I am so frustrated right now. I won like 1 out of 20 games and it's ridiculous because once you start losing it's nearly impossible to win, the deeper you fall the harder it is to come back.
I tried playing full support, it never works, no one can take advantage of it well enough to carry and if anything they don't even appreciate it. Playing carry heroes for my self is out the question, there is always at least 3 players who pick carries on my team.
I'm soooooooooo tired of losing, I really don't think I deserve such harsh games. It's demoralizing me and I question myself all the time if I truly belong in this hellhole of feeders and griefers.
Sorry that I post two threads about my failure in hon, I registered for epoch on the website but I'm lost on what to do.
If anyone can mentor me or help me review over my replays I would appreciate it a lot.
I can't really mentor you considering that I don't know wtf I'm doing most of the time myself.
As for the picking phase (where half of the game is decided), I would suggest that you pick to supplement your team. If you feel incredibly confident with a mid hero, ask others if they wish to go mid before picking the hero. That way you shouldn't have those idiots that try to argue with you whether or not if you should take mid, nor those idiots that pick mid heroes that go mid even though they didn't say anything.
Unless you are playing with friends and are attempting to make a power lane, I suggest that you just pick what your team needs. If your team already has 3 carries, go pick a support. If theres already a glacius and a Witchslayer on your team, go play Magebane. Being a good teammate isn't defining yourself into any specific role. instead you need to fit the role that your team needs the most. So to that end, I suggest that you should tell people to ghostpick before you make your picking decision.
Most of the time, taking the loss is the responsibility of the entire team. There are instances where it is definitely safe to blame others, but most of the time losing is held accountable by the entire team.
You think you will change the way your team mate play the game? Make them play better? Make them listen more? Not going to happen. You need to improve your self to be able to get into higher brackets where people know what they are doing.
I'm not flaming I'm just tired of all these threads where people always tend to blame the team and never realized maybe there's something to improve personally instead.

Two things that have helped me get my win% higher;
- farming; I'm floating in the 1400-1500 bracket and auto-attacking is soooo rampant here...i myself confess to have done shitload of it in the past and sometimes I still do it...trying to break that bad habit...i read somewhere on these forums that has helped my farming alot and that is hit the creeps when their health bar turns red. I harass (if i'm ranged) or simply move about the lane till I notice a creep getting to that sweet spot and then strike it...still working on it but i usually never ever hav my complete boots and powersupply by 15 mins...but now i do so yeah...this is one thing i would recommend
- heroes; while it is generally commendable to pick a hero that suits ur line-up...one thing i've seen my bracket lack is initiators...or the lack of good initiators...people stick around running in and out of lanes in mid with nothing happening...it drives me nuts..so i've started playing initiators...the sad part about this is that sometimes your team doesn't follow even if they are standing there and i've pinged them already..or they are abit slow...so you MAY die...but after the 2nd or 3rd time they somehow magically follow you and do come to fight wen u intiate..HOWEVER u gotta farm that pkey real quick...hence the above mentioned tip helps..also if u pull off a few ganks in ur lane and manage to scare them off and get that tower...woohoo...good for you. Pkey is an amazing item as much of a pain it is to farm but the wonders it can do it amazing...for the lulz try getting a pkey on Dsham and Pesti together...port in and u just need to ulti
other than this..i would recommend the usual;
- warding; it's a miserable job but someone has to do it...and u do it a couple of times and then ask ur team nicely...they do it..i've actually gotten a brown who insta-picked Flint and spammed 'Mid' to ward mid to late game. If no one complies...just do it urself..it may lead u to a successful gank or save from one..i actually won a 3 vs 5 just by spamming wards that lead us to some great ganks and beat the opposition with just Ra, PR(Me) and the 3rd hero i can't remember
- stacking; i'm rough on this but i did it in a no-stats a few days ago and created a safe farming lane for GB(Me) and Myrmidon
Lastly don't play the game if it frustrates you to the point that you wanna break ur keyboard...if ur loosing in matchmaking, take a break and play public no-stats..troll if u want to and let off some steam or actually be a 'try-hard' and test ur skill level...that's what i do..and you can PM me if ur interested...mind you, not a pro myself but I try to be as much of a team player i can be
P.S. How long does the acceptance from E takes, Katieeee?
I've been on the same wave and dropped to same hole as you're at now. Personally, I only pick support when we have a strong lineup already as normally people that agree on decent lineups will probably benefit the most out of it. Also, you always ward. Period. It's the main reason I've quit playing with heros that are unable to ward. Well, none of this is probably news for you anyway, but the fastest way to climb ranks is to be the least dependent on other heros as possible - this means take mid stomp heros. Early ganks/towers/kills make people concede or lose their focus really fast at your bracket. What I usually do is queue with a friend and alternate between 2 roles. One takes a semi carry/mid hero while the other takes a ward ***** support/disabler to make sure other lanes don't feed and that you aren't caught by pubtrains as well.
Other than that you also need to improve. Doesen't matter if you think you're better than the usual trash, if you're not 'good' enough to solo the game for your team you're not going anywhere sadly.

