Well I certainly looked like an ass. >.>
I apologize for exploding on you like that. I've been in a severe emotional roller coaster the past few days due to several complications in my life and I lashed out on somebody that I shouldn't have. I am going to be honest when I say I cannot handle stress whatsoever and if I am under a large amount of it, I look for a vent to relief it which unfortunately happened to be you. I didn't really look at the context of your post and I thought you were just telling me I was flat out wrong (which was kind of a last straw), which obviously you were not. Generally I can keep my emotions under control but when stress, worry, and anxiety sets in it can really wear down barriers and let loose a tide of chaotic things, such as an ALL CAPS RAGE!!!!!11!1!11.
I've reflected upon my actions (during a nice hot shower) and I was the one at fault here, not you. You have made a quality thread with quality posts, and you are really working hard to make this work, so it is inexcusable for me to speak to you in such a manner. I will continue to make posts here under a much better attitude because, honestly, this is one of the few interesting reads left in GD and I want to be a part of it.
I apologize for my language, my actions, and my tone.
If I'm ever upset, I'll just make a whole bunch ofbecause he looks so angry.

>>Whereas the Moon Queen ruled over the night, the Monarch held dominion over day.
I am believing the Moon Warriors and the Monarch pretty much live in the same area, but they share it like day and night.
All heroes are op as hell in teaser and spotlight
Seriously, I never win a game when somebody in my team got rage

Yes, I believe so too. However, based on the physiology of samples from each race. (Monarch, Moon Queen and Pestilence) excluding their Alt Avatars...
We can also probably say that there is an unspoken 'territory' as well that: Whereas the Moon Queen ruled over the lands of <Place>, the Monarch rules its skies.
I wonder if there's a cartographer lurking in these forums that could help make/design a map of Newerth.
Anyhow, I think we should begin expanding on the stories of each Hero one by one. Let's begin with the one that needs it the most "Master of Arms" then afterwards go down the list as they appear in the selection menu, starting from Nighthound.
We'll begin by collecting and affirming information, then after enough information is gathered, we can put it up together into an extensive lore piece for the character.
Here are some facts, or would-be facts based on all the information we've gathered:
- Master of Arms was born and raised in Iron City.
- He was originally a Builder, yet trained (by himself?) as a soldier
- We can assume that his parents were both residents of Iron City.
- Despite being a Builder from the Forges of Iron City, he is more inclined to do battle than build gear and weaponry.
- He most likely has a long-standing friendship with The Engineer.
- Some time even before the Hellbourne threat, most likely still during the war with the beasts, he was drafted into the Legion army.
- During the time of the war, he lost his right eye. The size of the scar could very well indicate that it was from a Hunter's claws. (Could possibly be Blood Hunter).
- Nearing the end of the war with the beasts, he was promoted into a General of the Legion of Man's Army, and eventually the Legion Army.
- He may still have some bad blood towards the Beasts, but sees them as capable allies and soldiers nonetheless.
Is there anything anyone would like to append, modify or such before we create an extensive story/lore for him?
"Rally to me soldiers" is really gonna need to be changed soon anyways.
Also, for lore purposes only, we may need to give him a name.

There is definitely a possibility and would make for a nice project. One of the biggest problems I would see is that we really don't know how big the continent actually is. It might be the same size as pangea, it might be smaller, or it could be twice as big for all we know. We also need to know which cities are relative to which mountain ranges, forests, oceans, marshes, chasms, etc etc.
I mean, look at LoL's map.

Their lore or champions don't come from even half of those places but all the same, those places are still THERE. They give their world a shape that they can use and expand upon. We don't even know where the forests of caldavar are for petes sake. Is it on the frontlines of the war effort? Is it a small skirmish? A major battle? Do the legion/hellbourne fight to take it because it's heavy in resources, has major strategic value, or both? I would really like to know the answer to these questions.

