I don't know what fntc was doing the 2nd game, pretty much abandoning the top lane and running some kind of tort-elec-magmus trilane mid. Never seen anything quite like it, felt like a pub game in which people start arguing about who's gonna mid ending in multiple people going there. That, together with a risky puppet pick that didn't pay off cost them the game.
The 3rd game got incredibly boring as fntc pretty much couldn't farm at all with a pebbles + aluna combo waiting to burst you down. Don't know why they picked glacius and nymph after pebbles being firstpicked by tdm.
Kind of getting a deja vu feeling, MSI used to have periods in between DH's where they were pulling of strange stuff and losing to other top teams. Fly just master trolling us? In a month and a half we'll see.
Fray only team to 2-0 fntc, really fntc shouldnt win at all when they play 0 games a week outside tournaments. tdm play about 6-7 scrims a day and still lose :|
My point is you shouldn't call how Fnatic played counting all 3 games as being decent. That's being realistic. Not sure why you bring up the fact that tDM let Era rape game 1. I never mentioned anything regarding them and never insinuated anything regarding them either.
Also, I feel people aren't giving Fnatic enough credit. I'm pretty sure no one in HoN would sleep on Fnatic despite their time being split with Dota 2.
not like tdm or any other team could go to dota2, play against a top tier team who scrims multiple hours a day, and even have a slight chance at winning.
yet a dota2 team comes to hon, rapes the nerdiest team on the hon scene.
I was trying to say that fnatic havn't performed too bad since they dont practice. Then you mentioned that when moon is able to farm 620 gpm the other teams must have done bad. I brought up tdm cause they let the exact same thing happen in game 1 where Era farmed all day.
So pretty much
Game 1: Era 600 gpm
Game 2: Fnatic trying out some weird stuff.
Game 3: Moon 600 gpm.
I call that decent performance against a top 3 team in HoN.
And then again you say people aren't giving Fnatic enough credit? That's what I did.
I'm not saying that's wrong but how can you know that with certainty? Have you switched from Dota 2 to HoN recently? Also it's more than 1 month.

I don't need to prove that with certainty. I was just saying that Ari was assuming things and leaving out other important information from his post, in order to try to influence other members.
He implied that Fnatic are a Dota 2 team who came in and "raped" one of the nerdiest HoN teams. Well, for starters, they lost the match and on the other hand, you cannot forget about the fact that this Fnatic team have been playing HoN for the last 2 years, except the last month.
Actually no, I won't even give you that.. Fnatic have been playing HoN in the last month as well.
I think tdm just make a statement there.Big moon performance.Big support from zfreek/sender.Big trollfmadore.Big peb kid![]()
That's true but they only played like 1 tournament series a week while tdM is scrimming every day. And you know how important it is to keep up with the current hero picks. We've seen how the Aluna pick up by tdM ****ed them up a bit. I think tdM even said in their teamchat that Fnatic "doesn't know how strong Aluna is".
Also it's one thing to stop playing a game for a month or to play a similar game of the same genre and get used to it.
I agree that tdM played great in Game 2 and 3

I kind of agree with what Swindle said that his brother, ZfreeK is the best player in America. I mean, obviously he has a lot of work to do and there are better players, but damn... this kid was stomping 1500 easy mode pubs (his own words, said on Swindle's stream chat) 1-1.5 years ago and now? Gotta love him.
Besides, ZfreeK is so entertaining, his stream is the funniest of all![]()
A PPY-mix (with Akke and Loda + 2) already proved you wrong.
The competition in HoN is laughable and anyone decently skilled can make a top 5 team. The amount of mistakes and bad plays by "top teams" is through the roof (shoutout to Sender tower diving the solo Pharaoh in game 1 and almost left N0tail with a triple kill because they stacked stuns like 1400 PSR players).
The same can be said about most Dota2 teams currently, but with the Chineese coming over we are already seeing how the game is to be played at highest level, where mistakes just doesn't happen (go watch DK's Dragon Knight games, its a nice teaser of how they can just control the game from minute 0:00 and take rax 25 mins later).
