Someone just told me hag isn't a carry is this true?
She's a ganker. Falls off late game as her burst doesn't scale.
I believe she has carry potential, if she really gets those good items she needs. Hellflower, kuldras etc. She's nowhere near TDL or Magebane tho.
I would say she is a semi carry. She can be really effective late game if she has items such as sheepstick, hellflower, savage mace or frostwolf skull
Shes not carry, but that doesnt mean she cant win games alone. Its pretty easy to win mid and gank lanes with hag. Hag also can do some serious autoattack damage with huge lvl advantage + hellflower, shieldbreaker combination.

Carrying is the action performed by a carry, which is a hero with one or more damage scaling (%) abilities.
Hag can have a drastic impact of the game and win it single handedly but in no way is she a carry.
So basically you're saying she's a carry but not a carry. You then go on to say that if she gets good items she can do "serious auto-attack damage" which is basically the definition of a carry.

Hag is considered a semi-carry. With good farm she can do really well, same as the other semi carries like valk who have great burst potential near the start but can take on a carry role once their items get heavy.
She can snowball and outfarm the opposing team which enables her to carry. Obviously she does not top the hard carries, but her ability to kill and steal easily allows her to get 1-up on the opposing team, enabling her to get items such as Shieldbreaker/Hellflower much faster after core.

She can definitely dish out some dmg late game as well with the right items, but dont count on her outdoing a "real" carry

She can carry if she gets great farm and builds right. But if you're prioritizing farming over ganking as Hag, you're doing it wrong.

Well the heroes with scaling abilites are mostly considered hard carries. Valk doesnt have an ability that scales, yet she´s a perfectly good carry.
That's because people often overlook stats and how well they scale late.

can easily snowball out of control if played and builded correctly.
Hag can easily carry just as well as most other carries, simply because blink is a super strong skill regardless of who has it :P Not to mention her farming potential is ridiculous...
