    DS+Phant Lane

Despite playing for a good while now, I still find myself unable to stop this lane ruining my day big time!

I've heard positioning is key, however. It feels like if you so much as try to last hit you end up dead before you even realise what happened.

So, strategy! Could anyone enlighten on how to avoid getting rolled and/or counter this lane in some way?

    Much thanks!

If Cthulhuphant's charge pushes allied creeps, that's actually a really clever setup.

Probably just focus on staying in exp range rather than worrying about last hits. The charge is pretty easy to dodge as long as you're not trying to kiss the elephant. Not a lot you can do outside of counter-picks, I think.
The John Smith who will shake the world.

Yep. It's just we faced off with MB and WS in the downlane against it and we got our asses royally handed to us. I really couldn't think of a solution x.x

Sounds epic with entangle, charge, healing wave. And DS has really good harass anyway, and Cthuluphant's passive+shield along with DS buffs mean he can chase and kill you and not die in the process.

Can't really think of much of a solution. Pick up silhouette and her imba harass and someone with burst damage. Silhouette+Ra is a great lane combo. I guess any hero with a silence could work. But yeah that sounds like a really strong lane tbh.

magebane shouldn't die, and witch can drain all of k2lus/shamans mana if you level drain to 2 at lv 3.

sacrifice that lane and focus the other 2, really

pick something like bubbles or hag and get away as soon as you hear the trample, also solo against them, so you have atleast the exp advantage

Just don't stand between :chtu: and his creeps. Back off when you see coming close, that most probably means they will attempt to kill you.

It's not that easy to place the stun in a such a way that creeps land exactly around the opponent so use that for your advantage. Also if you have a double stun lane and you are quick enough, you can prevent your ass being annihilated.

Get dev/slither and start owning demented at level 1.

and can at least stop cthulus charge with their Qs (only spells that throw him in the air work against his charge). So its probably the best counter lane.

Pick dual ranged and stay away when creep wave is full bcoz the burst is strongest then. In the end it is quite easy lane to counter once you have died to that combo you know how to stay away from it

Put a blink soloer, like bubs, wh, valk.... and add a jungler. that lane is hard but Chutuluphant isn't going to carry the game..

put devourer in lane, aim for DS

Wait what? You need to elaborate on that a lot because that seems like a recipe for a big fail right there. If DS gets any stats/armor, he will stay alive during early levels long enough for Phant to charge you and at that point you are screwed. Even with the ultimate there are no insurances. Heck better players will probably try to bait for your hook just to get you easier.

Magebane and WS lane works... Dodge cthulus stun, Ws stun-> Mana drain, Magebane auto attack-> mana burn, and then constantly try to get rid of the mana pots. Cthulu has a small mana pool, should not be hard to have him constantly under 100 after he casted 1 stun. If this does not work get a roamer and a solo lane hero that leeches xp and hope for the best

I tend to play this setup with my friend, and its fun as f*ck.
When noobs try to get last hit from the first creep about to die, just charge and instant kill.

Only thing you can do is stay out of range, get jere for magic immune vs stun so u can run away before ds can heal Cthul.

Otherwise you can try to get a ganker and rape DS, or a boss mid that can help you out. Or you can try to trilane the shiet down, hard as sh*t tho

It's probably the worst lane out there atm. They nerfed everything about cthul except his stun. t.t.
Midas is quite a good counter if you got ok reactions. Just use Elemental warp as soon as u hear the charge, and then whip ds's ass at lvl 6. Also, Midas is tanky enough to survive the combo at lvl 4+.
Just dont get meele carries against this lane. Lasthitting is just asking for it.

and how would you counter for example: leggionaire / accursed ? :| I've played against some trolls that were just skipping creeps and me and lane partner couldn't do crap about it :|

assuming you can't predict the line-up, constantly run left-right and DO NOT bunch up with your lane-mate