Some ideas for Master of Arms' name:
Baldemar - patron saint of blacksmiths
Euderyn - means "Battle Lord"
Gauthier - means "ruler of the army"
I'm coming up with a full detailed lore for Master of Arms, just missing a good name for him.
How about Hephaestus, after the greek god? Hephaestus was a blacksmith, his body was littered with scars, and he was a burly manly man.
Or Wodin (pronounced Vodin), who was one of the main gods in Wagner's "Der Ring Des Nibelungen". He was heavily based off of Odin from Norse Mythology, including the beard and having only one eye with a rather large eye patch covering it, both of which fit MoA's appearance. These are just some of my suggestions.
I'm really trying to make amends here, I'd atleast like a post saying you've seen my apology or not :*(

Vodin, the Master of Arms (Extended Hero Lore)
Having lived his entire youth under the Blacksmiths of Iron City, Vodin's eyes never gazed upon the crafts of his bloodline. Instead his eyes were always upon the rabble and roughness of the warriors that come to and from battle.
Often accompanying the Legionnaires on their patrols, his eyes have beheld many battles. Soon, he himself became engaged in the art of battle, exceeding far beyond his own expectations. With the armaments created by his friend, The Engineer, he has vanquished many Beasts. The most memorable of his battles, ended in a stalemate with the Blood Hunter: The beast's fleshy wings were tattered, and Vodin's right eye was lost to the hunter's claws.
Vodin rose through the ranks in the army of the Legion of Man, and in time the New Legion's. His ferocity rivaling those of the beasts, his leadership that no man would question, and his mastery over every form of weaponry earned him the title: The Master of Arms.

I'd like to ask for the assistance of any mod if it's possible to move this post up to the first page as the post the follows the opening post or something? Since I can no longer add anything to the main post? *bows apologetically* I'm sorry to take up your valuable time, but I would highly appreciate it, as we are limited to threads alone due to the lack of a proper forum/subforum. Please and thank you.

Loving this thread, always wondered about some heroes origin, but im still wondering about chipper.
Could it be that all chiprels are that smart but they just dont show themselfs much and make everyone think that they are just mindless animals, while gaining information.
That would explain the chainsaws from chippers ulti, chiprels undeground hold them.
And some items on the site have lore too, like helm of the victim is used by the hellbourne to make people who get tortured stay alive.

Awesome Post!, keep doing the good job (:
and i like your Enchanted portraits too, wonder if S2 will bring this to oficial patch.
I will probably only write extended/definitive lore for canonical and completely different alt avatars such as Sachi Swiftblade and Flint Boomstick
I won't write lore for Alt AVs that are simply and obviously 'the same person' such as Forsaken Strider and Vacation Dampeer.
Chiprels are comparable to the squirrels of this era. Only a few Chiprels show intelligence, either through magical means, corruption an 'abnormal' growth. These intelligent chiprels act as leaders of the specific pack of chiprels they come from. There is even a religious cult of Chiprels living in Darkwood Vale.
Yes, I am quite interested in some of the items' lore, and in the items that have no lore. I will cover expanded item lores once I've done most of the heroes. For now items will simply be given soft introductions via the "Letters of a Boarkin Adventurer"
One can only hope that they take notice of how advantageous such an eye candy is, just as one can only hope they realize how lore is also important.

You shouldn't write lore at all for the alt avatars imo. They did in LoL and I think it is a bad idea. Now they have to explain in-universe why some of their champions perform in a metal band together.
The only alt avatarts that could be acknowledged in lore are the ones of heroes like Pyromancer (chances are high the The Sacred Order accepts female students) and Scout (we know that female Scouts exist) that are actually multiple units. Though not all multiple unit heroes have fitting avatars for lore, like Electrician and his Demon Buster avatar (would only make sence if he was part of the Legion).
Hmmm, yes, that is quite right I suppose. I'll retract my previous statement then and simply write non-canonical lore for Alt-Avatars as a means of entertainment for people.
Also, o3o I never realized there was an S2 Staff Member named "LoreMeister" I hope he helps with our cause.
I always seeas the disciple of
, the carefree student from the astute technician. If you apply to the change in skillset it could still be canon

Hantumon, the Night Hound
Born from a taboo bond between man and beast, Hantumon was abandoned by his human birthmother. With the blood of both man and beast flowing through his veins he was hunted by humans, and outcasted by the beasts. Being part human, he had an innate sense of survival and was gifted with human speech; his leonine blood gave him agile reflexes and predetorial instincts and his nightly colors let him blend with the shadows.
Hantumon had long been on his own, till he was met by the queen of the beast horde herself, Ophelia. Rumored to be one of an unnatural parantage as well, Ophelia and Hantumon had a mutual understanding. It was Ophelia who gave him the name "Hantumon" which both means "ghost man" and "That which kills". He grew accustomed to his life in the Beast Horde, using his innate abilities to scout through Legion camps and assassinate high-ranking officers. He was then dubbed by the Legion of Man as "The Night Hound", a name he eventually took pride on.
With the formation of the New Legion, Hantumon continues to serve Ophelia's Beast Horde whilst struggling to be accepted by the humans, whose blood also runs in his veins.
