    fps drastically dropping

Hi, I did a fresh install on windows xp sp3 and HoN as well. My system specs are intel E8400, 4gb ram and ati HD4850. My fps randomly drops to anything between 1-10-15 sometimes and randomly so I have no idea how to fix it. In practise mode it seems to be a constant 60. I am using the old shop did in console SetSave cg_usenewshop2 false. What else can I say, I never had this problem before and it's making the game unplayable.

done, also I would like to add that my CPU for some reason goes like 80% or more sometimes really slowing down my FPS. for instance even if I am idle in hon and tabbed out with just irc/bs player and chrome loaded i get around 40-50% cpu usage.

It sounds like your GPU may be overheating. When a GPU (and modern CPU's, too, for that matter) gets too hot, they drastically reduce their clockspeeds. Get a compressed air duster and give your computer a thorough cleaning. Also, make sure your computer case is on the deskTOP, not underneath. Dust accumulates far faster close to the ground and significantly impacts the performance and long term health of the computer.

Here is a longer one in time, normally it works fine but it sometimes jumps up and down
Can go to 1-10-15 fps or stay normal around 50-60

ok so apparently there was some dust stuck in the cooler
I checked my CPU temperature and it was 100C so I cleaned it and now it's at 55ish so seems ok for now
    will keep this post updated
