In general yes, there are some exceptions, but in general the mod section is dead. I said this in 2011, that would eventually die. Now it's too late to recover it =\

Personally I find this quite sad as I only discovered the mods a few months ago and am loving the few I installed :\

I think the problem is that while most people would enjoy mods they think of them as something that is meant for "super nerds" and will be too much effort to install so they don't even bother coming here to the mods section and finding out about them. With this lack of interest it becomes less rewarding to create mods and thus all the modders losing interest.

I have about 5 friends now playing with Mods that would have never taken the initiative to install them had I not done it for them and now they can't imagine playing without them!

I wonder if it would be possible to increase interest for them somehow?

Ah the good old times... until S2 came and banned tons of users (including me) from playing in the inter servers.

By the way, I find amazing my website was getting new registrations everyday until now (now I'm making another website, and mods will be the secondary part instead of primary).

These mods here were something amazing to do, I remember greatly improving my skills at Photoshop and 3DSMAX by the time we were doing these.
S2 decision = they lose developers and players, we lose will to continue doing these = Everyone loses.

What I can think of this all is that they just gave up with the birth of Valve Dota 2. A sad ending instead of try to improve the community of this amazing game (yes HoN is amazing but the company not).

I have to disagree here. I know you two are from Latin America and I can understand your disappointment.
You're both very nice guys, decent players and you know how to communicate with others.

I played Dota 2 "Captains Mode" with a huge group for some time... The amount of russian retards I encountered is unbearable.
I rather play HoN now. It's even more fun for me solo or with 1-2 friends.
The forced delay, the (in my opinion) bad graphic of Dota 2 AND the lack of regional restriction brought me back.

I sincerely hope that the "service" of HoN LA will improve. It's still way better than Dota 2...

Well, IMHO Dota 2 is way more balanced game. I don't play captains mode, as I'm a regular random public/casual gamer. I don't think Dota 2 is a great game. It was like 6 months ago. Now, the community has destroyed the game again. The point of this kinda of game is to play it following some "rules" (more like standard gamers behavior). Every single game has one person that just disagrees with this, and as one player can easily ruin the gaming experience, games are ruined. Trolls, people just saying "I mid (Zeus) vs Pudge". He feeds like hell, then or leave or just feeds more just to annoy the others. This is so sad.
