Anyone who has played 10+ games of HoN knows that most games are full of players who are extremely selfish. They instapick carries, demand mid, refuse to help team mates, and try to "cc at 15" because they are 0-2 and don't want to ruin there precious kdr. They do this so as to protect their stats. I play a lot of support so my stats don't look pretty (.7 kdr, bad gpm, 4+ wards per game) but I don't play to boost e-peen, I play to win.
It just seems like stats like average gpm and kdr encourage a selfish play style ("OMG NICE KS I'M SITTING IN WELL"). There are no stats like 'jungle camps stacked' or 'players saved' or 'lanes pulled' or 'free farm you gave your carry while harassing like a boss', if you catch my drift.
No. Stats are just numbers; it's up to people to interpret them and act upon them, the same goes for player colors.
Like i wrote in another thread - it's like saying that visual symbol, colors and engine requirements on cars are the cause for road rage and that all cars should have these hidden so that drivers will not rage at eachother. I do not rage at a driver becouse he drives a Ford, his car is Brown and has a 1,3 turbo-charged diesel engine (or whatever). I rage at him for disobeying the rules and endangering me, him and all others around him by acting stupid.
I'm also not angry with a player becouse he plays Scout, he's brown and has a 0:40 KD ratio; i'm angry at him for being on the other side of the map while we are pushing a lane or for waiting hidden in a fight only to steal all kills (you know, for that oh-so-important KD to go up).
Protip: if you stop looking at numbers, maybe you'll start seeing the players behind them (and how different they sometimes are from what you'd expect)![]()

every so now and then, it is a problem
but keep up the good work. you'll get past all the KD whiners soon enough with the good attitude you have. Play to win and have fun, not for any other reason
Stats are stats.
Usually the tell you the truth.
However I've seen miracles, such as 0.90 kd as good as a 2.2kd.
Imo you're justified to just take mid if you feel you're the best in the team.
Tho yea there are those who are very selfish as you say, will always be.
Those with more unstable mentailty I'd say.
yes, and they are slowly ruining the game.
tongue punch my turd cutter.
my stats are pretty bad cuz when i first played i was a really nooby player but now i m getting better and kdr is getting harder to raise if you look at my previous games ive done well
Most people rage/flame/grief because of stats.
I know what i'm talking about.![]()

People don't play carries for stats they play it because they want to dominate.
Absolutely they do, but not by themselves. It's the player-base that is too focused on stats that negatively impacts the community. The numbers aren't the problem, it's the people who refuse to play because they want to keep their K/D high or use them as an excuse to flame or grief other players that is really detrimental to the game and the community.
You have to learn how to look at stats, they are very useful. For instance you, low k/d, low gpm, 4+wards per game, and your top 5 heros means I would love to play with you.
However, if your stats were the same and your top 5 were all carries....well, you get what I'm saying. Look at the WHOLE stat picture, not just certain ones.
I think stats should be removed from the game. I also hate when I meet people in TMM and start playing with them and then they complain how their kdr is going down or what not.
I think MMR/PSR especially should be hidden *not removed* so that example 1600's still get matched in the same 1600-1650's and 1700's with other 1700-1750 and what not. The system is fine but the stat should be hidden.
if your stats are good for your role you won't ever have to complain about stats lol
what if you want to play some other roles?
Nobody ever complains if a person with carry stats and 0.1 wards placed picks a support (not that it ever happens either, but let's entertain the idea).
Try picking a carry with support stats though.
Why the double standard?
"Proclamation was made, in the King's Name, for all Persons to keep Silence" - House of Lords Journal, Volume 20, 24 June 1717
Because carrying is a lot harder then buying wards.
The only real stats that show you play support is wards per game and that's how the general public will look at it. Having good kd and creep kills per game is generally harder to keep up then buying 5 wards every game. Also, no one wants to support = no complaints.
