]()
Proof that LoL players are definitely brain damaged and have no clue what they're talking about :
Chronos was extremely bad early game and could only KS with his blink then blink away as he would die in 2 hits. Xin is like Pyromancer early game, can towerdive anyone once he gets to level 3.
If you are good at lasthitting, take a solo lane mid (ranged/melee snowball - Zephyr) and sidelane solo (ranged snowball - CD). Then you can win 5v1
