Love it!
Like it.
I don't think it's the best option, but it's an improvement.
I feel that the current system is better than this one.
I would like to add one thing to the base idea (not sure if it had already been mentioned, I don't read 15 pages of comments):
If the randomed heroes that are allowed for each player, the F2P Players have a real advantage above Legacys.
e.g. if ophelia is NOT F2P - and the F2P Player can't play her, so he would repick her if he randoms ophelia - there's no chance that he may random her. In opposit a legacy player has no chance to prevent himself from randoming heroes he isn't able to play.
So basically a F2P Player must be able to play 30 heroes (the pool) so is not required to repick anytime because of a hero he can't play - while legacys need all heroes.
:ChargedHammer: was my idea! prove here:

This will definitely be a better system that what is currently in place. If I can give two suggestions.
1. Definitely add that upgrade to Legacy Feature, but call it something else like. Upgrade to Full Access. Dont take my legacy title away haha.
2. I think the community should choose 15 of the heroes with a vote. Open a poll, ask people to vote on what they believe are the best 3 heroes to add to the free to play. Then after a week or two, take the top 15, and then have S2 add the other 15 themselves.
That is good. 30 Heroes are already way too much for beginners. I hope Night Hound, Flint and Scout wont be part of the pool.
I think u definitely need rotation even if it's for a small number of heroes
like 10 heroes and the rest can be static
if u don't introduce new heroes every week
all of the normal players ( not pro ) will just play with them and won't buy any new heroes with gold
i like the idea of the free hero pool but i still think that a weekly rotation of heros is something that brings a flavor to hon that helps players not only improve there game play by trying out many heros but also adds to the game by having only a few heros that forces players to do or die in a sense which helps broaden the players playable heros (i.e. heros that player does very well with).
yeah i agree with some in here...Although this is a good step 30 standard heroes would be boring if there is no rotation. As many here said 20 standard and 10 rotation heroes is the best choice!!!
yep 20 static and 10 rotation sound awesome, while keep bringing fresh hero for F2P player to try
i think that it would be better if we do this, but every hon player chooses 30 hereos that want to have F2P or 20 free; those of his own preferance and some rotating hereoes every week as it happens all the time..That was my suggestion..I hope you like it!!!![]()
I support the previous suggestions to have a static pool of 24 heroes and a rotating pool of 6 heroes. I think these numbers are ideal because they allow F2P players the opportunity to try new heroes (thus encouraging purchases), without giving them too much variety for free (which could potentially act as a disincentive to purchasing heroes).
Furthermore, I absolutely cannot understand the whining from other Legacy players about possible F2P-to-Legacy options. In my opinion, such options are vital. They don't detract from my account (or any other Legacy account for that matter), and in fact potentially provide a better overall experience, as it means I would be more likely to play with and against players who have access to the entire hero pool. The only reason people could logically complain about this is if the new options cost less than the original Legacy price, which simply won't happen.
Thats goood idea but pls make
20 standard and 10 rotating and make the silvercoins easier to earn it it takes to lang to buy a hero like Amun Ra
I definitely feel the idea of 20 static and 10 rotating is a very good idea.
still adds variety as well as a base hero pool for learning.
and of course the 10 heros should be easy to play. in other words dont give scout or nh because that would just piss people off
other than that all the other finalized solutions are very nice!
Very good idea of 21 static and 9 rotating heroes(to be balanced in int, str & agi heroes), i think, the best one

After having read through the thread, i see a lot of legacy players being 'ripped off'. what you got, and will still get is a pretty ****ing great deal compared to what the non-legacy players got. All heroes free, other modes (seriously, all pick sucks. a lot.) and a discount on EA heroes. (by quite a lot.) And you're feeling ripped off that they're reintroducing this, when they say it was going to be unique. why not take a mid-way? I myself, got into HoN after legacy was long gone, and as soon as i was the 90 free heroes sale, i got it. it was just a suck good buy (not regretting it, no matter what you will do) but i'd rather pay another 30 dollars for a legacy, by far. but that is not what i'm trying to say. the ting i want you, legacy to understand is how bad it is to be free. grinding silver takes FOREVER. god is a few heroes, for 30$ you can buy a few of the old DotA heroes, but faaaaar from all. What i want is a separation.
Legacy: You get all heroes free, EA heroes at a discount, and after a certain time (2 weeks?) you'll get the EA for free. However, you should get something more. throw in a name colour, or a symbol.
New 'legacy' : Get all heroes for free, no discount (or a small one) at EA. after a certain time, maybe a month they too get the EA for free.
And last, free to play, those who get the 30 free heroes. (25+10 rotation would be better through, since that allows different heroes, so that every game won't be as dull in 1200-1550 range. )
Now, For those that bought the 90 free heroes, why not add in a discount at the "New legacy", since it won't be as good trade for them, or add in a name colour/other vanity? i think this would satisfy most of they player-base. legacy remains unique, players who are dedicated to the game can get good if they're not legacy/90 free heroes and free to play gets improved too. Maybe add in a 'legacy only' option in matchmaking for legacy and 'new legacy' who has played more than 200 games?
For god's sake we F2P players are so stressed out about not having a wide range of selections to choose from. I've tried to introduce about 5 of my friends but they all quit after hearing you have to keep playing with 5 silver coins approx per game and not being able to adapt to the game due to restrictions like not being able to use ANY of the heroes. They get stressed out when they came to play a game for fun yet they have to worry so much about starting off. Yes the rotations help the gamer learn the game in some way but remember how you guys felt when first starting off to play. If maybe they had abit of freedom; thry won't rage quit the moment they come in. I like this game ya know and i want my irl friends to play with me too.

Better idea:
Ok, use this new system, but give to ALL Legacy accounts 30$ in gold coins so they can spend it as they like.
Easy.
nooooooooooooooooooo, please, 30 it's muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, if it's 9 (3 per atribute) and still rotating will be better
or dont change![]()
dw punch!
