    KotF Item build and Strategy

I tried KotF for the first time. I did ok, i really liked the hero. He seems like an hero who can play any role and i'm thinking of using my next 250 coins to buy it.

But i don't really know what's the best way to play it. I mean.. i've read many guides and they all say something different.

Shieldbreaker, DBP, EP, Behemoths, HotBL, Charged Hammer, Brutalizer, Mock, etc....

What should i build on him anyway?

ring of the teacher, bullwark, poste haste, let the backdooring begin

  3. #3
    ^ what he said.

It really all depends on what role/playing style you prefer. Which would be...?

  4. #4
Was looking for a pushing build. But not like playing solo backdooring without my team. More like helping my team getting some kills and push.

    I'm kinda new

ring -> boots -> bulwark -> plated grieves -> abyssal for pushing

ring -> boots -> PK -> plated -> frostfield -> pbox/resto for big team fights

    Ring of the teacher/Ring of sourcery-Mock of Briliance-Steamboots-PK-Daemonic Breastplate-Frostwolf skull-Behemoths Heart

Makes you a tanky initiation beast with great damage and dps. Frostwolf/heart can be changed for rest stone or situational items, such as nullstone, bkb etc.

Carry kotf kinda sucks, so stick with pushing and teamfight ability. I suggest to get arcane ring asap, it will give you enough mana to jungle + gank. Theres nothing more annoying than to be lvl 6 and no mana to gank with ult. Next plated graves and bulwark, then you can either finish daemonic, pk, vlads or even astro. Lategame I favour fws thanks to its good stats and slow.

Never build these items on keeper Hotbl, Charged hammer, Ring of Sorcery

Saying that KOTF can be build many ways, If you need initation build PK, Frostplate, Shrunken Head, Resto stone, Barrier Idol, ect. If you need a carry build Mock, Savage Mace, Shrunken Head, Brutilzer, Symbol of Rage, Post haste. If you want to build Pushing Bulwark>Breastplate, Post Haste, Abyssal skull, PK, Heart, ect.

I dont understand why people suggest ring of sorcery blood challace gives you better stats and is much cheaper and you get get it rushed to you at lvl 4

This is generally how I build
    Ring of teacher+2 mana potions to start>blood challace>boots>bulwark>Shrunken>PK>Abyssal>Posthas te>

^I used to be on the same boat as you on RoS, but after trying it out religiously it is quite nice, mostly for the team mana replenishment factor (giving the lanes you gank early on mana), and it does help quite a bit early on for non-stop pushing purposes.

If you're doing an all-out carry or solo Keeper then yeah fuk RoS, but if you're more teamplay-oriented then RoS can be a great pickup.

    FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY~!

Don't worry guys, Lodestone won't be getting picked up in competitive, your balance forum regulars have assured it in this Lodestone balance thread ;)

I love my RoS because it ensures that I have mana for ultimate when I hit level 6. After that the pickups vary. Astro, Abyssal, Barrier, Daemonic, PK, Eye, Tablet, Puzzlebox...

Don't listen to any1 except iNsania. He is a pro player for the (top3 atleast) best EU team. Pushing Keeper is built through Ring of the Teacher -> Riong of Sorcery -> Plated Greaves -> Astrolabe (just make sure your team only gets 1 of those) -> Portal Key -> Whatever Luxuary item that the situation calls for. Skilling him should be maxing treedogs, then invis/armor. 1 rank could be taken in passive but usually armor/invis is way better (especially before your PK). Ult whenever possible.

Secure 2 kills with ult at level 6 and replenish your teammates mana and push the lanes tower. Then go to next lane and try to just push the **** down. If it's not possible wait until your ult is up by farming woods or something.

Your best bet is to watch either Zfreek och iNsania. 2 best KotF players out there ATM.

    So....

RoS or Challice, Plated, Abyssal Skull, DBP, Astrolabe or Puzzle box, Portal key?

But shouldn't i buy a shrunken head? They'll probably focus me (well at least they usually do) in the beginning of team fights to stop my ulti.

And shouldn't i have some damage item?

    Btw, shieldbreaker works on towers?

    Thank you

Best Build, with 40+ (matchmaking) games with him, I've literally NEVER lost a keeper game. Not even jokin He's got my mmr up a lot.
First: Hatcher, Buckler, two mana pots.
ASAP: Elder Parasite, then steam boots.
Once you get your EP, stack the ancients and then speed farm them by making using animate forest and elder parasite, you can wipe out all of the double to triple stacked ancients in a jiffy. Then get warpcleft, sol's, and finish your daemonic.
Then get mock and behemoths heart.
You should have daemonic by 20 and mock by 30.
Make sure to gank whenever possible!
    Skill Build:
    WQWEWRQQQREEEW+R+++++++
(get animate forest to level 3, picking up your other two skills at 2 and 4, invis first in case of someone ganking, then max Entmoot and then finish animate forest. Picking up ult at 6,11, and 16.

Check out this noob's awesome videos!

Amulet of Exile + 2 mana pots.
    Level...2,3,2,1,2,4,2,1,1,1,4,3,3,3,stats,4,stats. ..
Get a free tree spawn in your well.
Mana ring -> red booties -> bulwark -> PK -> finish boots -> Optional stuff like Daemonic/Utility items.
Push non-stop, initiate team fights with PK.
Your 1 spell should be on everyone pre-team fight. Great armor + regen.

I just love when someone picks KotF after the team has like 2 carries and/or semi-carries, and proceeds to sit in the jungle for 25 minutes while the rest of the team is getting their T2 towers pushed in. Comes out of the jungle with mock or a parasite and brutalizer (maybe an abyssal skull), gets raped, and then proceeds to flame the team for feeding/carries that can't carry, no wards (esp. if keeper is the only support hero on the team), etc.

I wish those ppl would read these threads and understand how the hero is meant to be played and what items to get in each situation. Keeper is so strong in the right hands in my opinion. But then again, what the hell do I know. I'm only a 1500's player.
