- Honcast Website
- Researching hosting options to provide for 1080p Video on Demand as well as spreading content to new venues (ie. Machinima, Twitch.TV, Vimeo, own3d.tv, etc)
- Site Redesign conceptualization currently underway
- Integration of the Honcast VoD comment section into the Official Heroes of Newerth forums (ie. login to Honcast.com with your HoN login) This really needs to be added in
honestly I didn't mind it either, the point I was trying to get across is that we've got enough 'character' casters in the likes of Diva, Zyori & Breaky, and we need more secondary co casters that bring some insight and actual commentary, not just idiotic and frankly quite embarrassingly low level information about things that literally everyone already knows and saw 2 seconds ago on the stream.
I mean; I don't really need the '101 free tips' but it's how casts become the most enjoyable.
Diva was a dota competitive player, I assume he isn't any less ignorant about the game than most sc2 casters, wether he's able to communicate that knowledge or not is another story, I already forgot about diva's casts specifics, but you only talked about people being ex-pros and what not in the SC2 scene so that's what I'm replying to. Anyway, just a detail you perhaps forgot when labeling diva as a character and not as a potential competitive insight.

We all know Breaky isn't going anywhere, as much as that'd be best. But ditch Zyori, get swindle and then at least its bearable.
Please don't forget to carry the API over to the new site (assuming its a redesign not a reskin)
Thanks!
A stable stream would be a welcome addition rather than better quality. Whenever I have tried to watch a live match, then I always have to switch to something else as the lag and interruptions are terrible. Other streams for big games work fine, but Honcast always has problems.
Making people rage for over 400 games
Just ask around and get alot of competetive players on your team. Have a subforum for these players or whatever to see upcoming casts and who can cast what and so on. I dont think you should have to pay some one to do this, Im sure most competetive players likes to suport the comunity to. Give the guy helping out 500 gold coins or something as token of your appreciation.![]()
Seriously, keep your upcoming broadcast sectuon up to date!
People who just check Honcast and don't want to put research in it, still don't know when the EU Dreamhon continues. Get your **** together!
What I personally think HonCast needs is to cover some MM's if made possible to cast live. Comment on the every-day player of HoN and change the skill levels so you'd cast from all the brackets of levels...
The caster would have to comment on down-to-basics HoN stuff that a lot of people take for granted. That way everyone involved and others familiar with the skill level could learn from their own mistakes and others.
I remember watching a youtube video lately, where it provided insight into the mind of gamers. If you lose you often pretend that it's everyone elses fault than your own. I would find it new and exciting if HonCast - in periods with few tournaments - provided coverage to shed light on this problem.
Meh, am I the only one around who really likes Breaky-Zyori Casting? :-/
For the most part, it depends on your familiarity with the game and competitive play. Both of them have a really shallow understanding of any of the more complex things that make up competitive HoN, and are only really good for calling play-by-plays and telling you what your eyes can already see. It's sorta fine if you just want someone calling the action for you, but the majority of people appreciate actually learning things they didn't know from commentary, which is why combos like Fly+Swindlemelonzz are far far better received by the general public.
Please, just invest in a good connection. Honcast has been a slideshow lately, can't watch that.
We've been streaming on a line with 80MB up lately. Because of this and moving to 1080p, we have been streaming with 5000kpb up. It could be an issue of your internet not being fast enough to watch it on 1080p, in which case you should use the resolution changer. I have not had any lag during the entirety of the DreamHoN event, of which I've watched every cast and 2 of the rebroadcasts.
I doubt it. Every other stream works without lags for me on the highest resolution. Also, whenever it turns into a slideshow, I just look at the chat and see everyone complaining about the lag, so I really doubt it's just me. I admit, it has been better for DreamHoN, because before that it was really unwatchable and now it just turns into a slideshow every ~5-10 minutes for a minute and it's fine for the rest of it, but it can be really annoying to hear breaky/zyori shouting about the "huge tempest ultimate!!" and seeing a picture of ancients being farmed from 5 seconds before that.
