Since I haven't seen more than one person that he/she is listening to Ayreon, I decided to make a dedicated appreciation thread for the amazing project.
I feel like Ayreon is highly underrated and very exceptional piece of artwork which deserves a lot more attention than it gets.
Maybe there are more people that enjoy the beautiful music than just me here.
I think people who appreciate beautiful music will enjoy this a lot.
Most of the songs are dreamy. And I highly suggest listening from the beginning of the albums. Starting with "Prologue" it explains the storyline and is composed of various different songs that you'll get to listen through the albums. So you get to hear a bit of every song in one song.
Also here's a list of random songs for people that don't want to listen from the very beginning - but could be considered as "hooks" to get you more interested in Ayreon.
The music varies alot. Goes from calm, to chaotic, energetic and sad. Moods are all over the place.

brought me to some amazing bands like Katatonia, Opeth, Deadsoul Tribe, etc
also anneke van giersbergen, she has the loveliest voice on earth <3
"The Human Equation" is one of my favorite albums, the concept is awesome, the involved musicians... pretty much everything

Ahh yes. I found out about that album not so long ago. It's going to be released 2 days before my birthday. So yay.
When I saw through it... was a bit odd, but expected from Arjen. I'm looking forward to it. I actually liked a lot of what I heard in the upcoming album. I also read about a year ago that a new album for Ayreon is in the process of making.

a new Ayreon album would be amazing,
not sure what musicians he didnt grab yet (who are worth grabbing),
but he should reinvite some from the old albums

I really love the adventurers from Electric Castle.
Just recently I spent some time looking through some of Arjens videos. It's inspiring. But was a bit disappointed when he said "There's no intended hidden message" in Ayreon. :< He only said there are some "in between the lines". :/ meh.
I've been listening to that new solo one. It's outstanding at the least. But at the same.. it's kind of old. I love that he mixed the music like he did there and I enjoy listening to him sing. Mr. L. being one of my favorite characters. But the music style isn't quite as Ayreons. And the story doesn't seem as "deep". But that's just me I guess.
Although I still haven't gotten tired of it after a straight week of listening. Maybe not the best of his works in my opinion, but still worth a listen. Songs are more uplifting and cheerful at it. The second CD is a bit weird though. Feels like "Bonus" material instead of continuation of the first one. :/
Oh well. Can't wait for the new Ayreon one. I hope it's soon.
Also read somewhere about him wanting to make a movie out of Electric Castle. Was supposed to be 3D animated or something. But Warner got interested, and raised the price by a hell of a lot more - even though the contracts been singed and everything with the person he was going to start the production with. They haven't heard it ever since. Been years or something now. Even though they tried to contact the person again.
:< **** hollywood. I Don't want them messing with Arjens work.
