    Effect of Stacking Iron Bucklers

Hi all, I was just wondering if having two Iron bucklers(stout shield) as opposed to one is actually beneficiary. This mainly applies to legionnaires whom I see get 2 shields at the beginning. What are the advantages to this?

as far as i know it increases the total block chance from 60% to around 85%. personally i would get 1 shield + more regen or 1 shield + stats + some regen. the charge gives you the mitigation boost you need with just one anyway

I don't know the matematical therms, but they stack as Tomcat said. 1 shield gives you 60% chance to block, 2 shields = 84%, 3 shields = 90%, and so on.

I find the best option to go 2 shields and regen.

That second shield adds about 4.8 damage block, on average, every time you are attacked. Since Legionnaire in jungle is attacked quite a bit, this incremental 4.8 damage adds up very quickly. Level 1 Legio armor = 2.8 = 14.38% reduction. This means that the 4.8 additional block is really only saving you 4.1 health per attack, or 3.28 health per attack per 100 gold (counting 125 sell back). A Health Potion recovers 400 health for 100 gold. This means that a Health Potion is more efficient until you are attacked 122 times, which goes by extremely quickly if you are an efficient jungler.

You can also consider 3 minor totems + Runes of Blight (249 gold) as an alternative. The minor totems give .42 armor and 57 health, and the runes effectively add 345 health. The minor totems then go on to be used in Power Supply and Plated Greaves, both core items (in my opinion) for Legionnaire.

    5028.431.83.4118
    6037.040.23.2124

This means that the 3x totem + Runes of Blight gives better early game survival until you've been attacked a little more than 100 times. 100 attacks goes by quickly, but I find this to be a good compromise considering that you can fully recover the three totems later. The extra 39 mana from totems is also good for about one extra casting of Terrifying Charge.

has anyone considered ring of protection.
easily builds in to a ring of the teacher, and lets you send extra blights or leave the base at 0:02 with an extra set of blights, also legionaire has 2.8 base armor boosting that up to 4.8 would be quite beneficial-

Average Creep DamageAverage Damage (2 Bucklers)Average Damage (1 Buckler, 1 RoP)DifferenceAttacks to Recover 287.5 HP Differential

    5028.429.51.1267
    6037.037.30.31024

The 287.5 HP difference is from runes costing 90 gold but giving 345 health, and 75 gold difference between shield and RoP + runes.
    (75/90)*(345) = 287.5

The reason I prefer 3x minor totem over RoP is because they build into core items, and I do not consider Ring of the Teacher core. Also, as you see by the table, 3x minor totems is more effective for average damage less than 30, which is very typical with proper usage of Terrifying Charge.
