First of all I have to say, really nice and clean layout.

About the player ladder... let's say I gave you the names of the top matchmaking players, wouldn't it be possible to have a real time ladder? You could make a clan channel where let's say... 1800 rated players can add themself to the list with some kind of bot (.addme command or something)

If they are not 1800 while writing .addme, they will not be added to the list. If they are, they will be added... and if the added player drops below 1800, your site will check everyone on the list frequently and then remove if someone drops below.

I know this is not a solid solution to HoN's lack of a player ladder, but atleast everyone that's interested in being ranked in SOME kind of matchmaking ladder could enter themselves manually in the channel.

Any thoughts? Or is this totally impossible?

This is an interesting suggestion. Instead of a bot, we could make something where you could run your nick through a form online which would then add you to a database. I'm not sure where this bot would be running - IRC? We can create a functional IRC bot that would be able to do this, but we'd prefer to keep it in one language, and 100% web based.

Totally possible :P this will probably just be one of the later developments if this all works out (S2 may release the API anytime, so maybe a player ladder will be built before we get around to it!)

all other stat sites that has been using master server has been shutted down 1-2 weeks after release. What makes you think your site will not be shuted down?
masterserver is publicly accessible, because that is how HoN client is getting data.

There is no other way, that's effective, to get HoN statistics data without the masterserver since the API is down. So, hondmg.com is using the master server to populate it's matches and then calculate its data from there. I'm confused as to why you would argue that we may have a conflict and then state that the masterserver is publicly accessible.

Anyone can access the masterserver - if S2 wanted to keep from mass amounts of people using it, don't you think they would have added a bit more security? Or put it online for that mater.

The player ladder is officially complete! Check out the top 5 players in our database on the homepage! All users that have their stats checked are automatically added to the database! GOGOGOGO

Note: the full ladder is being implemented for use in the full theme. Top 5 is all that is accessible at the moment :P
