Just remembered, 17th is national holiday and 18th I do not have to work. So I guess that makes up for it <3

You understand that the beta is not nearly representative of what the main gameplay is like, right? Have you played Diablo 2?

The beta is in Normal difficulty, and only the very beginning of the game. It gets MUCH harder and more intense as you go along.

diablo 3 beta is probably the same (in act development) as diablo 2 first act from start to Blood Raven

Do note that the beta was never intended to test difficulty or balance tweaks, it was just a hardware/software stress-test on Blizzards behalf.
on www.diablofans.com in an interview it is stated that the game sets up pace for the first time in act 3 on normal, and inferno will be quite the challenge according
to the dev team with the skeleton king having 1000x the HP he has in normal and hitting for 127000 damage when heal pots only cover up for 15000.

Yeah, in Diablo II there were four major quests per act, each with a boss. So it's probably safe to say that the beta was either 1/16th or so of the total questline, and it was on the lowest difficulty setting.

I'd like to add friends from here so I can play with a group sooner rather than later. We should all hook up.

So basicly higher difficulties mean a lot of grinding and potion spamming? Instead of adding nice new encounters, spells, etc?

That's pretty lame. Just multiplying the damage and the hp by xxxxx and there you go, harder mode. That's pretty boring, I hope they atleast add some nice spells/other stuff and not just stupid brainless grinding

From what I understand there are unique monster types and lots of things that deepen strategy in Inferno. Things like monsters that can create walls to trap you, etc. But if you don't like grinding and the like then don't play the game. I personally enjoy it, and I won't call your tastes "lame".

As the time draws closer, anyone who'd like to play can send me an IM on these forums. I'll add you as a friend. I have no real means to do that at the moment though as I don't play SC or WoW.

Wrong... Diablo 3 (as diablo 2 did to a certain extend) consists form random probabilities, meaning after 100 playthroughs you can still encounter mobs with new abilities that you did not see before, this also includes Act Events (example: defend a NPC from hordes of incoming creatures for 10 minutes) , Loot tables.
If you Sir would actually read up on a game before bashing it you would know that spamming pots doesnt exist anymore, Pots have an internal cooldown of 30+ seconds, in addition mobs have a 5% to drop health globes which are red orbs that once walked over grant the player back a small % of HP.

It was a question, since that would just be sad.
