I'm also eager to hear what all the american baddies will complain about when they have no more BR's. The entire american player base should be 1700+ in a week by their logic.

My name is Patrick, i'm from Argentina, and i have been playing HoN since 2009, since it was closed beta. Then i played when it was PAY-TO-PLAY.
I have been supporting HoN since 2009, so i think players like me, that made HoN possible MUST be take into account.
I have read the news about the new change coming.. But is this really good? No, it's not good.
As i said i been playing hon since 2009, so over all that time i have been making friends to play with. And all of them are from US and EU.
With this change a lot of users lose their TEAM MATES. People who we are used to play with, know how they play and that is what makes HoN experience better.
I read that some users complain that some people of Latin America doesn't understand English and that makes hard and if not impossible to comunicatte with, during games. My solution, add a simple test to verify that the user knows English and will be able to comunicatte with.
A simple example about region division would be World of Warcraft. In my case, as default the game will be in Latin-american spanish and the region would be Latin America, but Blizzard allows me to play in US region...
Another very important thing is the game style of players. When i first came to play HoN and started to play with US players i notice how different they played, their game style is more aggressive more dynamic.
How do i know this? I play dota since 2002... and as you may know WC3 engine made impossible to play with people in the US, EU and ASIA. So i had to play with ONLY argentine and with the time made it very boring.
I think this new change will make S2Games lost a lot of people dude to this change as also you may know Dota2 will be released in December 2012 and allows you to play in any region, no matter where you are.
Last thing to be take into account, is that users Axeso5.com are all little kids from 9 to 13 years (This is very well known). So...
Why would we all want to to play with immature players that makes HoN experience worst?
Please take into account our opinions.
I wrote this whole "letter" because i care about S2Games, because i want to keep playing and enjoy this awesome game with my friends, no matther were they are.

You wanna expand? Expand with your own legs.
Buy a office in Korea and another in LA and host your own game there. If you look for excellence do it yourself instead of renting sub companies that will not deliver the same product standarts that you care so much about it. Also, you state that you are becoming a large game company... first look around you, to the others large game companies on the market... They all have region servers to better attend their costumers but NONE OF THEM force you to play on a specific server by ip blockin you from all others.
As a HoN Beta Player I must say I still really enjoy playing this game but within this 2 years I kept gettin more and more disappointed with the decisions that s2 makes to "manage" it.
Languague barriers?
You have to come with something better than that... Canadians speak English and French are you going to release another 2 servers for them also? I have friends from Miami who cant barely speak english... dont they diserve a sub spanish server in United States? Brazilians speak portuguese and not spanish and they represent 40% of South America! But creating servers with people who ONLY speak spanish is ok, right? What about making a server where Spain can play with latin america cuz they are the only one in Europe talkin in Spanish!
Wake up S2 we live in GLOBALIZED world.

S2 should make Customs maps for validated accounts only and let the community create maps for people to play.You would see a lot more accounts becoming validated. TD maps,Hero Defenses, Survival maps AND SOOO MUCH MORE could be added to the HoN world.S2 underestimates how popular and sustainable HoN would become if they supported custom maps.It would bring a new player base back to the game and many more validated accounts.
Im not playing in latin america servers period, I know how it is, I changed a game region with gunbound years ago, worst experience I had and I always regretted of that. Also I'm not paying a VPN to play in US, sorry I'm not supporting this game anymore the way it's going.
If this is going to happen I would like a refund.
LoL is one of the fastest growing games in korea at the moment but id guess that as a country HoN would be more suited to the people being the most competitive gaming country in the world with SC1 and SC2 being completely huge for years.

SC2 has region locking. LoL has region locking/division.
It is a necessary step, when a game gains popularity, to subcontract out work to companies that have established architecture in the relevant parts of the world.
S2 can't just build a new office in every continental region they wish to expand in. Reality doesn't work like that.
Just to make it clear: 75% of the people I play, that are on my friends list, and are in my clan with are from Mexico. I'm living in the US. If I can't play with them after this change. GG NO RE... I'm outta here.
Fostering and growing each region in which HoN is played is a great idea. S2 might not be stupid when it comes to increasing their user base, and I'd be happy to be community mature and the user base increase. I love HoN, it is the game I've spent over 1000 hours playing in the last year, but I play mostly because it's a team game that I can play with my friends. If I can't play with them, then there's no incentive for me to play.
Before I played HoN, I played SC2 like CRAZY. One day the people I played with regularly were online less and less, and eventually I couldn't regularly play games with my friends anymore. I played 1v1 for a while, but it didn't have the same flair or fun for me. So I stopped playing when these awesome guys from Mexico showed me HoN. I never looked back. Well... gg S2, if you break us apart, I'm outta here.

But in SC2 i can buy a US-CD key and problem solved, here... nop just IP-Block.
This way for bussiness is just an another example of how bad S2 handle every situation.
Yes, SC2 has region locking, but I can still play with my friends from Mexico. The difference is being able to choose your region.

You guys removed my earlier post from last night, which had no inappropriate language, no trolling, no spamming, no defamation. All it had were well written out points and politely phrased questions. Which apparently you all had no good answers to, and not liking such a well written post pointing out reasons against your decision being available for people to read, decided to remove it instead of responding to it.
At this point it has become exceedingly clear that your company has lost even the lowest of standards, and has now become entirely unworthy of any additional support from any of the people who play your game, perhaps with the exception of the trolls who welcome any change that you make so long as it negatively and adversely affects players who are not them.
Does this mean I will quit playing your game? Likely very soon, despite my appreciation of its in-game qualities. Certainly as soon as this region block goes into effect.
I am expecting this post to be deleted, given that once again no one at $2 will have a good answer to it, and because unlike the post to which I am referring, this new post has nothing constructive to add to the discussion, and is instead aimed at letting you all know (as I'm sure you've heard from thousands of other players), that you are by far and away one of the worst managed game companies I have ever heard of as far as customer relations goes. You're just damned lucky there are so many ill-raised children out there who lack the ability to care about anyone but themselves, as these are the players that continue to stay through everything you do, and will eventually be all that remains of your player-base.
*ninja edit* After some posts were deleted, this reply makes no sense. To summarize: Mexico is a part of Latin America and you won't be able to play games with people from Canada/US and Mexico or anywhere else in Latin America after this change (if it goes through as described).
