Vodin, the Master of Arms
Having lived his entire youth under the Blacksmiths of Iron City, Vodin's eyes never gazed upon the crafts of his bloodline. Instead his eyes were always upon the rabble and roughness of the warriors that come to and from battle.
Often accompanying the Legionnaires on their patrols, his eyes have beheld many battles. Soon, he himself became engaged in the art of battle, exceeding far beyond his own expectations. With the armaments created by his friend, The Engineer, he has vanquished many Beasts. The most memorable of his battles, ended in a stalemate with the Blood Hunter: The beast's fleshy wings were tattered, and Vodin's right eye was lost to the hunter's claws.
Vodin rose through the ranks in the army of the Legion of Man, and in time the New Legion's. His ferocity rivaling those of the beasts, his leadership that no man would question, and his mastery over every form of weaponry earned him the title: The Master of Arms.
"Rally to me Soldiers!" - Vodin, the Master of Arms

Hantumon, the Night Hound
Born from a taboo bond between man and beast, Hantumon was abandoned by his human birthmother. With the blood of both man and beast flowing through his veins he was hunted by humans, and outcasted by the beasts. Being part human, he had an innate sense of survival and was gifted with human speech; his leonine blood gave him agile reflexes and predetorial instincts and his nightly colors let him blend with the shadows.
Hantumon had long been on his own, till he was met by the queen of the beast horde herself, Ophelia. Rumored to be one of an unnatural parantage as well, Ophelia and Hantumon had a mutual understanding. It was Ophelia who gave him the name "Hantumon" which both means "ghost man" and "That which kills". He grew accustomed to his life in the Beast Horde, using his innate abilities to scout through Legion camps and assassinate high-ranking officers. He was then dubbed by the Legion of Man as "The Night Hound", a name he eventually took pride on.
With the formation of the New Legion, Hantumon continues to serve Ophelia's Beast Horde whilst struggling to be accepted by the humans, whose blood also runs in his veins.
"Beware the darkness of the night! For in its guise lurks a hunter bringing your demise"

Hiro, the Swiftblade
The warrior known as Swiftblade has always been an enigma to the many warriors of The Legion. Once a proud savage by the name of Hiro from the a nomadic tribe, Hiro was one of the finest warriors among his people. With extensive training in melee combat, his strength was unmatched. Boasting himself worthy of any foe, he had set out to the jungles of Darkwood Vale.
Despite his power and strength however, he was unable keep up with the speed and cunning of the agile beasts lurking in the jungles of Darkwood Vale. Crippled and wounded, Hiro found himself wandering lost in the jungle till he finds a ruin within the vale. As a means to mislead the beasts, he shed his bloodstained pelts and threw them into the jungle.
Within the ruins, he hears a voice calling out to him, drawing him deeper and deeper into it. Soon he came across a sight of splendor: a set of armor that had layed untouched by man and time itself. Without any hesitation, he adorned himself with the oriental armor for not any sooner did the beasts arrive having catched whiff of his scent. As the final peice of the set was worn, the headpiece to the majestic set, he could feel his body lighten and his senses heighten. In an instant, he danced through the beasts with his blades in tow cutting through them like the swift winds.
He celebrated his own victory, yet soon his joy was replaced with fear, for he could not take off the ancient armor. Thoughts not of his own began to invade his mind and just as how swift as he vanquished the beasts - did Hiro the proud savage disappear, leaving only the warrior known as Swiftblade.
"There is a tale, of an armor that gives great power and agility, but those who adorn it becomes nothing more than a slave to the armor itself"

