People: Believe it, or not, a farmed hard carry is useless unless they actually KNOW wtf they are doing with said hard carry. For the love of everything beautiful, next time you see a magebane not go for a Shrunken Head, GET A ****ING CC ITEM! You put a hellflower/sheepstick on a carry who thought he was too cool for Shrunken/Defensive items and went all out on damage items and you have successfully turned it into a useless hero. What is a scout with just Runed Cleaver/Shield Breaker worth, if you invested some money on an eye and dropped him before he could even get into the fight? What good is a Flint who dropped to a PK Witchslayer or Pebbles because he decided that getting Shroud was the way to go?
The same applies for item choices. For the sake of familiarity I will exemplify a typical pyromancer scrub:
PK - Riftshards - Staff of the Master (maybe I am giving too much credit, a lot of the time people even skip PK/Tablet, even in the 1700 bracket). Can ANYONE here explain to me when this build is viable in a real game? "cuz u do moar dmg"?

People fail to realize that heroes like Pyromancer are capable of destroying hard carries even in the late game if they were to build it correctly. You stick a PK/Tablet - Sheepstick on a pyromancer and you WILL blow up a hard carry in a fight, hands down, no questions asked - at the very least until the very late game, when the hard carry is stacked beyond belief.
With the aforementioned build, you have essentially turned your pyromancer into a chain ccing, autoattacking machine, that just so happens to have disgustingly high dmg spells at very low cooldowns - Not just a crystal cannon who blows his load into some poor support and is forced to run away from the fight, having become useless thereafter.
And for those people who say stuff like: "BRO! MID CAN GET HIS OWN WARDS" Ok. I will get my own wards, but don't ***** if I place the most defensive ward on earth, and keep myself alive while I farm to carry you. Or, don't cry if the Hag on the opposing team snipes the courier because you decided to call yourself a support and went bottom (legion) to support your carry without bothering to even get a flying courier.
Don't steal farm from the carry, don't miss CKs as the carry, don't ***** out and stay in the back when you play tank, and especially - and this is my favorite one - didn't listen to your so called "team-mates" call you a noob for not ganking 5 minutes in, because they failed horribly at their lanes when you went mid. Your job as mid is to make sure the other mid gets his ass so throughly destroyed, that he'll have to rely on the foolishness of your sidelanes to get some kind of farm. If you're getting ganked mid (or trying to get ganked lawlz) by the sidelanes 5-6 minutes in, you know you're doing your job as mid and you're doing it right, because the other guy is having to ask for help from the sidelanes.
PS: This is not a madcuzbad post. I've been winning games left and right just because I simply used logic and played my role.

what should flint get against pebb/ws? myst. vest is obvious,and the only item that comes in my mind is nullstone,which still is not an escape mecha.
as for the pyro with staff i have to agree,200 magic dmg bonus can be done later by a carry,and usually they do it to ks or to make sure they get the kill,which again is bad.hellflower is also nice on pyro as you can destroy tanks too,or casters like tempest maybe?(not to mention the bonus stast and mana regen to spam your combo and farm even more).i also find nullstone nice on him(regen+defence).
how do you put these defensive wards for yourself?i can think only the runespots,and the ramps that give acces to your tower/lane.
it is real fun to play with soulstealer against zeph/pebb without any ward.Then they get a haste rune,lanes get owned and calls you noob for not telling miss,even if you did,or ask you to gank since their mid ganked(at level 4!!),but still don't buy a ward even if you stand on your knees and pray them,or if you stay and farm(again as ss),and mid ganks at 6,they don't understand that you got ck+tower while their mid should waste time trying to kill your teammates which should be hugging their tower(because you called miss even if you don't have ward),making their mid waste time,gold and the god damn stupid mid tower.They don't understand that they get the gold lost from hugging the tower, from the tower you destroy mid.they just want ganks and kills.they don't put themselves in your place and say"if i were ss,could i gank?do i have wards?will i waste time?will i get kills?will i get killed?do i have runes?do i have boots?".
obvious after that it is mid's fault because their pebb got a pkey and is so farmed,it is mid's fault because he didn't ganked.oh,and look at mid's items:bottle and red boots."nice ss,carry us please".These people don't know how their hero works,they don't know how ss or mid hero works,or how midlane works,nothing.
When i go mid i try to put wards for myself,but sometimes it is really funny to see supports having 300g-for those things for chalice,runes of the blight,1 heal pot and 2 mana pots.why on earth would you have 2 mana pots if you will make chalice,instead of warding the rune so mid can win/gank,meaning you can finish even ros to supply your mana until the end of the game.but noooo,the support needs mana to get kills on lane.Instead of stacking and pulling,or harassing,spam spells on enemy and creeps all lanephase,push the lane,get ganked by mid,or caught in a bad position and killed by those lane enemies,and tell mid:"they are owning us,noob lanemate,gank asap please"(and mid is like lvl 3).
when i do not go mid,i try to get ward(unless i am carry),and most of the times there is a rune there.and it is there.and it remains there.eventually,the enemy mid gets it.and it is still there.No matter how much i ping it,the mid will not take it unless he gets his bottle.Like it would be hard to push the lane,and get the rune(illusion/dd/regen to push more the lane,get ck and that bottle or haste/invis and gank or surprise the enemy mid with a good positioned combo/stun).but nooooo,he needs his bottle.those runes help you get bottle faster,so you can store even more runes but why bother?

well it is hard to farm since you have to outfarm what your team feeds the opponents.farming requires wards etc.
