bad players will be bad, nomatter where they are from and what language they speak

(this was not directed to you OP)

with this HoN community there will always be a group of people you hate because we all behave like irritating pricks sometimes, specialy me so dividing us up into groups wont make a difference in the long run (it can help a little though)

i wish you the best OP, cheers !

i hope this didnt sound like i was trying to break you down, i was trying the exact opposite but im kinda bad at this =]

    @ xanderK

I've been playing on SEA HoN ever since we got sold to Garena. CIS followed, now you're doing the same to KR and LA.

Basically, S2 is region locking countries because they want to provide a "better" gaming experience to players.

    Garena SEA has no replays.
Garena SEA has no in-game RAP.
Getting straight answers from Garena is near-impossible because the management gives players vague answers.
Servers are crappy. During EVERY Double Matchmaking Silver event, the Matchmaking service went down for quite a while, save for the most recent one.
Garena management even claims that it's S2 that handles the game servers. Is this true or are they passing the blame to you guys?

I'd list more but I only want to make one point: How is this a better gaming experience? I feel bad for the CIS region and now LA and KR are getting thrown away as well. Do you really believe that selling out your playerbase to trashy companies will help growth?

Why dont we also get servers for Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papa New Guinea, etc..
Lets encourage the competitive scene in the Oceania area, besides they are way, waaaaaaaaaay further than South America.

blizzard is merging NA server with Latin america server
    Hon is dividing(?) the servers

    Who is right?

Latin america dont have too many players like other regions... LA server will die slowly...

    Nope.

Travelled to Malaysia 2 years ago, tried running client & it said to dl HoN Garena while I was there. No problems accessing these forums however.

Like my english is flawless... better then a lot of americans since i'm graduated... and now i will not be able to play because the game is going for some spanish comunity...

    Bye Bye HoN...

You think it is a social game and that is why you are low mmr. Some of us PROS are rated 1900 and play with people who know how to play and we don't need to talk about the latest Katy Perry Single. I understand the frustration with people who are leaving us better players.
^ hate soooo muuccchh your cockyness , but it's true, that is a great part of the frustration

You do realize a lot of Korean based players are English speaking citizens who are stationed or work as English teachers in Korea right? So they will no longer be allowed to play with their family members on the US servers.

Why can't you just be smart and ADD the option in the MMR queue server listing for Korea/BR servers? That would make a lot more sense than what you are doing now.

Out of the 900 games I have played I think a max of 10 have been interrupted by non English speaking speakers, and a majority of those are Thai or Philippines. It's really not worth it to fragment the community and you should seriously reconsider this.

Just add the new server options to the MMR queue instead of screwing over a ton of US/AU/EU born citizens.

    • Local Support: We are going to be establishing better lines of communication to players in Latin America and Korea by offering native tech support and help desk teams who can keep them playing HoN when it matters most.
    • Marketing & E-Sport: The Korean and Latin American competitive gaming scenes are about to find out what Heroes of Newerth is all about. We will be better able to reach out to gamers on a global scale and foster growth in the HoN community. Gamers in both regions can expect localized tournaments and prize pools that will dominate some of the most emergent E-Sport markets in gaming.
    • Local Language Support: Let's face it, HoN as a team based game is almost entirely decided by how well a team can communicate and effectively compete. By offering native support for Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese, the HoN experience is going to reach new heights for a lot of people.
    • Local Currency Support: Latin Americans in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, and over 20 other countries will be able to use their local currency to improve their HoN experience and in Korea it will be no different.
Xander, you tell us that the answer for most questions are in the OP... well I tell you, basically you repeat the same idea 3-4 times in only 5 bullet points (notice the use of the word "local" in 4 of the 5 bullet points). I will prove why this does not answer our questions

Basically our main question is... Why is there going to be a IP Restriction?

    Answers provided by S2:
-"More servers means better connections and experiences for everyone. With localized versions of the game into Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean, we can offer a significantly better gaming experience."
So why is there going to be a RESTRICTION for the regions? Why not make it as an option when going to enter the matchmaking queue? - Does not answer question.

-"We are going to be establishing better lines of communication to players in Latin America and Korea by offering native tech support and help desk teams who can keep them playing HoN when it matters most."
So the logic is, implement national tech support and ban international gameplay... Does not answer question.

-"The Korean and Latin American competitive gaming scenes are about to find out what Heroes of Newerth is all about. We will be better able to reach out to gamers on a global scale and foster growth in the HoN community. Gamers in both regions can expect localized tournaments and prize pools that will dominate some of the most emergent E-Sport markets in gaming."
Oh cool, the possibility of having tournaments with prize pools in other countries, great idea!. But wait a second, how does this support the idea of Region Restriction? - Does not answer the question.

    - "Let's face it, HoN as a team based game is almost entirely decided by how well a team can communicate and effectively compete. By offering native support for Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese, the HoN experience is going to reach new heights for a lot of people."
(Notice that you repeat the idea of native support of the second bullet point, together with the idea of language provided in the first bullet point)
Oh cool, you added more language options for the game! But wait a sec, why don't you just make an update where you add options for languages instead of simply restricting by location? - Does not answer question.

