The five horseman were pretty cool, but I think S2 can do even better!
Basically, these will be seven new alt avatars based on the Seven Deadly Sins man can perform according to Christianity.

And perhaps purchasing all of these skins might unlock an eighth one. Which will be a 'pure good/altruist' avatar (Archangel valkyrie, Jesus Martyr or Dante Fayde).
I was thinking about these heroes:
Lust - Succubus (seduction)
Gluttony - Devourer (Endless hunger)
Greed - Soulstealer or Corrupted Disciple (Not 100% sure here, yet. It should be some one obsessed with obtaining something)
Sloth - Balphagore (lazy fat man)
Wrath - Madman (Anger/rage) or Torturer (wrath)
Envy - Defiler (Jealous of the living) or Puppet Master (alt skin is a non-living entity that envies life)
Pride - Artesia (Proud Master wizard obsessed with achieving power)
If you think other heroes fit better please tell me. Some of them couldn't fit perfectly as I tried to keep the avatars on the hellbourne side.

I think that Greed should be Midas, he transmutes everything into gold. I think there's a possibility of putting Maliken as pride also.

I considered that as well, but Midas is a legion hero unfortunately. And just like the 5 horsemen I'd like to keep the heroes on the hellbourne sides (they are the sinners!)

I was under the impression that Artesia joined the hellbourne ranks because she was an incredibly powerful archmage and that usually results in corruption. I have also read her background information which states that she wants to revive her husband, but somehow I just remember reading that she went hellbourne in search of power when she was just released. Not entirely sure if that is still true or if I made that up.

First off - i really like this idea for alt avatars, but it bothers me a bit that only Hellbourne seem to be included in your selection. Actually the first thing that comes to my mind when greed is mentioned is compulsory gambling - you can't stop becouse you're always craving a bigger prize, thus your greed drives you on to gamble away your savings, house etc.Originally Posted by Flandre

Pride- Lord Salforis wouldn't be bad but I think that legion heroes will fit in deadly sins too because you know even if they fight on the good side and be the good guys every man on the planet have sinned and has his sins. So blacksmith and Midas fit greed a lot. Also Monarch will fit in Pride role really good too(listen to her lines).

Yeah but I feel all heroes should be on one side (because like the horsemen there will also be background lore). Making the legion team a bunch of sinners just doesn't feel right
Puppetmaster as envy would be great! Because we are talking about alternative avatars here it doesn't necessarily have to be a man holding a puppet. The hero could actually be some sort of puppet / inhuman being itself that is jealous of the real living heroes.
And artesia = pride just feels so right to me. She really has this 'I am the mightiest magician alive, every single one of you is below my level' feel to her.

skins must be the homunculis from the anime fullmetal alchemist brotherhood.
The idea is nice and if I recall right S2 did some alts that din't quite lived to my expectations, some were ugly as hell (like pestilence or sand wraith horseman... ugh!).
Of course they can always add new alts the important thing is that they should match their trait, like Succubuss being Lust not only because of her flirty nature and her desing.
Yes she would be a first pick for a Lust skin alt but think that Fayde or Dark Lady might get a shot at it too. Even Empath since... her's are better than Ophelia's.
I also like the part where you mentioned unlockable alts, there should be more of these around and I dig the idea of an Archangel/Seraph Valkyrie (her current alt drives me crazy to top it off).
As hero sugestion I would say that most of what you wrote down are already good but I would give a few sugestions if I may:
Wrath - Accursed (He has some in-game quotes that are related to his wrath but that's not the only reason; he already embodies a sense of wrath in his design and some other things I can't quite explain without writing the possible background of his past).
Pride - Salforis (one of the heaviest sins in my religion, I can't see any other hero resemble. Salforis just fits in this like a glove on a hand. S2 made him a death rider alt and that doesn't fit him since death belongs to Soul Reaper).
Greed - Soul Stealer (what's there to say besides the fact that you need max cap of souls each time you jump in a fight; this hero has possibly the highest creep killing ratio I ever seen in games probably besides Midas. Midas also crossed my mind as a potential Greed alt, but since you like the idea of hellbourne taking the spotlight I just flowed with the wave, though a man that is plated in gold stands out for a Greed alt pick).

I would pick Armadon. He almost looks like a sloth as is.
Or bubbles. He is a slow talker so it would fit.

I would say Jera would fit more. The Proud paladin.
Then as an 8th i say empath.
It's a great idea, but I think the Legion need a little bit more love here. You said it yourself, the alt avatar doesn't have to actually be the hero. Also focusing on the hero's skills might be a better idea than on their lore.
Anyway, +1 to the yes vote.
If anyone could tell me whether it's possible to turn a .s2z into a .honmod, that would be much appreciated.

This is a brilliant idea. That succubus is awesome. I want a sexy, good and human-looking succubus, like in that pic. The alts are crap for her. One is red and the other one was limited (and gay).

a few things annoyed me with this post.
Sloth in the sins isn't literally meaning the animal Sloth but just laziness (the sloth we know today was named after it because it moves so slow and is lazy)
Madman for one isn't mad, he's crazy and they are 2 different things. Torturer would be good for this though.
Pride and proud are 2 different things, Pride is self vanity (loving yourself) and proud is to be proud of someone else, not yourself. Jera would not fit with this at all, Maliken would be better.
There are only 7 sins...................
