Energizer and plated greaves will help you out ALOT, go for minotaurs for the aoe stomp, or if you have trouble catching up to people use the skeletons nets, they arent quite as good but they are easier to manage. If you want to burst you can get the big green guys with the line aoe dmg ability, cast your damage amplification spell first, then tab to your creeps one by one and zap the target with their nuke.

I use Ctrl + 1 for my hero Ctrl + 2 for my hero and creeps, Ctrl + 3 for my creeps by themselves.

Decent items if your going for a full creep build are

Bulwark, Energizer, Plated Greaves, Daemonic, Abyssal

SOTM is pretty decent if you wanna help your team out too.

Also make sure you buy wards, i generally buy two wards at the beginning, up courier and spend the rest on mana potions then head to the jungle. Place one ward for the rune spot and one ward to defend yourself from ganks

If you play her right, and your team makes use of her theres no reason to go to late game. You can push down the enemy towers SO fast with a wave full of creeps activating plated greaves just before you get to the tower.

Also alot of people dont seem to realise that her nuke can also be used to teleport an ally home. So keep in mind if someones low on your team running away that you can port them home safe and sound.

SOTM lowers her ulti cooldown to like 30 seconds or something, its really good.

Controlling creeps is just a question of practice, make sure you run the creeps in front of your hero, as soon as you come out of the woods to gank pop your energizer (this helps with not being so great at micro because its easier to get your creeps into position). As soon as your creeps are on them, pop a stun with a minotaur and use your plated greaves and damage amp on your target. If you do it right they should be stunned for 3 seconds, and thats all you need.

Watch, me playing ophelia. My strategy is to start enemy jungle and gank bot first, then mid and go back to own jungle. That is just some basic ophelia gameplay in 1700s

Actions done through minions don't count towards APM.

Also, could play some RTS's if you want to improve your microing.

I used to play a TON of Ophelia (had about a 95% win rate with her). There are a lot of ways to play an effective Ophelia, but you can reach the same results by playing her "easy mode". If you're just starting out with Ophelia and want to build up your skills with microing, this might suit you a little better until you get more comfortable with her timing and microing in team fights:

    - Start with RoT and a ward
    - Farm SotM first item (should take 9-13 minutes)
    - Gank whenever you can (the more ganks, the faster the staff)
    - If enemy mid or the enemies in your lane leave to gank/counter-gank, take their tower
    - Get red boots and start pushing with the team for another tower (a 5-man push with a SotM Oph at approx 15 mins is REALLY hard to stop for pubs)
    - Finish Greaves, keep pushing
    - Build Astro, keep pushing
    - Build Nome's, keep pushing
    - Kong whenever you can
    - Game should be over around 20-30 minutes or you really start to drop off

    - In teamfights, keep all of your minions and yourself selected. (For best results, try and only grab Minotaurs and Catmen) Use your slow on whichever hero you want dead first and get your creeps right in the middle of the action. Then, just hit 'next unit", Q, 'next unit', Q, 'next unit', Q, switch back to self and astrolabe, wait a couple seconds and ult.

Again, this is for the EASIEST way to use Ophelia if you're trying to get a hold of the ropes and learn how to use her. This will give you a great base to change up items, gank more or less, teamfight better, and give you a foundation for simple microing. I had almost a 100% win rate with Ophelia using this strategy. It seriously works.

Ophelia is good all game. She is an excellent push hero, the best jungle ganker, stomps 1v1 gankers like bloodhunter with the right creeps, and can be played a number of ways. If you are new I would suggest NOT first picking her as she can be easily countered by heroes like parasite, legionnaire, and behemoth. Pick her if the enemy team is low on aoe nukes and you will be able to practice with less frustration. Start with the three micro set up : Ophelia + creeps, Ophelia alone, creeps alone. Focus on the first of these and learn to tab through creeps while executing their abilities. Memorize the order they are in. When ganking, start with Ophelia's Q which will slow them down, allowing your creeps to get closer and use their abilities. As you get more advanced you can macro each creep to a different hotkey, allowing for some brutally effective tactics. Here are a few examples:
    - when ganking a stunner have Ophelia come from the front and the creeps from behind. Usually the person will stun Ophelia , leaving the creeps free to combo.
    - stack multiple spawns at once by dividing your creeps up. If you are fast enough you can pull 2-3 spawns between 53 and 56 seconds
    - always have ancients triple stacked for your carry, or farm ancients with ease at level 7.
    - have a skeleton king on hand to interrupt tempest ultimate
    - have an ice ogre late game to give yourself and teammates a massive armor buff.

As far as items go, ALWAYS get plated greaves. Aside from this you can go heal bot with astrolabe / SotM , semi-carry minion master with a rushed whispering, sols, abyssal and sheepstick (usually can pull this off in pubs), or a full support.

Practice makes perfect with a micro-oriented hero like Ophelia. The most important thing is knowing when to pick her.

Yea and the players who enjoy easy mode are going to stand their ground and try to kill your ophelia while your creeps rip them apart

    Ophelia is good all game
As long as noone on the other team happends to pick a parasite

    he promised you order

The most important thing, I feel, is that you should remember that your main objective is to beat the enemy team. This means that it is NOT better to afk-farm in woods, even if it gives you 450gpm, because while you're doing this, an enemy (probably 2v1) lane will be winning, where you could instead be ganking like crazy, transferring your gpm to your allied carry while reducing the gold/xp-gains of your enemies.
Ophelia is incredibly strong, and you should be ganking a lot (not always, of course, you will need SOME farm and xp)
If your sololaner faces an ungankable combo, switch woods and gank mid and longlane. Mid is really easy to gank for oph if you're in the enemy woods, and you don't really have to fear being ganked, since you're frickin OPHELIA!

Catman lvl 1 is your friend.

for me being a very experienced Ophelia player (my most played of all time), I felt this was the best post so far^ I'd type more but if I started I'd have way too much to say and honestly i just don't have the time to write that big of a post right now

Take FULL advantage of her monster ganking capabilities and unstoppable push power early on, or just pick another hero if you're going to afk-farm or be the ward/stacking ***** (while not ganking heavily or pushing), there are much better heroes for full supporting and you might as well not pick Ophelia if you aren't going to gank or push early on.

Always keep these in mind when picking Ophelia: she has the highest bloodlust chance of all heroes, has the strongest level 1 lane presence (in other words, capability of COMPLETELY forcing people out of the lane while your ally gets free farm), has THE strongest push in the game by level 7 (maxed creeps + heal), and lastly she doesn't need any farm to do any of these things. Take advantage of ALL of these things, and that is what will actually make you a prophelia, not so much the micro.. in truth it's very easy to micro, for the most part it's just right click and tab-Q, you're trying too hard if you think it's harder than that (yes microing like a boss can give you more advantage, but it's not that important over the other things).

I'll let other people have a chance to give input as I don't have time to really go in-depth about anything, but I'll pop in here and there for some more tips as other people mention things. Sorry!

familiarize yourself with micro and managing creeps
use hotkeys and early level ganks are equally important
push towers when the lane isnt occupied
that is how u play ophelia.
