Hello! My name is WZA and I'm the assistant balance designer for Heroes of Newerth. As part of my duties, I manage the SBT client, which is short for "Super Beta Testers".
What is SBT? SBT is comprised of a group of players picked from the community to test upcoming content. They play on a special, private version of the HoN client and provide the designers with feedback on unreleased content ranging from new heroes, balance changes, reworks and other potential additions to the game. For their participation, these players earn gold coins and have a hand in shaping the future of HoN.
A good SBTer is a dedicated, passionate HoN player. The feedback gathered from SBT is vital to the design process and without players, there is no feedback. During the testing times, there can be as many as five separate test games running at once so the more dedicated testers, the better!
Since we're always looking for more interested players, we've decided to host a special, in-house tournament to help raise awareness for SBT. The single-elimination tournament will feature over 16 teams of our SBT players and a few S2 members and will be played on the regular HoN client. Hmmm I would kind of love to participate in sbt again since you guys fixed the insane amount of k2crash I was getting on the client side ( thanks for the UI optimisation patch ) im sure it would also work on private test version but until school is finished I wont be avaible from 2pm to 6 pm. Probably gonna try to get back in sbt when school is over and my job schedule becomes stable.
edit: oh and grats on the s2 position wza.

No chance to apply... so i will wait and watch how good SBT's are and if they will show us some new mechanics in heros or gameplay which most of us are not familiar with

Retail Candidate Testers are not S2 Games employees. Nevermind you probably have no idea what RCT is.
Anyway you can apply here, and read about it here.
Don't hesitate to report all of your teammates using thefunction.
Open a thread for everything you can think of and just ignore the Forum Rules.