Krixi, the Moon Queen
Deep within the forests of Newerth is a clan of nocturnal insects, swift and cunning insectoids that rule the nights of the forests. These “Moon Warriors” have long since then stood on neutral grounds during the wars between the Legion of Man and Beast Horde, only taking up arms in their defense and hunts, never for war. Like any insectoid colony, they are led by a queen whose word and will is the law and are blessed by the mystical powers of the moon – “The Moon Queen”.
When the previous queen is near death’s door, she calls forth the strongest female warriors amongst the brood, Krixi was one such warrior. With her mastery over one of the unusual of weapons in their arsenal, the Luna Shuriken, she was one of the most formidable warriors that have long since then with her prowess and command protected the colony from invaders. Under the watchful eye of the court advisor and mentor, Pestilence, Krixi succeeded the throne upon the death of the previous queen.
Her life as the new queen was never an easy one, besides from dealing with the day to day troubles and requests of the people; her life was always in constant danger from assassination attempts from the Legion of Man. Often times she would wish to return to her life as but a simple warrior, where she had no worry over matters that did not truly concern herself.
Time and time again her court advisor often suggested that she take action and use the force of the Moon Warriors to strike back at the humans who hunted her, time and time again she would reject the idea, upholding the peace that the queens before her stood for. On the day of the second coming of the Hellbourne, Pestilence suddenly vanished, and the assassination attempts continued to rise each day. Not much later, her guards found an abominable sight in the den of the missing court advisor: Human scouts and assassins imprisoned and tortured within its hollow walls. In her presence, the released captives revealed themselves as envoys from the Legion only to be captured by the court advisor, promised freedom in exchange for the head of the queen.
This sudden realization and the ongoing Hellbourne menace was what led the path to a new era of her people. After the captives were mended and were sent out to return to whence they came, the queen herself in the guise of the night followed them all the way to the New Legion’s camp. There, Krixi revealed herself to the leaders of the New Legion not only as a queen, not only as an envoy for her people, but also as a warrior who will fight against the Hellbourne threat.
"Who better than to lead her warriors into the fray than their queen herself?" -Ophelia referring to both Krixi and Herself

Duvessa, The Fayde
The war between man and beast went on, Men leaving their wives and children to defend their home, Beasts leaving their homes and land to defend their people. The war was honorable, each man and beast felt his cause was just and fought on for what they believed was right, they fought for their freedom, they fought so they might never have to live in fear again... Naive and idealistic.
The war went on, and the death-counts rose on both sides, the war became less about honor and freedom and more about hatred, savagery and murder. The two leaders of the opposing factions tried their best to remind their soldiers what the war was about, but even in the brightest sunlight, shadows are formed.
The Hellbourne, preparing for their war against the Men and Beasts, started perverse, evil rites to utilize the latent fears of beast and man alike and create demons that embodied those fears. The spider queen Arachna was the first born from these profane rituals, she embodied the human fear of spiders and all things eight-legged, but the Hellbourne were not satisfied, they dug deeper into the cursed books of the Argaemmon, failed again and again in their quest to bring the personification of the deepest fear, a fear shared by man and beast alike and born from the evil that formed in their hearts.
At last, Duvessa, a creature known as a Fayde was born, coming from the primordial fear of the dark and the evil that stewed in the hearts of beasts and men, she was the ultimate assassin. There was no hiding place, for as long as there was a shadow, there was Duvessa.
"A shadow is only absent in complete darkness, significantly worse for you" - Duvessa, The Fayde.
*Duvessa is a Gaelic name that means "Dark Beauty", i found it apt.

Just one request , if you came up with the Hero names, could you please put a footnote saying where you get the name from? Some symbolism behind it would be nice.
Although....what happens if you get to the units like,
and so on? do you still give them the names?

I pretty much inteprete it as what made her to join the Legion. Previously a travelling bard, the village she stayed in was attacked by Slither and she got rescued by the Legion army. Of course you can delve further back into her history, but as a short story I think what's presented in her "lore" right now is sufficient. The idea of the "turning event" is probably what that lore contains.

If that question is directed to me, the names of Nighthound, Swiftblade and Moon Queen are how they are called in the game's files, thus I can assume that they originally gave them proper names, and that's where I got them from.
@Blueflash, you may want to remove 'The' from "The Fayde" since Fayde is an actual name.
so....Fayde, the Duvessa ?

Andromeda, The Star-born Celestial
During the advent of the war between the Legion and the Hellbourne, Queen Ophelia called for her shamans, to ask the land, the water and the sky for their aid.
The shamans called forth warriors from each plane of nature, and further went as far as to call for aid from the stars.
The stars, celestial entities of unimaginable vastness and quantity, communed with one another. Fearing the destruction of the planet they watched over, they banded together into a single will. From this single collective will was Andromeda conceived, sent down form the heavens with but a single thought: to aid in the war against the Hellbourne and to protect the people of this planet watched over by the stars.
"Hear our call, o celestial bodies of afar, lend your aid give us the power of the stars" - Legion Shamans