I still dont understand why they left moon free farm 2nd and 3rd game when they had better trilane heroes and better solos
Anyway boring games hope they return to some more entertaining stuff like dual roamers ( engi ) because watching 2 teams farm 30 min is kind of sad.
PPY mix with 2 experienced pro hon players couldn't beat most amateur teams they faced, so it proves him right if anything.
Just because an EG without Chu and Fujiapples, in transition, using 2 or 3 ringers understimated a team nobody ever heard about, doesn't mean teams coming from Dota would instantly be a top 5.
This team you talk about lost about 90% of their games, they even got stomped by the weakest form of Dirty Minds we've seen (The one with Flora, Rexi, etc.) and multiple amateur teams.
Fuji was on the EG roster, when PPY mix beat them.
Calling Loda and Akke "experienced pro HoN players" has to be a joke? It was wayyy back when Loda was notoriously hated by the HoN community and laughed at for being horrible. It was way before the OK days, where he proved that he didn't suck (to almost everyones surprise). Sure both Loda and Akke kept playing the game and became some of the best players, but calling them "pro hon players" back then is just dumb.
And lets not forget that it wasn't a full Dota team that made the switch. It was just a bunch of random pro dota players +2 friends that had nothing better to do at the time.
But hey, keep thinking that a real top Dota team wouldn't destroy the "competition" in HoN. I'm just going to heavily disagree (especially considering the current afk-style, which the Chinese perfected like a year ago before Icefrog fixed the game).
We will never find out who is right, due to the obvious reasons.
Fujiapples had just come back after ~4 months of inactivity because of internet problems and other issues. It was a pretty big deal because everyone was hoping this was going to be the return of EG. However, this certainly wasn't the "best team in HoN" that PPY claimed it was in his interview at GamesCOM. The roster was Dodo, Yoda, Riser_, and Bdiz. This EG team was hardly considered to be even a Top 10 team at the time.
Hmmm. I'll stick with just logic and facts here: Both Loda and Akke played for DrDz during Dreamhack Summer 2010, winning 3rd place. This typically would qualify them as "pro players" considering they won money competing against the highest level of competition. The only EU teams that were better than them were KD Gaming and Fnatic. Additionally, they played for ButtonBashers before that and had some success there. I don't disagree that they didn't become much better or more well known later in HoN, but that's pretty standard. If you play a game for awhile you're typically going to get better at it, and when everyone else is getting better it makes you look that much better because you're still at the top. But saying they were "pro hon players" back then isn't dumb, its actually 100% correct.Calling Loda and Akke "experienced pro HoN players" has to be a joke? It was wayyy back when Loda was notoriously hated by the HoN community and laughed at for being horrible. It was way before the OK days, where he proved that he didn't suck (to almost everyones surprise). Sure both Loda and Akke kept playing the game and became some of the best players, but calling them "pro hon players" back then is just dumb.
Irrelevant. I beat n0tail mid once when he was smurfing. I guess that means I'm better than him, right? Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. And lets not forget that it wasn't a full Dota team that made the switch. It was just a bunch of random pro dota players +2 friends that had nothing better to do at the time.
And that's all you can do. You can disagree and have an opinion, but quit trying to push yours across as if it were fact. Because it isn't. HoN pro players are good at HoN. DotA pros are good at DotA. There doesn't NEED to be crossover. Do I think that a team like Na`Vi could win some HoN money playing here? Of course. But I don't think they'd fair any better than a team like fnatic did when they crossed over. Of course like you said, we'll never know for sure. DotA players are going to stick with DotA because it's what they know best, and it's what they can win money in. If it were as simple as being "about the money" then you'd probably see a few DotA teams fire up HoN for the DreamHoN qualifiers or the Dreamhack competition, since last time I checked the 1st place prize in HoN at Dreamhack this year is more than the entire prize pool for DotA2.But hey, keep thinking that a real top Dota team wouldn't destroy the "competition" in HoN. I'm just going to heavily disagree (especially considering the current afk-style, which the Chinese perfected like a year ago before Icefrog fixed the game).
