Hey guys! I just installed Linux, cause of some problems with my comp. Never been near it before, and a friend of mine installed everything etc.
Now, I just installed hon (right clicked the hon.sh, set it to executable, then ran it) in boot/username/hon. And now.... well, how do I start it? I thought it would show up in Programs->Games, but no. How do I get the game going?
Edit: I see 38 views til now, but only 1 reply. Not sure if people understand, but I'd guess that everyone that has Linux should be able to answer this. In windows, I'd find the icon on my desktop, and just double-click it, and be on my way. But here, I don't even know where to find the icon. I've found the home/username/hon folder, but when I click on anything that looks like it should run, nothing happens. Nada.

You installed it in the wrong directory for one just install it in your home directory and it will never cause problems. Why did you install it in /boot?
It does make menu shortcuts in the games section but this may have something to do with where you installed it so just fix that and then we will look at the shortcut thing.

from the installer, did you select to install a menu entry? if you it will be under start -> games -> hon
otherwise use nautilus or another file browser and navigate to: home/username/hon and there is a hon.sh, double-click on it
in short, to have a launcher menu item the relevant option in the installer must be selected

Hmm, ok. Seems I did not select to install a menu entry. But I have found home/username/hon, and when I click on hon.sh I get prompted if I wish to run in terminal, show, run, cancel. But when I select run nothing happens! (When I select run in terminal a window pops up for like 0.2 seconds and then dissapears again.
open a terminal and navigate to home/username/hon and type: ./hon.sh
then paste the output here.
Also as per requirements. console.log as well as the output from my signature. Not alot can be done when there is zero infomation about your system

EDIT: After I found out about this VAD error, I just googled it, and found your workaround here. Had to make that startup.cfg etc. So I actually fixed it, or I can atleast enter the game, guessing I'll be able to start a game as well
I think this is all you asked for?

So sorted now? good. ill go ask an s2 to regenerate the installer since right now that one-liner is still required from a fresh install