just wanted to share...
match making rating sytem works, i created my current acc and learned to play in this.....
i went down as far as 1100 at the begining....yeah ....1100 is HELL....and as i played, but trying learn how to play, reading guides....seen videos....practicing, etc.....i started coming up, now im 1464 and going still up,...i know 1464 is BAD, but im pretty proud that i got there myself from 1100, and according my knowledge about the game was better my rating was gettin better too....
so i dont blame my team and other causes of my mmr....wich is what a deserve....
I feel for you bro. I had the same experience as well of losing 20 streaks and winning only 1 game. From 1650 down to 1450.
Now climbing back again slowly but surely.
I will suggest to pick the MMR but with Verified games only. There's less whiner and afker and noobers and shtters on the verified games.
Then pick PEBB, GAUNT and ARTESIA.
I hate when people say pick mid heroes. You can do a lot to influence a game from sidelane also. Learn to harass/last hit better and you can get a big advantage for 2 heroes sidelane and also shut down 2 enemies in a sidelane.
In fact, I'm best when it's 1v2 sidelane b/c if you're good enough, you can learn to control the lane positioning perfectly as you want, not die and sometimes get kills, get the level advantage compounded with denies and totally win since jungle also gets freefarm + level advantage.
In pubs? I play wildsoul....
Wildsoul is ridiculous ganking hero, coupled with strong lategame and powerful pushing he is a pubstomp hero. Not to mention that he is a jungler, who is often forgotten about by the enemy
But he is hard to play...
I would suggest either picking a ganking hero or a pushing hero - or both (Wildsoul, Torturer come to mind)
I also sometimes play with Lego (another jungler) or pharoh (he can decimate enemy teams if that aren't smart)
And a special mention goes to warbeast - He is completely out of the meta, but with a semi-decent team and with good map control. You control the meta and the pace of the game. But why I am mentioning him is that he can absolutely faceroll towers, just like wildsoul

we will go through standard disable combo lanes and support techniques.
This is crucial.
sometimes picking an astrolabe or a mana ring when you get good early farm can become a game changer, even on someone like swift. I know it sounds uncommon. But when you know your team is likely to overcommit, the astrolabe or mana ring come in handy for those turn arounds.
Half truth...
There're heroes you can use to lead your team to victory, like monkey king, devo, swiftblade, bloodhunter, pebbles, panda.. etc...
But there're other heroes that can't win if their team suck. Some junglers (if your team feeds hard in the lanning fase), supporters like empath, heroes without pushing habilities, etc...
Well maybe they can if they're played by some 24/7 pro, but not all of us can spend all that time playing.
I don't even like any of the heroes i said...
HoN is a great game to play with friends on a team mm. But when you play solo, it's a bit unbalanced. It seems the game is balanced only by mmr and not by kd and total of games played
Add me in game and get skype if you don't have it. I'll help you out.If anyone can mentor me or help me review over my replays I would appreciate it a lot.
The thing about leading in the sub-1500s is not just the hero you play, but how you lead. If you can get lots of kills and such, yeah, that can help convince your team to follow, but if you play a different hero, it's not that tough to lead unless the team is intentionally throwing.
The second time I marched from 1300 back up to 1500+, I did it mostly as a solo Q'ing. Yes, Empaaaaath! I'm not a "24/7 pro," but you don't need to be that good to lead. Here's my three simple steps to leading as a solo Q'ing support down in the sub-1500's:
1. Learn and apply your basics consistently. No offense to any sub-1500 players, but they're down there because they're VERY inconsistent on basics. If you apply the basics consistently, you have the edge. Show off to your team. Boast. Show them and the opponents who deserves to have higher MMR. As a support, this is easily achieved by boxing out opponents, ganking other lanes, and such.
2. Once that dominance role is starting to show, solidify it by gaining the total trust of your team. I personally found teaching my allies basics, like a Lego how to stack camps, other supports new warding spots, and good hiding spots for ganks, wins their loyalty very quickly. Compliments always work too. But avoid getting mad or becoming negative no matter the circumstance. The second you make it clear you're mad or you make a totally negative comment about a teammate's flaws, you start losing credibility fast. That's the point where your team starts pinging all over the map and trying to take that leader spot away from you. ;x
3. Lead with a balanced approach. Do not be overly conservative or overly risky. To keep your team loyal, you need to keep giving them results. In the early and mid game, this is using basic map awareness and vision to go for those team ganks. Sub-1500 is Overextended Land, take advantage. If your team gets antsy and starts pinging risky opportunities, do not take the risk. Use your flying courier to scout. If the area is clear, compliment your team for good awareness. If it spots a 4-man patrol spotted, just tell them an opportunity will come.
Won't work for everyone, but if it worked for me, I hope it can be useful to someone lol.