    - "Latin Americans in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, and over 20 other countries will be able to use their local currency to improve their HoN experience and in Korea it will be no different."
Pretty obvious that this also doesn't answer why there is a Region restriction instead of a update with an inclusion of options.

So, what I'm trying to say is... Why create a Region Restriction instead of simply implementing options for LA and Korea servers in the matchmaking process, along with language options, for every player indifferent of their geographical location?

As an American living in South Korea, I am extremely disappointed. I won't be able to play with friends from AU, US, or friends in Japan for that matter. Why is this community being further fragmented instead of simply giving people the option of where they want to play? Once this change goes live I will no longer be able to communicate with my teammates and will pretty much have to stop playing.

    What nonsense.

then have a big problem, and who spent money on HoN, will have lost all the money invested in you guys is that right?
much injustice because of half dozen players will be delayed without playing? That and really right? What is it?

    much injustice
    ashamed of you
I'm not criticizing you, you are right to do so but not fair and I have no other hon and because of these idiots

ADM thinks some more and revise these details

    thanks for attention

I want to first clarify that, I am not writing this as a complaint or because I "care" about being blocked. If I was unfairly asked to leave a restaurant, I would leave without kicking up a storm, because it shouldn't be me who's worried about staying but rather the establishment. If I leave it will be their loss, not mine, I can always have dinner somewhere else. Now with that clarified let me share my opinion with you as a gamer that is genuinely concerned for a company who's game I enjoyed for a long time:

I undoubtedly believe you are making the wrong choice. Blizzard, Valve, and most other big companies allow the players to gain the "benefits" of local servers and localized service but that is an optional choice. Because it is only reasonable to believe that in today's globalized society people have friends from all over the world who enjoy playing online games together, so "locking" regions should be something that's completely out of the question.

In fact, Blizzard even allows you to play in any region you want, at the cost of buying their game again. I don't know why S2 does not exploit this, charging something like $20 for access to other regions would be a reasonable price and I guarantee a lot of people would use this service.

I will not try to create imaginary facts like most emotionally distressed people (OMGZ S2 U WILL LOSE OVER 80% OF UR PLAYERS LIEK THIS!!) but I will try to tell you about my situation at least:

I live in Latin America, yet I have plenty of friends and family over at the US that I enjoyed playing HoN with. It was almost like a weekly tradition, friday, saturday and sometimes even sunday were HoN nights and we queued together with the sole intention to have fun. This will no longer be possible, because it seems S2 will just NOT shut up and take our money, they don't want it. And that's too bad because our weekly tradition will continue, just somewhere else, DOTA2 is an option. We didn't even LIKE DOTA2, we liked the changes in balance HoN had made, like the removal of the 0:00 rune and the secret shop, but right now it seems like we were forced to join the competition.

Now, Maliken, do you think it's unreasonable to believe that there will be a lot more people with a situation similar to mine? I don't think so, I sincerely believe, from reading replies and hearing other HoN players in my area, that a lot of us will be forced to move to DOTA2 or some other MOBA to play with our friends at the US. Seriously think about the money that will be lost, again I can't tell you for sure that it will be a large amount, but I can tell you it's probably a lot of players and money lost.

Me, my friends and family will unfortunately not be spending our money here any longer because you kicked us out, not because we wanted to. We will not be watching HoN news any longer because this game is no longer relevant to us, but regardless I still wish your game the best of luck and nothing but success.

Now, allow me to answer a few of the possible replies that will no doubt come from immature US players and trolls:

"This is better, we don't want to play with terrible Mexicans like you" - I cannot wait for this change to take effect and for you to realize that terrible players have no nationality, you will still rage and want to break your monitor at the terrible US players you will be paired up with.

"Language barrier is fixed like this" - Hi, I'm Latin American and as you can see I'm writing a large post with minimal English misuses. And, if S2 allowed for region swaps at a price of like $20, only people who knew English would be willing to spend the money.

"I hate Latin Americans, so I don't want you playing with us" - Good for you, now have a cookie and live happy stuck in such a closed mindset.

    Yours Sincerely,

-A passionate gamer and INDIE games supporter.
Probably no one will read this. And even if someone from S2 does, they won't give a crap.

S2 is going back in time. Instead of uniting everyone, they are separating, it's exactly the opposite thing they should do.

So, as you said, I'm going to another restaurant. I feel lucky I have a Dota2 beta key. If you don't have one, go to Facebook and keep participating in their contests. Oh, when you are there, don't forget to go to the HoN group and undo the like. Reducing their promo is the best thing you can do right now.

Thirdly, why would I pay to get the same hero but in a different form? Just because I don't wanna waste my money in such nonsense doesn't mean I can't afford it bro. Finally, if you really were a "PRO" (as you self-proclaimed), you would at least be in a top-tier clan and would appear in Honcast videos of tournaments; "PRO" players at in HoN to win tournaments and consequently money, how much have you won so far?

PS: True "PRO" players don't brag in forum discussions, especially those unrelated to the topic.
You are going off topic. I have won a lot of money and gold coins so far. When Hon Tour comes out I will probably win more. I am sorry that you are not aware that because I post on DrLakers that maybe.... throwing out a crazy idea here... we PRO Players have more then one account? Telling the truth is not bragging. Please stay on topic on why this is not going to affect the good players.
